People shouldn't rip on Amuro for being a whiny teenager in this series because character development is a large part of what makes stories interesting and by Char's Counterattack Amuro has developed into a badass pilot and its entertaining to watch him evolve as a person.

@atmajaybro I'd say he's suffering right now from post traumatic stress syndrome, he's effectively been pushed into all of this. But yeah all of the ripping is awful, it's a shame we don't have Double Zeta up on Youtube. They'd get to see Amuro as a veteran pilot and see that he becomes an example to all of the E.F.S.F and E.F.F pilots. He is by far one of the best characters in the series and the character development of this series was resplendent.

Yes Amuro might be an awesome pilot but he also disobeys orders on the fly and generally has a bad attitude. It's obvious that the crew gives a shit about him (Or else they'd just off him) but Amuro really needs to understand that EVERYONE is going through tough shit. Not just him.

I understand that this show has retro value, and that it did start the Gundam franchise, but honestly it just isn't very good. So few of the characters are likable. Even Zeta was better than this, and that's saying something.

@hamj32 Seed was okay, not great, but okay. My favorites are Gundam 00 and Gundam Unicorn. AS ror the rest, Zeta / ZZ gets points for really taking on the new-type thing on a great level, G Gundam gets points for been fun but banana loopy, Gundam X gets points for... well for being Gundam X. Wing gets points for being very stylized and convoluted, seed gets points for being a Gundam series that was good for even none Gundam fans, Destiny get points for showing us how not to make a Gundam series

I laugh whenever there's some UC fan who calls all the other series ripoffs of UC (like Gundam Wing) too stupid to mention (G-Gundam) depressing (Zeta gundam) or just downright terrible (Seed, Destiny, 00). For one all the series have their own identity so calling one a copy of the original is downright stupid. Sure there are always some similarities like having a designated hero and a rival but those are present in a lot of shows. Plus for many the characters are likable.

@EvilCleric I like 00. It had really good character growth and it was neat to see the technology in the universe expand and grow as the series progressed. That, and the mecha design was fucking excellent. I also enjoyed the moral ambiguity of the series. The original UC universe had that ambiguity to an extent, but it was never really as grey as in 00 (this is excluding Unicorn, 08th MS Team and Stardust Memory)

Every Gundam series has had its merits, this one included (even destiny)

@Rayle75 Yeah, I watched 00 fairly recently and liked it alot. I especially liked the final battle where Setsuna and Ribbons downgraded to their original gundams after 00 Raiser and Reborns gundams had simply taken too much damage to continue. That was a nice twist.

Yep, I knew stealing Gundam was gonna come back to haunt Amuro, but I honestly wonder why no one else has tried to pilot Gundam besides Sayla until now. I mean, if Kai and Ryo and Hayate can handle the Guntank and Guncannon why not the Gundam as well? Amuro probably knows the Gundam inside & out better than anyone but you'd think they'd train the others in how to use Gundam just in case something bad happened.
