You can beat him almost the same way in the gba version. Cannoneer, with bitzshot and dark matter, when he's low on health, and he just dies.

Yay! Thanks to rewatching this video series while playing, I too now have a 100% treasure rating! I only managed 96% on the GBA version, in spite of my overall awesomeness otherwise.

All that's left is to finish mastering all jobs (I think I can do it in a few hours in the final area) and level up a whole bunch on Iron Giants, just for kicks.

OH! I just remembered something. Before you fight X-death, but after the dawn warrior cut scene, you have a moment to move around. If you go back and leave the cleft, the game tells you that time reversed before the cut scene.

Kiss of Blessing still works on Exdeath in the GBA version, but they made sure to fix it so that he'll still become Neo Exdeath. However, with the Cannoneer job class, just combine a Blitzshot an a Dark Matter to use Chaos Cannon. Chaos Cannon overrides any enemy's AI script to prevent them from performing a death action, which for Exdeath is transforming into Neo Exdeath.

Funniest part is, the screen glitches out so half of it is just empty.

Haha, yeah, FFIV Advance and FFV Advance had that lovely quicksave bug whereby you could abuse quicksaves to fight the rarest enemy in a room (interestingly enough, FFIV already had an in-game item--Alert--that could do the exact same thing). This was finally fixed for FFVI Advance, though, somewhat to my chagrin (I remember I tried it when I wanted to fight some rare enemies, and it didn't work).

No. Kiss of Blessing no longer ignores Berserk immunity in the GBA version.

There is another way to get a similar result (kill ExDeath, skip Neo ExDeath) in the GBA version, but I ain't telling.

There is however, a seperate way of killing Ex Death in the Advance version without facing Neo-Ex-Death. Something to do with the Cannoneer job and blasting the crap out of him, and not giving him a chance to transform.
