I've made 50km/h (according to GPS) on 42:16 (2.66) and I just couldn't spin my legs any faster. I'm a bit doubtful of reaching 60km/h speed with the authors ratio. Anyway nice video, 謝謝. Wish there would be more frames per second.
@snaip try a 44t on the front, the change the rear one down after a while, but use a front brake, you will go much faster and it isnt that much harder
I'm quite happy with 42:16 for long distance (my world is quite hilly), however I got also an oldie steel bike where I can swap between 52 and 36 (16/18). I didn't really try 52:16 ever since I had no brake on that bike. The cranks are quite long though.. so I'm probably going to kill myself while high speed cornering.

I don't follow. I don't know how Newtonian forces works there but the faster I go while turning, the more I need to lean to counter my forward momentum. If I go slow, I don't need to lean at all. :) Anyway, higher ratio is OK during summer.
@snaip Experienced small gear TTers can go that fast downhill with a 46x21. That's 210 rpm, which, while spinning pretty damned fast, isn't record breaking stuff. The medium gear (what you're running) guys have broken 70.
That must look pretty cool yet silly at the same time seeing someone pedal 210rpm out on the streets. In the end I cycle because for me it's the most convenient way to move around within 30km radius.

@FMECCTV idk much about bikes but idk why you would need a chain tensioner for a single speed. buy a shorter chain? I think you will need to buy a new chain anyways cus once you switch out the multi-gear cog for a fixed cog it doesn't line up correctly with the old chain. that's what happened to me but for a freewheel cog idk about a track cog
@FMECCTV if its a single speed drop out it you can tension it normaly, if its origanaly for gears with no toom to moove back you need a tensioner, but you can get reverse ones that kinda tuck it up by the frame so its not so ovius, or try make a half link bmx chain work instead, but it wount work as well, you can get slick lookin tensioners though

It looks like a 650c wheel in the front with a normal 700c in the back. However, there really isn't any good reason for doing it, it makes your bike look a little more "aggressive" but affects handling immensely and odds are you're going to wind up scraping cranks anytime you go over speedbumps and the like.
most track bikes (not converted road bikes) are pure fixed made for the velodrome and has toe overlap. sometimes people get the 650c in front so to do tricks.
but if you don't' want to do tricks, just speed just stick with 700c on a pure track bike.
