  • Lol

  • 0:01 looks like a outline of matt smith :S

  • Also interesting to note that Lenny is wearing a jacket similar to Christopher Ecclestons!

  • The unemployed man is Dick Head from Bottom!

  • looks like they met a member of the occupy movement, ps I support it

  • "Perry, this is a kid's show." Wait until the real 2010 when you see Amy trying to get the Doctor in bed the day before her own wedding.

  • nice!!!!!!! :D

  • hehe Thatchos LOL :D

  • Lenny Henry would make such a great Doctor.

  • Okay its funny and all but i wouldnt say its hard to predict unemployment in any year. People talk about unemployment as though it's a new thing, oh there was unemployment, there's always been unemployment and there always will be, doesnt matter if its 1930, 1980 or today, so I wouldnt say it was a massively uncanny prediction as a pretty standard elelment of any era.

  • That 2010 prediction was pretty spot on, only difference being Margaret Thatcher is now a man called David Cameron, although it might be argued that he is a cyberman, no emotions and all that.

  • @randomsamno9 hasha

  • @randomsamno9 Truely evolution at work from an inhuman bitch called Thatcher in 80s to an Etontian toseer, just in one generation amazing that.

  • Funny!

  • Funny :-D

  • If by cybermen they ment polish people.. spot on!

  • Funny how this was made in the mid 80's looking at today. They got unemployment right. Wierd seeing this 25 years on with, although some spoof comedy, trying to see what the future might be like. It's like watching the 1960's The Time Machine film and seeing what they thought the future would be like now because of something else (nuclear war).

  • Perry "Doctor, I have never told you this before, but I find you incredibly attractive."

Doctor "Perry this is a children's program."

That didnt seem to stop Amy Pond.

  • @TheCartoonLoon hehehe cos it's fathers' show now :-) Amy's leg are too long to fit into a children's one.

  • Davros, is the leader of the Daleks.

  • Thatchos xD

  • Why is Lenny dressed as Rupert Bear?

  • Well, Lenny's Doctor wardrobe predates what Eccleston would wear of course. Even though his outfit is incomplete minus a button collar shirt. It's still more original then Matt Smiths' outfit. Not that his Doctor is bad just his wardrobe.

  • @ChaosDynamics

Yes,and 'Thatchos' is still technically in control (albeit by proxy via Major,Blair,Brown and Cameron).

  • Well that's not right, Peri shouldn't be English!

  • @NyeTunes peri is a stupid companion anyway, her american accent makes it worse...

  • God that Mondas Cyberman moves fast......

  • i was thinking that will smith would be a cool doctor

  • England 2010 lolz - Well I'm in England and the year is 2010, But no sign of Doctor Who or the cybermen or those odd monsters lolz

  • @Ashleybradbury Hahah, was thinking of the same thing. Where the hell is the doctor XD

  • 2010 ha! That is a cheap looking Cyberman.

  • @aztekarrow The 2010 one looks much worse.

  • lenny for the 12th docter

    steven fry for the 13th

  • @NESzebes OMG Sephen Fry! what an amazing thought haha!

  • This is great! One of the best Doctor Who spoofs.

  • I remember watching this as a kid back then, didn't pick up on the loaded social commentary about Thatcher's Britain. lol quarter of a century since this was made and there still hasn't been a black Doctor.

Is this series available on DVD yet?

  • its 2010 no waaay

  • lol "You mean-" "It's nackered."

    lmao

    i love Lenny!

  • It's 2010, I *must* cosplay Lenny Henry's Doctor Who!

  • The guy they meet, i'm sure he's from Bottom, as the pub landlord??

  • @kessie6509 It's Lee Cornes, yes :)

  • @kessie6509 Yes, he's from bottom. Dick Head

  • The character was Dick Head

  • Classic!

  • Lol, This year!

  • This was brilliant. The year 2010. Meeting an unemployed man. That bit was correct =P

  • Ironic, is it not, that they predicted the future on a Doctor Who spoof?

  • OMG it's 2010 right now >.> wierd, nothing like that

  • Lenny's the greatest! I remember when I saw this at a Media/Fantasy/SF convention when I didn't know who Lenny was at the time. I laughed my head off and became a solid fan ever since. RIBITTTT!

