  • the crowd is so well-behaved too... tho I'd liked to have seen them sing along :)

  • Jammin'... I really enjoy this version... I can't lie :-)

  • Oh my god. I have never seen this preformence.

  • AMAZING.

  • This is pure talent, this is what music and lyrics are..this is what an artist is...Bjork writes/composes/organizes/engineers..and the list goes on...none of this playback lip syncing stuff that has become popular at the end of the 90s..that more than half the artists in the industry do..that shouldn't even be famous or be called artists, seeing as they don't even do anything..just pay people off to write/compose/create for them.I'm not going to drop names but everyone knows who I'm speaking of

  • that fat lady kinda fucked it up

  • Lovely as always :) this trio is amazing!

  • 3:16 Tagaq: WTF?

  • If only there was a tenori-on :)

  • I think that girl doing the chorus sings f***ing wrong and too much and should just do a back chorus or just noises thats it. Else is GREAT Rahzel, and Bjork is THE best artist EVER.

  • @ELchanism ... Tagaq inspired her noisy-breathy-songs from Bjork anyway...

  • I was the 4th person who presset thump down

  • What the fuck did I just watch?

  • i miss patton in this song...

  • Wow. This is really good. It works really well.

  • Björk, Tagaq and Rahzel are my three favourite singers, I died when I heard they worked together! :D

  • Jesus, WTH is throat singing?! I'm really imagining her in the mortal combat game and right above is written: FINISH HER!!

  • i think this video would have been perfectly allright with out throat singing

  • Whos it he girl on the right of screen?

  • @Bluebuthappy182 That should be Tanya Tagaq.

  • love it all. love how prime and bare it is.

  • Maybe no one will recognize that I'm wearing my Stick Around For Joy dress. Here, I'll disguise it with this giant rope.

  • It's great to see these three push each other like this on stage. No one "ruined" this performance. If they couldn't stand up to it they wouldn't be doing it.

Better to play vocally like this then sing the same shit over and over again. The best artists like a challenge :)

  • this is so good. i want more medulla live!

  • OMFG WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT GIRL ! she's almost ruined Björk and the guy's performance ¬¬

  • This is the version that I love! Thank you for uploading it, ^,^

  • the other girl just spoils it - but the man and björk are excellent !

  • What excactly is the other lady doing? Sounds like a noise my dog makes when he wants my attention. I'm aware of Tuvan throat singing but what is she doing? It doesn't sound like she's helping the song.

  • Someone knows what's the name of this event and where I can download it or buy it?

  • this performance is exactly what Medulla was all about

  • stunning performance. this restores my faith in modern music

  • i expected to hear the keys.. but pleasantly surprised! awesome cut (and performance). i took me a min. to appreciate the adlibs but they're cool too. :)

  • Immensely epic.

  • wow, this is brilliant.

  • can you tell the other girl to shut up

  • @thetinowashere ok, i have to admit, i did have that thought for a minute.. lol.

  • @thetinowashere at least what she's doing is interesting and different. i respect rahzel a lot, but it's still the beatboxing we are all used to. tagaq is doing something incredible with traditional inuit throat singing and that is way more fascinating that just listening to what we already know

  • @yanpan16 I get what you mean and im all for being different dude, dont get me wrong. but the feeling of wanting to listen to bjork sign and the beatboxing and it just seems that the girl with the hiccups (lol) just doesnt fit in or whatever. i dont know, i still dont like it but again, its just my opinion. If you like it, then thats cool. =)

  • QUEEN BJORK

  • I love Tanya's work. I first heard her at Cowichan Tribes NAIG 2008

  • I enjoy how the people commenting focus on one negative comment for like, a whole page instead of just letting the guy have his opinion. Who cares if he doesn't like it, especially if you do like it. Defending it won't do anything to change his opinion. Music is like food, some people like certain things, some don't, you can't change someone's mind about it.

  • @ZZLe4Ni: You are perfectly right there! That's just the way it is.

I can well understand that not everyone likes this kind of making music - while it made ME almost cry, because it really touched my heart.

    Thank you for posting it!

  • Wow! I'm so glad this video exists.

  • sooooo good =)

  • she never ceases to amaze me! thanks for posting this!

  • Thank you Bjork!...she have a light!

  • Que gran capacidad de concentración por parte de los tres artistas!!!!!

