From what I understand in Touhou Wiki, that Prismriver family wants to move, but Layla, the 4th daughter of Prismriver dont wanna to, cuz that mansion have many memories of her with her 3 older sisters. In Layla's full power, she can create poltergeists. So, she somehow created 3 poltergeist, who looks similarly like those 3 older sisters of hers, which is Lunasa, Merlin and Lyrica. And they had so much fun with Layla, until she died.

Sad story..

The reason why there are three people in the beginning that look like the poltergeists is because after their, and the green haired girl, father died, they all wen their separate ways. Because of the memories, Layla stays at the house. She has the ability to conjure poltergeists, so she creates 3 in the images of her sisters, who she misses. After Layla dies, the poltergeists still play music to this day in what is now known as "Poltergeist Mansion".

... It was sad, seeing her sisters part, but Layla learned magic to recreate her sisters and she knew they would out-live her indefinitely as time passed.

If this were canon, it would make the Prismrivers' connection to Yuyuko as frequent performers a whole lot more understandable. On the other hand, it would beg the question of why they don't just choose to live in the netherworld with their sister; I mean, they are already ghosts, after all.

Her name is Layla=Prismriver.She is creator of Prismriver sisters we know well.

Her family, which was wealthy but then collapsed and separated, had four daughters and she was the youngest.

She created poltergeists imitated with her sisters (just imitation) with oriental magic item and entered Gensokyo together with her house.

She lived out her life. And poltergeists didn't disappear.

Then they determined to behave like a poltergeists and began instrument.

This is just a crazy guess, but to me it seems the 3 girls in the beginning of the vid are the prism river sisters. Looks like they are going away to live successful lives (successful but unhappy ones), possibly as musicians, and the glass breaking at 0:16 kinda symbolizes their death. Then they comeback as ghosts and are reunited with Layla. To this day they preform weekly at Hakugyokuro with Layla Prismriver :D

@SakuyaHasPad close. they dont come back, they are just recreations based on how layla knew them when they were alive. layla was orphaned, and thats how she managed to cope. thats the canon story anyway, this video seems to imply yukari had a hand in it somehow, probably guided the whole process.

@UncleShoveit During the chorus parts it's distinctively a trumpet. They put the saxophone bits in randomly, but that doesn't mean it's Merlin's. There's also a percussion in the background that obviously can't be from any of the three.
