Is the harley benton hbp120 a good bass for a beginner?I'm planning to give ti to a friend as a birthday present(his starter bass,he wants to join me in a band) and was wondering...now,i found a review on harmony central that said it was superb for the price and not just a beginner's bass,he does gigging with it.What do you think?Thanks/1

as a starter bass probably. rather comfortable to play, stays in tune correctly .. but i wouldn't do more with it... but i never really had a proper setup. i did some things myself, but the factory setup is obviously poor

@fullofblood that bass is lame bro. It's more a toy to me than a music instrument. Think it over : for 100 more you can get an Epiphone Thunderbird with near-killer sound and a near-killer look which will lasts your for years. The sound quality of the Epiphone TBird is way better than the HB, and if right now you cant make the difference, within a few months playing the bass you will KNOW HBP is just ugly.

@Bulby93 well i could never replicate the keyboard's sound in manson's music, they're always pretty unique

then i used a really cheapass bass. my biggest concern is that the guitars sound so "thin"

well to me metal gear solid, the first one, will always be the best ! but i don't even have a ps2 xD i played mgs2 on the pc with a keyboard this was horrible ! (well then you get i had to find the game had to be really good because i finished it several times with the keyboard !!!)
