@F7700 Most smaller police departments did not have cameras in their squad cars back then. There are still several police departments today that can not afford to have a in car cameras. An example of the technology that they had available is apparent when you see that the one officer took a picture of the object with a Polaroid camera.

I saw what I believe to be the same craft about a day before this in northwest missouri flying over the faucett, MO airport on I-29 just south of St. Joeseph, MO in the middle of the day. I never saw the whole thing at the same time as it was passing between two low hanging clouds. I thought I was crazy until I saw this on T.V a few years ago.

Well... I don't see how you can say the latter. Interstellar travel certainly appears impossible. There is no logical way it can be done. As to "time travellers", it would have to be someone from the past. Going backwards in time is more or less impossible for all practicable purposes. "Spirits"... well who knows. Best bet though is some very suped-up military experimental aircraft.

@flatbranch1 Let's not forget though that the Stealth Bomber hardly makes any sound, can disappear from sight because of its reflective surface, is a black triangle shape, doesn't show up on radar, and was kept secret for 10 years. During that time many people must have seen it and decided it was something from another planet. @sthugh A stealth bomber can't hover. These triangles were also witnessed by thousands in Belgium in 1989-1990. That's 20 years ago, and the Illinois sighting was 10 years ago. if it takes about 10 years for experimental technology to go public why has nothing come out about craft that display these abilities?
@FriedrichKling No one said a Stealth Jet could hover. But they've been out for a long time now, and it's quite possible they have later models which can, but we have no knowledge of them. Why shouldn't it take 20 years or even 50 years for the general population to find out about secret aircraft? It takes as long as it takes. We probably still wouldn't know about Stealth Bombers if Bush hadn't let it accidently slip out. The only thing we know for sure is that interstellar flight is impossible.

I remember seeing a UFO in E. St. Louis once while we were about to watch fireworks around July 4th some years ago. My mom looked up amazed and said omg there's a spacecraft. Being so naive I thought she meant a rocketship or something, lol. But no, it was a triangular UFO, had round lights on the side, and it moved veeeery slow and actually stopped for a while. It was kind of low as well. I mean, you could see EVERY detail. That was the scariest stuff I've ever seen. Almost like a movie! :-/
@estlgurl06 My dad and uncle saw three round UFOs (the saucer variety I suppose) from Caseyville back in the 60s. They watched them hover overhead for a long time before they moved off toward Scott Field. Dad said they flew in a V-formation and seemed to hover again when they got near Scott. He called Scott Field and they said they knew nothing about it even though the 3 crafts had to be very close by. Either it was secret military craft, or they had some way of staying off radar etc.

"a red blinking light on the bottom" is standard anti-collision marker for a licensed aircraft. A UFO in the strictest meaning but an alien aircraft I doubt.

I know a professor at Saint Louis University. He said this UFO defied the laws of physics as we know them by traveling 20 miles in a few seconds. I highly doubt this UFO was "ours"

This is freaking me out, because I live in Chicago, and have seen the stories (on Dateline and FOX) of a triangle or V shaped craft (or pattern of lights) moving over California (I think) and a couple of other places, seen and recorded by multiple witnesses. Never knew a similar thing happened near here, until now.
No joke, I remember seeing this. I live in the Evergreen Park area of Chicago and I don't remember the year (must've been around this time) but I ABSOLUTELY remember seeing the v-shaped pattern of lights. They were yellow and at first I thought it was a plane of some sort but when I looked more closely I noticed that they were just lights in a perfect V-shape moving in unison. I honestly didn't sit there and think UFO, but I had no idea what it was. I also didn't look for a news story either.

No one will ever trabel anywhere near the speed of light, and it doesn't matter if they have a brain the size of a football field. All the intelligence in the world cannot break the laws of physics or overturn mathematical proofs. If you could travel at light speed it would still take you nearly 4 days just to get past Pluto.
Too many what ifs for me. We have a ton of data about our own solar system, and the rules of time/space regarding relativity are not broken anywhere within it. The rules also seem to hold up remarkably well throughout the entire viewable universe. The microwave data collected by the Boomerang Project and the Wilkenson Probe both match up extremely well and show a universe pretty much the way most cosmologists said it would, at least in regards to time and space.