  • He SO could have played this part for real...love it!

  • omg that's what they thought 2010 would be like!!!! : D

  • funny watching this now "in" 2010

  • @DarkTheAtheist it just means we better wach are backs

  • @DarkTheAtheist They got a pretty close description though, right! I mean, "The Lost tribe of the unemployed"!!!!!

  • "It's knackered."

  • who is the person who plays as Perry?

  • A black Doctor all I wanted!!! awesome

  • If they ever decide to cast a black Doctor, it should be Lenny.

  • Do you know what?

If they DID cast a black guy, I reckon the guy who played Marigold in 'In sickness and in health' would be very good.

He also went on to star in the Bill. I think he'd pull it off well but you don't see much of him now days.

  • @NeonChimpAustralia I wanted to say that!

  • @NeonChimpAustralia i think they should use eddie murphy lol. cause he looks like eddie murphy.

  • @NeonChimpAustralia do you mean lenny henny?

  • @NeonChimpAustralia Why, because of the braces?

  • @NeonChimpAustralia I love Lenny Henry, but if they should ever cast a black guy as The Doctor, it should be either Chiwetel Ejiofor, Adrian Lester, or Colin Salmon. Lenny shold stick to playing Othello.

  • @jemmabond I think Idris Alba could play the Doctor...

  • DELETE DELETE DELETE

  • Great parody, I thought "Thatchos" was hilarious! Lenny Henry might actually make a good serious Doctor if Matt Smith doesn't work out!

  • @DoctorPretorious616 Well, Matt Smith has more than worked out, so... :-)

  • @NyeTunes I agree, Smith has won me over. I hope he stays on Season 6 and beyond! He still hasn't convinced that bowties are cool, though.

  • Lenny! @ last! Best Dr Who so far..!

  • This was Hilarious! I miss Lenny Henry in "CHEF!" SERIOUS PROFESSION!

  • If those bloody crazy yanks steal this idea and turn it into a film, I'll shoot them myself.

  • ROFL did Paul McGann's movie pass by unnoticed?

  • Too right man! I HATE American remakes! They ruined The Office, Life on Mars and Kath & Kim! I'm with you dude!

  • @VirgilwithanE Our Office isn't bad, but Kath & Kim was awful, the Red Dwarf they tried to make was beyond awful, and Life on Mars... just didn't work. And it should have worked. It had Harvey Keitel in it, for heaven's sake, and yet, no. Weird.

  • @sycoraxrock THEY TRIED TO REMAKE RED DWARF?!?! or are you talking about series IX: Back to Earth?

  • @VirgilwithanE Yeah, apparently there was a US Red Dwarf. There was also a US Are You Being Served too, but I don't believe it ever aired. No one has visual evidence of it.

  • I enjoyed the Lenny Henry show a lot, especially the 1980's version with Gina McKee starring alongside Lenny. Great comedy - wish the Beeb would repeat these.

    Thanks for the upload Tetramesh.

  • That was so funny. Thatos lol that was so entertaining. Gordon brown would be a slitheen and David Cameron would be the Master. Nick Griffen he would be the Daleks..,. Wait he could not fit in he is so fat.

  • who stole rupert bears trousers?

  • "Is that difficult to fix?"

"No, but it's very difficult to say."

    ROFL

  • Yeah, just ask anybody who dares to suggest Barack Obama might not be all that.

  • why this is hilarious: the jokes still apply to the revised DW! LOL

  • huh? davros is the creator of the daleks not the cybermen

  • This skit was startlingly prophetic, really, given that Colin's "regeneration" into Sylvester went almost exactly as this one did (TARDIS gives a sudden lurch, Doctor falls to floor and regenrates out of sight).

Funny how Peri seems to have forgotten that she's American.

  • Funny how they imagined 2010 25 years ago.

  • We nearly had a new Doctor Who who was black this year, but they gave it to someone else.

  • Who was that, then?

  • I can't remember the guy's name, but it's true. At one point, they were thinking of making the doctor a woman, and they were thinking of giving that part to Billie Piper.

  • It was already becoming "The Rose Tyler Show" there for a while, so why not?

