NOBODY ON STAGE knew that the house sound went out. THERE ARE TWO SOUND SYSTEMS: the one that plays sound to the audience and the one that plays to the musicians' headphones/monitors. THEY ARE COMPLETELY SEPARATE. ALL OF THE PERFORMERS COULD STILL HEAR AND FEEL THE MUSIC in their personal monitors. If you're not a musician (or somehow in the know) you wouldn't know this. You assume she was lip syncing, you assume she was pretending. You know what happens when you assume?
