I think the main issue with portraying black women as being "mad and sassy" when black men date outside their race is that: Black men don't deny it! While I'm sure equivalent parts of both black women & men date out of their race, the fact remains that black men like for the world to know - "Hello World! I'm dating a White Woman!" whereas black women are still somewhat subdued & perhaps carry a stigma associated with interracial dating, as if we are giving in to the 'man'.

I'm really glad I found your blog post about these videos. I was arguing with Black men about this stuff and finally gave up. They were trying to confuse me by saying I was a gold digger (even though I would accept someone who made 1/2 as much as I did) and someone who had a degree. 1 guy even said I didn't deserve kids if I wasn't cool with my kids not getting degrees. You're right, it's propaganda that doesn't benefit Black women. i want a guy with similar values, like valuing school.

I notice that these people have in common (mostly) that they are hard workers who have excelled on their own merits. Yes, a few might have had a little family money but mostly self-made. Like usually attracts like when it comes to character. In this case that attraction even overcame social taboos about physical appearance and dating/marrying. I wish them all continued happiness. They certainly look happy in these photos. Anyone fussing need only look at sports stars to see the flip side.

Sometimes you may have to leave your comfort zone and try something new in order to find love.