You really need to watch the movie. The only 2 cops interviewed for it both said they figured it was military or experimental aircraft which points to Boeing. Plus, the owner of this channel said somewhere in the movie threads here that he personally knows someone in the area that has a good friend that is a Boeing test pilate and that he admitted to them that he flies stuff at night in that part of Illinois all the time. The news lady also said that just about everyone thinks it was military.

I'm so glad I found this video! I seen something back in 2004. I live in the country, and seen a hovering object over the tree line just sitting there with multi colored lights. It was gone in an instant, I thought maybe I was seeing things, but maybe not after seeing this video.

Actually, Boeing claimed in this video that they don't fly over Illinois at night, but I know a guy out in Smithton who has a friend that's a test pilot at Boeing, and he told him that he flies at night over here all the time. I did not think about the other bases in the surrounding area. Oddly enough back home (about 2 hours southeast) at Fairfield my friends and I have seen on 2 seperate occassions a bright white light that seemed to just flash extremely bright in the sky and then move around. Exactly how one of the officers describe the UFO on here (the part about the japanese rising sun flag.) It could be just a meteor of some sort but it is still interesting of the similarities. Any other sightings beyond this?
I saw something like a white ball of light once in broad daylight with hardly a cloud in the sky. I was sitting on my dad's porch when I noticed it. I thought it was an extremely brightly lit chopper because of its shape, then it suddenly disappeared from sight. I'm not sure what it was.
Some people saw something like what these cops saw about a year later, also in January or maybe February. It seemed to disappear (or at least they lost sight of it) around Cahokia Mounds.

Nor did anyone in this video know the truck driver, and I think Craig was the only one who knew the school teacher. Did you even watch this movie? A trucker saw it and went to a police station to report it. the cops knew nothing about it until he mentioned it. The cop sent out to investigate called in a report over the air to the dispatcher that other cops heard, and then they looked for it too. Unless non-cops are sitting around with a police scanner on at 4 A.M. there's no reason anyone else should think to look up. However, several people who were out that night did see it that weren't in the movie.

Assuming there is life elsewhere, I see no way for it to make contact. Travel through wormholes is just a fanciful notion. Chances are that the gravitation in them would pull you to pieces. And if you could travel near the speed of light, a speck of dust would probably shatter your ship (and space is littered with meteorites). Also, at the speed of light it would still take you four days just to get past Pluto. Interstellar travel simply seems out of the question to me.

I had a similiar experience, in Natchez Mississippi, during day light and in good weather about 30 years ago. My experience was a close fly-by of about 200 feet up and almost directly over me. My sited object made no noise either.
The cops in this sighting in Illinois did a horrible job of not sounding the alarm to the military to try a intercept. The military was poor as well.
I wonder what our Military is up to. There is a military base in Illinois. I believe the people but why would the military choose to fly any experimental aircraft over Illinois why not somewhere in Nevada?

He couldn't talk about his job and wouldn't with anybody--ever! I know he was based out of Wright Patterson Field and that he constantly traveled between there and Alamogordo NM. An example of the technology that they had available is apparent when you see that the one officer took a picture of the object with a Polaroid camera.

Well... I don't see how you can say the latter. Interstellar travel certainly appears impossible. There is no logical way it can be done. As to "time travellers", it would have to be someone from the past. Going backwards in time is more or less impossible for all practicable purposes. "Spirits"... well who knows. Best bet though is some very suped-up military experimental aircraft.

@flatbranch1 Let's not forget though that the Stealth Bomber hardly makes any sound, can disappear from sight because of its reflective surface, is a black triangle shape, doesn't show up on radar, and was kept secret for 10 years. During that time many people must have seen it and decided it was something from another planet. What we're seeing with the craft in this movie shows capabilities well beyond the Stealth, especially in the acceleration department. I'm inclinded to think it's military.

@FriedrichKling No one said a Stealth Jet could hover. But they've been out for a long time now, and it's quite possible they have later models which can, but we have no knowledge of them. Why shouldn't it take 20 years or even 50 years for the general population to find out about secret aircraft? It takes as long as it takes. We probably still wouldn't know about Stealth Bombers if Bush hadn't let it accidently slip out. The only thing we know for sure is that interstellar flight is impossible.

