i followed all the steps, but when i open the vocoder, and change the setting to "Bus 1" then to "Voc" not "Syn" i dont get any change in the vocals, it didn't filter through. any ideas anyone, please.
@qwertyalienqwerty pitch shifts will always change their timbre somewhat. if you are looking for merely a pitch correcting plugin than i recommend you look into autotune.
if i mute the original audio track, the vocoder will definitely not play the voice with the piano roll right?

Is it possible to get a completely clean sound in the vocoder plugin so that the vocals can be pitch-shifted without changing their timbre?

how do you record? i route the vocoder through input 1 otherwise it wont work, but whenever i record i get no sound
