The reason this track sounds a lot like a MIDI is because, unlike the other MP3 format tracks in this game, this song was sequenced and hard-coded into the game, much like a Genesis or Super Nintendo title's music.

I downloaded the JP/EUR OST for Sonic CD (Which I honestly prefer over the US versions.. Most of them are too Mellow for my Taste) But It lacks all the Past songs. :(

@DariusEdge2 That's because they were mp3s ripped from the disc. The past songs are programmed into the game itself and are harder to get a hold of.

I love the other Palmtree panic soundtrack but I love the past one the most, for its so soothing and perfect to listen to when SPRING and SUMMER approaches ^_^

Ya know, I once played a hack of this game that was called Sonic & Tails. It had both Sonic & Tails as playable and all of the levels were the past versions of all of the levels of sonic cd with the usa music. It was cool, but since I accidentely deleated it and the maker was peged for using official SEGA stuff and using Sonic and yada yada, I can no longer play it. :(
