how do you know where is thermal?

well, you can normally find thermals over asphalt, rocks concrete, ploughed fields and other places like that, you can also find another type called ridge lift near mountains, it happens when the wind is blowing against the mountain side and it's forced upwards, and finally you can find wave lift normally for a few miles past mountains that the wind is blowing against, it's caused by the wind hitting the mountain and the air being like water, creates ripples of waves.

The more I look at these flights, the more I want to get involved. I just like the grace and the control. I have talked to a club 25 miles from where I live. Have my helicopter license from the military. I cannot afford to get back into powered flight right now. This looks like the way to go.
