The front is just like Insect Hoofs on Lassie ! Sneaky Tim, only HE could make two fully independent and glorious moments of beauty from the same song...a bit of a song anyway! Never really listened to this one before ( having only discovered them a year ago ) but that ending is awe inspiring. I don't want it to end ! But alas, it does, so i have to click play again ! Such a cruel life that someone who deserves more credit than even perhaps Lennon & McCartney might well be overlooked evermore :(

the cardiacs are almost too good..saw them in clwb in cardiff a few years back and it was as close to a religious experience as i'll ever want. didnt know they went this far back. makes me want to give up music when tunes this good are about.. and dont get me started with RES!!

yeah last thing i heard Tim Smith, the brain behind the band and singer was recovering from a cardiac arrest (how weird is that?). So a new album and tours have been postponed indefinitely. And it is highly unlikely that they will be performing for a long time, as Tim effectively died, and sustained a brain damage, thus he can neither sing nor play the guitar right now.

That was filmed on the way to, and at Vlietpop in Holland, which the chaps headlined that year, 1989. They did a warm-up the night before in some club somewhere obscure. A bunch of us fishes went with them, it was excellent!