I remember seeing a UFO in E. St. Louis once while we were about to watch fireworks around July 4th some years ago. My mom looked up amazed and said omg there's a spacecraft. Being so naive I thought she meant a rocketship or something, lol. But no, it was a triangular UFO, had round lights on the side, and it moved veeeery slow and actually stopped for a while. It was kind of low as well. I mean, you could see EVERY detail. That was the scariest stuff I've ever seen. Almost like a movie! :-/

@estlgurl06 My dad and uncle saw three round UFOs (the saucer variety I suppose) from Caseyville back in the 60s. They watched them hover overhead for a long time before they moved off toward Scott Field. Dad said they flew in a V-formation and seemed to hover again when they got near Scott. He called Scott Field and they said they knew nothing about it even though the 3 crafts had to be very close by. Either it was secret military craft, or they had some way of staying off radar etc.

Anyone!!!! Me and my brother and our neighbor saw a huge silent ufo float over Collinsville,Il in the early 1990s. It was rectagular and bigger than the St. Louis gateway arch. It had different colored lights under the perimeter. I must stress it was huge and the whole experience was surreal. Please message me if you have any info of this sighting. This is freaking me out, because I live in Chicago, and have seen the stories (on Dateline and FOX) of a triangle or V shaped craft (or pattern of lights) moving over California (I think) and a couple of other places, seen and recorded by multiple witnesses. No joke, I remember seeing this. I live in the Evergreen Park area of Chicago and I don't remember the year (must've been around this time) but I ABSOLUTELY remember seeing the v-shaped pattern of lights. They were yellow and at first I thought it was a plane of some sort but when I looked more closely I noticed that they were just lights in a perfect V-shape moving in unison. I honestly didn't sit there and think UFO, but I had no idea what it was. I also didn't look for a news story either.

No one will ever trabel anywhere near the speed of light, and it doesn't matter if they have a brain the size of a football field. Too many what ifs for me. We have a ton of data about our own solar system, and the rules of time/space regarding relativity are not broken anywhere within it. The rules also seem to hold up remarkably well throughout the entire viewable universe. The microwave data collected by the Boomerang Project and the Wilkenson Probe both match up extremely well and show a universe pretty much the way most cosmologists said it would, at least in regards to time and space.

You really need to watch the movie. The only 2 cops interviewed for it both said they figured it was military or experimental aircraft which points to Boeing. Plus, the owner of this channel said somewhere in the movie threads here that he personally knows someone in the area that has a good friend that is a Boeing test pilate and that he admitted to them that he flies stuff at night in that part of Illinois all the time. The news lady also said that just about everyone thinks it was military.

What I find funny about the UFO area is this.
1: If people see a strange light, its obviously an ALIEN.
2: People seem to have linked UFO automatically with extra terrestrial intelligence when this is a bad idea to do this.
3: people will see strange lights OVER or near a military base and still assume its a UFO hence its aliens
4: The military does bad things and blames in on UFOs and the bulk of the public eat it up and go in the wrong direction.

I'm so glad I found this video! I seen something back in 2004. I live in the country, and seen a hovering object over the tree line just sitting there with multi colored lights. It was gone in an instant, I thought maybe I was seeing things, but maybe not after seeing this video.

It's obviously a blackbook US military aircraft. You can find tons of info on it everywhere. Check out the wikipedia on big black delta. US military craft is probably the bulk of UFO sightings (not only this craft)

I work at Scott.. i have always heard of this and i definitely think experimental aircraft. Some people even speculate that we have been in contact with alien life forms for over 6 decades.. which in turn some speculate "explains" the jump in technologies worldwide? Actually, Boeing claimed in this video that they don't fly over Illinois at night, but I know a guy out in Smithton who has a friend that's a test pilot at Boeing, and he told him that he flies at night over here all the time. So yeah, I definately think it's experimental, whether from Scot, Boeing, or Whiteman.

I did not think about the other bases in the surrounding area. Oddly enough back home (about 2 hours southeast) at Fairfield my friends and I have seen on 2 seperate occassions a bright white light that seemed to just flash extremely bright in the sky and then move around. Exactly how one of the officers describe the UFO on here (the part about the japanese rising sun flag.) It could be just a meteor of some sort but it is still interesting of the similarities. Any other sightings beyond this?

