  • the videos great but that scratching dog or what have you in the background is so distracting haha

  • @scout6686 That would be Penny. :-) She makes an appearance in my videos about pets/animals and mental health. Gretchen, another dog, is in them too. They make some funny background appearances at times too, like the one where Gretchen keeps looking up at the cameral behind me wearing her 'cone' after her surgery. She stole the show!

  • I have felt like alot of people don't believe things are difficult b/c a lot of times it is in my head & they don't see the immense effort it takes. If they could visit my head they would understand that I don't behave the way I do on purpose or sue it as an excuse. I hope you have someone you can talk to. I always get nervous when people talk about suicide because I care but I don't know what to say. I've been there & still don't know what to say. Don't give up, persist, it WILL get better...

  • Apathy, a state i am quite use to. The 'i don't care' thoughts are very common when im depressed..... which is very draining.

  • I get this too, it feels like I am weighed down with lead, it feels like picking up a pencil weighs a ton. It's very physical. All I want to do is sleep. Thanks for sharing.

  • You're welcome. Sorry to hear you go through this. I had it once for a year straight before my meds were right. It is very physical, not just mental, at this point.

  • I hope you feel better now. You expressed this state very well.

I get this type of depression nearly all the time when I get depressed. Sometimes I have heard it called retarded depression. I also like to set priorities in my life and if I seem to be falling short of meeting them, it is a sign to myself that I am not functioning well - as you described with your dogs.

  • Yes, I do feel better, thank you. I think it is difficult for people to understand mania & depression caused by a mood disorder if they haven't experienced it themselves. When I felt myself cycling, I took the opportunity to show & tell in hopes of helping people to understand. I also hoped to help people with mood disorders identify when they are in an episode of depression or mania.
