@TheNecroj The fog is actually extra awesome in this game, it has several layers of detail and follows a lot of the same algorithm principles that the noise effect does, so you WILL eventually see some kind of shapes in the fog and think there's something there.

Even if its older, it's a game that was done to immerse you. No onscreen button commands(or health indicators), no continue where you left off when you die, none of that "here's a hint while you wait for the game to load" bullshit. You were ALONE in this town. That's the feeling that the designers wanted to give the player. It's a rarity in games these days.

Why did they have to change the voice acting in the remake of this game in hd? Really, the voice acting in this game added to the confusion of it. You didn't know what anyone was thinking or if there telling the truth.

It's jarring to see how much work they put into cutscenes and then the gameplay is blocky and simplistic, but at least they continue to make progress with each new game (as they should).They ideal, of course, is to get the character models as gorgeous in and out of cutscenes. Also, that leaf crunching was creepy.

Brilliant game, not so much scary as in blood and guts, but mentally.... I love this game, The music is Amazing. Ok so its not the best graphics compared to todays standards, but believe me, get this game on, turn out the lights, volume up! and immerse yourself in it :) SH2 is the best of the series. As we keep getting told, never judge a book by its cover, or in this case a game by its graphics lol Realism isn't everything.. story is whats important.

The only thing that shooked me in this game was when I opened the cabinet, a monster would come out and I would die. Nothing is scarier than Fatal Frame series. Also Resident Evil 1 and 2 has a few scares as well. Silent Hill 1 and 2 is not scary, it was intense as hell through out the whole game!

I found that all the outdoor scenes were way too bright to have the same Silent Hill mood, since the fog was practically white. So I turned my brightness down all the way in the settings menu and it's extra creepy now.
