Bobby Vee did this version on one of his "30 Hits of the 60's" albums. A great song by anybody who does it.

This is a more than special number by Mr. Akens. I was 10 years old when the Birds and the Bees tune became a hit. An even bigger hit with me is "My first Lonley Night" I believe I was 8-9 years old when Sukiyaki came out, a tremendous hit in the USA. But, "My First Lonely Night" is a monument and worthy of greatest praise! What a special tune!

This is an absolutely fantastic version of Mr. Sakamoto's song. I loved his song in the 60s; I was just a kid then. I just discovered your song on you tube. I feel it's as good as the original, has the feeling and charm and more. Fantastic! I WAS looking for your The Birds and Bees song and found this one,too. What a surprise. Now I can buy the disc. I love you.

i've always wanted to hear this tune in english. jewel akens has done a great job. so many are a little afraid of doing this tune because kyu did the greatest & he would be hard to beat or even equal. thanks for putting it on.