  • To answer your question, the first black Doctor Who could have been Colin Salmon, best known for playing M's assistant in James Bond. Aidrien Lester was also keen, and quite frankly, I can see him in that role.

  • And in deed, Mr. Salmon played Dr. Moon in "Forest of the Dead" and "Silence in the Library," so he'd have been like that other Colin who appeared on the show before playing the Doctor. :-)

  • You mean Colin Baker. One of the worst Doctors of all time.

  • Depends what you like. I like something about all of 'em.

  • I love Colin Baker's Doctor and can totally relate to him.

  • Colin Baker was THE worst Doctor of all time, dude! No hard feelings, but it's my opinion. Sorry!

  • Why's he the worst? If I could travel with The Doctor I would travel with Six because at least he would tell me the truth - he wouldn't suck up and silently bear it if I pissed him off. But ah well. Opinions and all XD

  • @sanjouindacapo Compared to the rest, he sucks in my opinion. And if we're talking about our fave doctors, I'd go with either Tom Baker or David Tennant.

  • Colin and Sylvester.

  • Well, you might change your mind when the new doctor's shows begin to air.... he really doesn' look like a good doctor :(

  • I know. No-one's ever heard of him and there are SO many other actors who would have been BRILLIANT as the Doctor, like James Nesbitt.

  • @VirgilwithanE

    True. LOL.

  • keep in mind that i'm just joking here ......

but how do you relate to him?, do you look like a british richard simmons too?

    XD

  • Colin Salmon was also in Dinotopia.

  • u racist bitch!

  • How am i racist?, i'm a white female and when i say "if only" i'm saying that the casting people for Doctor Who could be racist. I'm one of the most non-racist people you will ever know, you completely misinterpreted my words. And i'm a big fan of Lenny Henry,

  • dude reminds me of Eddie Murphy

  • You are only saying that because they are both black, he doesn't sound nor look like Eddie Murphy

  • In this skit hje does remind me and of course cause he's black

    I wouldnt say Tom Cruise

  • I mean your saying those two people becuase there black, you dont say Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt look a like do you?

  • No, but Tom Cruise and Rob Lowe look alike, and it's not racist to say that, nor to say that Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox look alike.

  • Alright, Calm down, Its just they don't look alike, It just seemed you were saying it because there both black "All black people look alike"

  • I didn't make the initial remark.

  • That was part of the joke, duh.

  • I don't think they were referencing Harry Potter in 1985.

  • i know that, she just looks like emma.

  • I don't think Emma was even a glint in her dad's eye yet.

  • Ironic you say that because Lenny Henry was in the 3rd Harry Potter movie as the Shrunken Head. Most people don't know that.

  • I did!

  • the girl/sidekick looks and reminds me of emma watson, or if i've got the name wrong, hermione from harry potter.

  • lol, is it me or does it look like lenny henry is dressed like rupert the bear?

  • The trousers say Rupert the Bear, the coat says Shaft.

  • lol

  • yes davros created the daleks

  • mrs Davros lmao

  • Maybe, but Thatchos is the leader of the UBs

  • tardis console looks better then the white one

  • he looks sexy with a tash, doesn't he? lol

  • actually the new series isn't quite as excellent as what everybody thinks. Well done to RTD for bringing it back but the old series was NEVER slushy American-style teen cheese like it is today. Ok the 80s was crap compared to the brilliance of the 60s and 70s but today is far too girly and oversentimental. If I see the doctor cry again or another bland companion bat her eyelashes him in a god-this-is-so-sickeningly-trite way then I'm going to write-off the revival of Who as a bad idea.

  • You saw the last epidsode of the latest series? Russell T Davies butchered it bigtime.

  • Can't really agree. Yes it was a bit over the top, but not that bad.

  • To be honest, i can't really.agree. Yes, the new series has a different tone than the old series, and yes, it could do with a bit less americanization. (Could be worse: Imagine if Fox had picked up the show after the movie) and also the doctor could do with a bit less emo-isitc tendencies, but "slushy American-style teen cheese" is a tad exageratted imho.

Also, not everything for the 80s was crap: There were bright spots light "Curse of the fenric" and "Vengance of Varos".

