I hit level 70 yesterday (Sunday). I made my character on Wednesday. I haven't even been playing a week and I already need WOTLK and Cata...
This is what happens when you level up with your friend using recruit a friend. You do instances together (I tanked, he healed). Fastest way to level that I could think think of. At the end of dungeons we actually skipped levels, i.e. going from 37 to 39 instantly.
Try wearing some tanking gear. I did it in heirlooms + auction house greens and a few blues from early Tundra quests before I stopped questing. Timing your kills so that you don't waste the health returns from the heirloom trinkets (and Vendetta, but you can't get that now with Howling Blast) is the most important part.
@knaeppen It's the same as soloing anything w/ a deathknight if you've done that. Some def gear, little avoidance, diseases + pestilence, spam the hell out of death strike = never die.
I do this on my druid, but if you swipe spam they will NEVER run back as long as swipe is hitting them.. And lifeward on a weapon has a chance to proc off of EVERY mob you hit. Keep swiping and pulling while walkking backwards and you cannot die. (Feral OFC, I just stamina stack.) I got 68-69 in a matter of half an hour here. :) Nice video.
lol you dont need some special specs for this... I was lvl 69 and became 75 on like 4 hours, just by doing this, and i just had some simple noobish blood specs.
When I did this Howling Blast was a 31 point talent. You can go full into Frost still to get it, but at that level you can't also reach Vendetta making the effectiveness of AOEing significantly lower. You'd probably still be fine with 2 heirloom trinkets, but it will be level 71 before you are able to pick up Corpse Explosion, and even then you wouldn't be able to make full use of it without Butchery.
I know this is an old post but for low level grinding(69-71) Howling Fjord the very beginning, right as you being to fight badies. Hordes of badies come at you and the computer helps you kill them all.
also i realized that i didn't take so much dmg while tanking the rhinos coz they moved too slowly. if i stayed in the same spot while grinding i would have taken more dmg. so the problem is how to find another spot with slow moving mobs at a higher lvl. =(
Sadly I haven't found anything nearly as good as this. XP dropped off here pretty severely at 74/75 so I moved to Scarlet camps in Dragonblight. Could only manage 500k/hour there, but it was still better than everything else I tried. All of the Icecrown aoe locations got serious nerfs too, so I gave up and just specced Unholy to quest at 77 when I didn't like killing camps anymore.
Wow, that was amazing.. Im really considering specing frost on my DK but I don't really know.. heh, looks nice and all. My DK is level 78 atm and im Vendetta/rest unholy atm. Was thinking of getting Vendetta and then going down in frost for frost strike. A friend told me that imp. obliterate is really nice too.. but i just don't really know where it fits in, in my dmg "rotations" any thoughts? :)
After aoe'ing the Rhinos for massive xp/hour until 74 I kind of lost motivation to play it as much when I couldn't find another spot anywhere near as good as this one. I killed Scarlet Onslaught camps North of Naxx to 75 but am basically just playing it on rested now.
If you want to aoe this build works, if not spec something else. Vendetta is really only useful for getting mass health back during a large aoe pull or as seen here against chain-pulled Rhinos. Oblit and Frost Strike wouldn't have any place in an aoe rotation as HB > Oblit and CE (glyphed) > FS in terms of rune/runic usage against multiple targets.

i did this at the start of lvl 70. exactly the same build as u. took me appox 3 hrs to get to lvl 71.
have u tried going back to outlands the farm? did u find new spots?