I saw something like a white ball of light once in broad daylight with hardly a cloud in the sky. I was sitting on my dad's porch when I noticed it. I thought it was an extremely brightly lit chopper because of its shape, then it suddenly disappeared from sight. I'm not sure what it was.
Some people saw something like what these cops saw about a year later, also in January or maybe February. It seemed to disappear (or at least they lost sight of it) around Cahokia Mounds.

I am sure they have another type of camera other than the dash cam. Anyways all i am saying is that to me it is just another "sighting" like all the others. Some how no one ever has a camera and if they do well for some odd reason its blurry and you cant see anything. I suppose that could be some alien frequency temporarily disrupting everyones electronics.

I don't believe in life on other planets, at least not intelligent life, but many of the sightings over the years have turned out to be experimental aircraft. Most people aren't lying about these things. They're seeing something--it's just a matter of what. Craig Stevens took a picture of this craft as you saw in the video. Unfortunatley all he had, like most cops carry, was a Polaroid, and if you ever tried to take a pic with one of those in the winter, you'd know they don't develope properly.

No such animal as a UFO, only IFO's and ISO's, all are highly identified craft, tri repell craft, they repell Gravity, Mass, Friction. I don't know where you got that information (undoubtedly from the idiotnet though), but I knew Craig Stevens, and I've met Ed Barlet; they did not know each other. Nor did anyone in this video know the truck driver, and I think Craig was the only one who knew the school teacher. I imagine Stevens and the Shiloh cops knew each other since Belleville & Shiloh are practically the same town. O'Fallon is right next to Shiloh and is fairly big. There's also this thing called a police union you know.

Kind of jumping to conclusions there aren't you? No one has ever come up with a convincing model of intersteller travel. It would seem all but impossible for anything to get here from another solar system. I don't know what these things are, but like most of the people in the video, I think they usually turn out to be experimental craft. They kept the Stealth bomber secret for several years. How many people do you think saw those and thought they were from another planet? Probably plenty.

1) You are thinking like a child. There are billions of species on Earth, not one of which is anywhere near the intelligence of mankind. There is no evidence, nor any reason to think that any life elsewhere will be more intelligent.
2) It is an absolute fact that nothing can break Einstein's law which states nothing can travel faster than light. Intelligence has nothing to do with. It would be like trying to create a rock so big you couldn't lift it. It's a paradox which cannot be fixed.

And no, nothing is faster than the speed of light. No one has ever proven tachyons exist. And I never said, nor implied, the speed of light is constant. being constant has no bearing on anything overtaking it. "Spooky action at a distance" _might_ be faster than light, but since it's so fast it can't be measured we'll never know.

The cops got bored and want to be remembered for something. It seems more than strange that only cops are noticing this UFO. Out of the thousands and thousands of officers, at least a few are going to be lame enough to do something like this. In fact, there are a lot of dumb-ass cops.

Did you even watch this movie? A trucker saw it and went to a police station to report it. the cops knew nothing about it until he mentioned it. The cop sent out to investigate called in a report over the air to the dispatcher that other cops heard, and then they looked for it too. Unless non-cops are sitting around with a police scanner on at 4 A.M. there's no reason anyone else should think to look up. However, several people who were out that night did see it that weren't in the movie.

Assuming there is life elsewhere, I see no way for it to make contact. Travel through wormholes is just a fanciful notion. Chances are that the gravitation in them would pull you to pieces. And if you could travel near the speed of light, a speck of dust would probably shatter your ship (and space is littered with meteorites). Also, at the speed of light it would still take you four days just to get past Pluto. Interstellar travel simply seems out of the question to me.

The key witness was the first witness (the truck driver). He reported that the object made absolutely no noise.
I had a similiar experience, in Natchez Mississippi, during day light and in good weather about 30 years ago. My experience was a close fly-by of about 200 feet up and almost directly over me. My sited object made no noise either.
The cops in this sighting in Illinois did a horrible job of not sounding the alarm to the military to try a intercept. The military was poor as well.
