I'm glad that someone made a film that opened the eyes of the general public to just how difficult the world of wrestling can actually be and how it's not as "fake" as people perceive it to be.
@Loyalty1269 and @HalfLifeHalfDead make an appointment and discuss your likes and dislikes :) with alllllll respect! i mean this is not a chat room cmon u lost the path...Returning to the subject this is a great movie! Mickey Rourke Rulez! "Ram Jam!!!!!"
The first time I watched the movie I figured that he died at the end, but the second time left me in limbo? So I guess there is no real answer for the ending.
@Loyalty1269 A truly wonderful performance, but lets not get over our heads, shall we? I doubt you've seen enough of the movies that have come out in the last 30 years to make such a claim.
@HalfLifeHalfDead Um actually i have dude. Im involved in the business and i have been watching movies my whole life. starting from movies from the 50's to now. And I have seen all the classics. MY opinion is that this is the best and rawest comeback performance ive ever seen. Its arguarbly my favorite, which means there are many others that can be considered the best. the al pacino and deniro performances. but i put this one as my favorite next to deniro is raging bull
@Loyalty1269 What you said before wasn't an opinion, it was stating a fact I can spend a long time proving wrong. But if it's your personal opinion, lets leave it at that. I too have seen many moves and have a personal library of around 2900 and would have a VERY hard time accepting your last comment as the sole truth. Not to mention comparing performances is often simply idiotic. How can you compare this to say, Lewis in There Will Be Blood? Hopkins in Silence? Harris in Pollock? Makes no sense
@HalfLifeHalfDead ill make this short and sweet. when i say something, its stating an opinion. i didnt take a poll of who had the best performance ever out of what? hundreds of thousands of movies? and its idiotic to pick there will be blood as lewis best performance over My Left Foot. i mean, thats moronic. harris in pollock isnt even top 10 either. hoffman in rain man, james stewart its a wonderful life. malcom mcdowell in clockwork. those are perfomances i can appreciate.
@Loyalty1269 First of all, keep the aggressive tone down. Do agree that ppl have different opinions and I DO like Lewis more in Blood. And if you can't appreciate what Harris does, it's your problem. The other two were before Raging Bull.
Are we going to spend days now just throwing names at each other? Is your ego so big that you just HAVE to prove how much you know about movies? And if you really were a part of the business you would know actors themselves hate comparisons and never do them
@Loyalty1269 And I'm sorry, but I really can't help myself - It's a Wonder Life? Not Harvey, not Mr Smith Goes to Washington? Not Vertigo or Winchester 73? I don't know, to each his own, but I don't think It's a Wonderful Life is hist best work.
It's interesting how similar this movie is to Black Swan. I would have loved to see Aronofsky combine the stories in to one movie. Nevertheless, Mickey Rourke was amazing in this movie. He was sad but authentic.
when he was talking with his daughter ''I'm an old broken down piece of me,and i deserve to be old alone I just don't want you to hate me.'' i got teary eyed just hearing it.Can anyone give me a download link of the movie?PLEASSEE
@trentigalaxy Incredibly; it's not one of those overdramatic, overzealous sports movies that portrays a romantic american dream scenario. It's about a broken man trying to mend his life
Mickey Rourke is truly mesmerising to watch on screen you can't take your eyes off him. Mickey Rourke could make eating a Sandwich on screen into an Oscar winning performance.
I just got back from watching this movie on fillmsi.co.cc, and it is indeed a beautifully made and artistic story. Very creative and unique... definitelly worth watching
You'll be captivated from the start and glad you watched it...it's great...why spend money on cinema!!? you could do that for free on fillmsi.co.cc...

Well worth seeing movie. It has a deep intensity which keeps you close to the story.. The finale involves one of the most violent shoot outs in the history of cinema, I could say. It is not forced in any thing, but again...it is totaly awesome and different fromanything you have seen. watch it at look4movie

@lotzapoppa89 not for the charcter though. Smart people all hate 80's culture, there's no excuse for it. This movie is like an attempt to humanize the 80's. Can't blame a macho retard like the wrestler here for hating Cobain, for bringing some real shit into that fantasy world and bursting a balloon or two.
@DachshundWrestling Duh, this movie is suppose to show that Professional Wrestling is fake. But that isn't the point of this movie, the point is an old wrestler's life outside the ring. If you watch The Fighter or Warrior, it's somthing like that.
I remember when I came back from seeing the movie...... I only remembered one character and that was Mickey's. Stunning, the way he acted. Incredibly brave to play someone like this, when you know how his life has been in the years before this movie. He blew me away. Should have gotten the Oscar, but playing a gay man in Hollywood makes you more popular than playing someone on the edge of society....
@tantjenbertolli I agree with you totally, Mickey Rourke is exceptional in this, one of my favourite roles. However Sean Penn was also amazing in Milk, I think they were both brilliant, don't knock the gay man.
Awesome! Amazing! I gotta see a thousand times. I love this film so much. First, hot chicks that kick ass, even though they didnt all really kick ass, babydoll did. She was my fave anyway. You can find it on fillmsi.co.cc.
Can't wait to see this movie at fillmsi.co.cc. The book is one of my favorite of all time. Hopefully they didn't do a disservice to it. This looks like a great movie and anybody else who thinks other wise is ignorant and unamerican!
These "broken" heroes like Rourke in the Wrestler and Bridges in Crazy heart - combined with fine music is a rare enjoyment in these days of junk tv and castingfuck....
I saw this movie last saturday and sunday it was so good that i had to see it twice lol but i dident get the ending of this movie... I will watch it again on fillmsi.co.cc today...
this movie is amazing. For all those who refuse to watch it because it involves pro wrestling I feel sorry for you. YOu are depriving yourself of an amazing movie with an amazing actor. bravo.
I still enjoyed it a great deal and about halfway through it finally dawned on me that this film is a modern-day Heavy Metal. After I figured that out I found it a lot easier to follow everything. I saw it on fillmsi.co.cc and I was pretty satisfied with it.
I saw this movie thinking I was going to hate it since I was never a wrestling fan, but it turned out to be one of the best movies I've ever seen. I love it when that happens.

You can choose not to like or hate wrestling, but just dont insult them man. They do deserve some RESPECT.
@vict0r1ous the movie is great, and if you watch it, they implied that wrestling isnt fully real, but rather scripted and sometimes imrovised on the spot. It takes real athletitism to be a wrestler, and you have to be a pretty good actor/entertainer as well. Know the topic your talking about instead of making nonsense comments on how you believe you can kick anyone's ass.

sometimes i just hate how people like to insult all the wrestlers and call them fake or whatsoever. Of coz it is fake or else why it is called entertainment?
You can choose not to like or hate wrestling, but just dont insult them man. They do deserve some RESPECT.

@vict0r1ous the movie is great, and if you watch it, they implied that wrestling isnt fully real, but rather scripted and sometimes imrovised on the spot. It takes real athletitism to be a wrestler, and you have to be a pretty good actor/entertainer as well. Know the topic your talking about instead of making nonsense comments on how you believe you can kick anyone's ass.
