It really was that crazy. I can remember not being able to stop shouting Oh My God over and over again while jumping around like a crazy person with all the other crazy people there. And it was so loud, you'd think they were actually playing a game there. The first time in ages that people have been allowed (or they gave up) to rush the court. I was there with my family, and oh my God, I've been to tons of games at Allen Fieldhouse when it was filled to capacity, and none of them were as loud as when Mario Drained the 3. I still tear up thinking back on it.

people can give us shit about losing to northern iowa, but then i can watch this video and it reminds me that we won a national championship only two years ago and that i am spoiled every year with amazing ku basketball, so talk all the crap you want about northern iowa, because we still have 5 more national championships than kstate and most other schools ROck Chalk

@nwfootbll14 People can't gives us shit to losing to UNI unless maybe they have something better to show for it. Which other than a few select schools they don't. Duke had the most powderpuff bracket I've ever seen too. UNC was in the NIT. UK didn't do much better if I recall. And yes KU is just that awesome!

@JokersRWildStudios and even though he seems to have the most talented teams, are his players actually elgible to play or our grades fabricated. Won;t be surprised if, as soon as he leaves Kentucky, it turns out some his players were inelgible, and their season is expunged from the record books.

@jbobbster I know that's the point. Calipari can't coach AND he cheats when he recruits. Both times he's gotten to the final four with UMass and Memphis, they were stripped of their final four berth with an ineligible player. Marcus Camby for UMass and Derrick Rose for Memphis. I feel Bob Knight was right. Calipari is a scumbag and shouldn't be allowed to coach with all of the infactions he's committed.

@TheBballplayer18 Yea until he slips up with John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins. Every team he coaches for has his apologists. The thing is I like Indiana but I was glad they fired Kelvin Sampson's ass. You can't tell me these coaches don't know the rules. And once again Calipari does things only for his benefit. I think they should really look to the NCAA to ban these coaches from ever coaching D-I again. It's the only way the playing field will be level.

I was there with my family, and oh my God, I've been to tons of games at Allen Fieldhouse when it was filled to capacity, and none of them were as loud as when Mario Drained the 3. I still tear up thinking back on it.
I am disabled, but I so wanted to kiss the Jayhawk at half court, that my family helped me down to it...if anyone recalls that...it was me!

haha. that's funny. do they camp out in tents for weeks to get into games? are there fans as knowledgable? does the history go back as far? do they travel as well? KU fans can be found in huge numbers at any road game, even in L.A. or Boston. i don't see as many MSU fans at away games. heck, there were more Duke, WVU and Butler fans at the Final Four this year, i was there! and msu is next door!
i'm gonna need some proof, lol. MSU has great fans, but KU is on another level.

@kuwinsitall no idea, hes a god on campus, has everything, all the respect, and he was gonna blow it to coach an nba team, hes good because his players respect him, nba players only care about getting a paycheck except for a select few. hed never succeed on that level. i wonder if he had prior knowledge lebron was out before he said no.

@norjak71. Maybe. I'd still rather coach one of the great teams in College history than the sucky Cavs. Maybe he just wanted a change of pace? a new challenge? i dunno. i do know that NBA fans only have 3% of the passion of college fans, and that he'd miss the adulation.
Like when Roy Williams left KU for Carolina, many were bitter. i understood. but going to carolina he'll always be in dean smith's shadow. at KU, he was literally a God. could do no wrong. we were amazed he left.
