  • Thank you for sharing this video. The manufacturer provides 3 different instructions for winding a bobbin, each is different, and none of them accomplish the task. Following each of the 3 factory proceedures, the best I was able to get was a tangled ball of fuzz. The worst case, I ended up with thread creeping down the spindle underneath the bobbin winding seat (which jammed the machine before I could stop it).

10 seconds after your video, I had a proper bobbin.

    I miss the 1950's machines.

  • @vicvelcro Thank you! I'm so glad that the video helped you. I think manufacturer's instructions are usually incomplete, or confusing. And I agree, machines were much simpler in the 50's! :D

  • @MasterxAce Yes I realize that, and I should have noted that in the video, but some sewing machines require pulling the bobbin thread through before you can sew. On this machine it in NOT necessary. Thanks for your comment.

  • I am new to the entire world. I have read instructions on applique and get the entire idea. What I DO NOT know how to do is HOW to do it with my machine Brother SE400. I DO NOT know how to SET the machine up for applique. I know how to do it once I set the machine up but it's the setting up part i do not understand. ive done the basics sewing some embroidery threading the basics i got it's the applique set up i want. you are the 1st to reply to me i hope you can help! :)

  • This was a great video! Very easy to understand! I have the exact same machine do you think you can do a tutorial on how to applique with this machine? I am having such a hard time understanding how to.

  • @jennifercasariego

Glad you enjoyed the tutorial. Have you done any applique before? I would be more than happy to put together a video, but I am not sure I would get it done before you found your answer. I can try to explain it to you, if you like. How much sewing experience do you have? or are you just new to the machine?