  • All entirely subjective, off course. (A propos 80s Who: I think that Colib Baker is an excellent Doctor, when taking the Big-Finish-Audioplays into account).

  • Bright spots? The two episodes you've just named are regarded by some as rubbish. It's all a matter of opinion, I grant you, but they're scarcely generally held to be classics.

Being an American, I'm not sure what you mean by "Americanization"; could you give me some particulars?

  • Being an American, you are an idiot. Those episodes are some of the best writing in the series....ever. People like you give Americans everywhere a bad name. I bet you even voted for the criminal George Bush......

  • And Americans ALWAYS make crap remakes of great shows just so they can hear their stupid accents! Shows like The Office and Life on Mars were originally British, but the yanks HAD to remake them so they could make an even bigger idiot out of Steve Carell and so they could put some "unbeatable American action" into Life on Mars. It makes me SICK!

  • You are right, but all that is nothing compared to how they ruined The Italian Job - the Michael Caine movie.

  • And The Shining. Jack Nicholson was PERFECT for that role! And Psycho! Vince Vaughn can't fucking act! He's got nothing on Anthony Perkins! I HATE IT WHEN THEY DO HALF-ASSED REMAKES OF CLASSICS! MAKES ME WANNA KILL SOMEONE!!!!

  • Frankly, I think both versions of "The Office" are painfully boring, which is why I gave up on the Brit version and won't ever watch the U.S. edition.

  • D'you mind? I was talking to dxanatos2.

But since you've chimed in with that totally over-the-top, too-funny-to-be-taken-seriously bit of flameage, may I just reiterate what dxanatos2 himself (herself?) said: "All entirely subjective of course."

You can like those episodes if you like, nobody's stopping you-- and guess what? I don't think you're an idiot for liking them! But other people are free to think differently, and they're not idiots either.

  • Crap special effects??? That's a hallmark of the original series as a whole. But the effects were never the main focus, and they always did their job of telling the story.

There are only seven stories in the world, so slack can be cut there.

Romana, Tegan, Nyssa, Peri, Mel, and Ace were certainly not sexist; Tegan and Ace especially would eat sexists for lunch.

Davison was a gentle thinker, Colin was in-your-face pragmatism, and Sylvester was whimsical mystery.

  • This sketch is on the second disc of the trial of a time lord box set.

When I saw it I could not stop laughing.

  • I can see Lenny Henry playing the Doctor. He's always played as an eccentric.

The thing with "Thatcheroth" wasn't far from the truth.

  • This is better than Doctor Who its self XD

  • I wouldnt be surprised if Steven Moffat ghost-wrote this

  • That was awesome! Those guys are really good.

  • Lenney Henry the Hary Hill of the 80's

    epic FAIL

  • I WANTED TO SAY THAT!!!

  • Doctor: There's only one thing to do now, but I can't quite remember what it was...

Whatever-her-name-is: Run up and down lots of corridors?

    Doctor: That was the one!!

So true... *thinks about approximately 75% of the new ones* ...yup, still true.

  • :lol That was hillarious.

  • "MRS DAVROS?!"

  • How she must have suffered....

  • I lived in Britain during the Thatcher era. I can't recall anyone having a job except

    1. Mum, Dad, and the parents of most of my friends at Primary School (except for one kid whose Dad was an unemployed librarian though he could've taken another job).

    2. The teachers

    3. The people that worked in the shops.

Everyone else was a unemployed yob.

  • Fantastic! Pure retro.

  • Was this clip from Tizwaz?

  • I remember seeing this clip at a fantasy convention in Chicago called "Scorpio IV!" I've been looking for it ever since! Thank you!

"I'M suppose to do THAT!" Hilarious!

  • Who is the girl? Shes DELICIOUS!!!...;)

  • This was great! one of the best spoofs ever!

  • Davros made the daleks not the cybermen

  • Ya. That bugged me too.

  • Is that cameraman any relation to "Helena Bonham-Carter?"

  • How do you mean?

  • Because his name is listed in the credits as "Philip Bonham-Carter."

  • Ah! I didn't watch the credits. I shouldn't be surprised; I imagine that's a pretty unique moniker even in the land of double-barreled names.

  • do you think, we will ever see a black dr who?

  • I know we haven't seen one yet