  • por el amor de Björk!!!! O,o esto me sacó lagrimas de los ojos!!! Amo el arte verdadero!!!

  • I love this version! One of my favorite songs from Medulla!

  • Wow, 3 completely different genres forming to make a masterpiece.

This worked amazingly, I'm sad that she didn't tour Medulla. But if you think about it, the vocals that appear on Medulla, the artists will have sore throats within the first week.

  • Wooow soo amazing!!

  • awkward performance.

  • love her

  • she should have put this on voltaic instead of the church performance

  • i can't believe i had never seen this performance!

so sad she never toured this album, it's a masterpiece!

  • it would be great to have the original version on youtube to compare!!!!

  • Imagine if she had a choir behind her outline the harmonic changes of the song

  • man, there's some incredible moments in here.

  • can you post more pretty please???

  • where did you get this?

  • this is the most musical thing i've heard in a while.. people who think tanya tagaq detracts from this performance have a very marginal understanding of music

  • all three fit perfectly!!

so beautiful! and dynamic in its bjorkish natural way...

tanya adds especially engery and dynamic in this performance..

    just great, really great

    and björks voice sounds amazing

  • loooove inuit throat singing, this is a glorious version. Such a beautiful song.

  • wooooooooow!!!! The first time I heard this song it was on TV, that show, and I was like shocked, so GREEEAAAAAAT!!!!!! Love this song!!!! I love Bjork music, and those 3 together are so talented!

  • beautiful

  • i love tagaq in this! i don't think it's ridiculous at all. it's just different to what some people are used to

  • Beautiful

  • Tagaq is doing a great performance here as well. If you look at it from an artists point of view, it's truly amazing. You got a beatboxer and a throat singer making music together, and Bjork with her vocals. Three people from different "groups" making music - And in the end it doesn't really matter if it sounds perfect or not.

  • Lazer Cont.: It is also pointless to perform a song live in the hopes that it will beEXACTLY like the album version? thats not what people pay for &its certainly not what Bjork is known for. If you personaly don't like it then say so but it seems like over reacting when you call a group of professional music artist "stupid".

  • Exactly. The thing with Bjork is that she always makes an effort to bring her audience a new experience.

There's always something new- Which means that you can go to her concerts over and over again, and hear something new every time. That is how artists should work - You don't wanna go to a concert to hear the exact same thing as you could on your mp3.

  • Lazer really? cause you're not very sharp at all. "Beatboxing like a real human being" since when has Bjork or her colabs. ever sounded mainstream or even "human" at all. Isn't the purpose of music(and espec. her) to transport the listener or to give the listener an other worldly experience?

  • No. It's just expreinceing this world in an other way--a mode of vision. A renewal of sorts.

  • C'etait la première fois que Tanya TagaQ et Razhel performaient ensemble. Tous les trois sont incroyables!!

  • I can't believe I understood that but yes they sound amazing

  • fucking awesome vocals, and instruments, wow.....i love her work, always surprizing.

  • wow. in this performance they also did The Pleasure is All Mine. Does anyone have the link for that?! can't find it anywhere

  • Tanya Tagaq and Susan Aglukark should sing together, it would be a good one

  • Best ...A cappella...Ever...

  • This is what live music should be. This is my fave Bjork song, but I don't think I've ever heard a better version.

  • I liked this.

It has interesting tweaks from when they did the original on the album.

  • It's called Inuit throat singing and it's a longstanding tradition in the Inuit culture.

  • look ok u like it and it's fine with me..i won't start a conversation...u like it.i don't.i love singing and i sing.i just realy dont like this way of singing...i mean Tagaq's vocals..i dont know they dont sound like singing!

  • brazelliant! bjorkiful!!!

  • Amazing... +P brilliant... and i wish i had the pleasure of makign such music.. =P

  • Beatbox and Bjork.. fuckin epic!!!

    i love it!

  • i love how tanya is looking like shes having so much fun in this. amazing performance by all 3

  • Awesome!

Only one question: Where's Patton? :D

  • i love this 3 people can just come togegher and make music out of their mouths

  • Beat Boxer LOL

    Throat singer,

    And fuck your comment =3.

  • Look up inuit throat singing. I'm sure you'll appreciate her performance much more once you know what she's actually doing.

It's quite interesting because throat singing is not normally used in a context such as this, yet it's done so well.

  • Actually, Tanya Tagaq is in the album version. So is Rahzel. This is just a different version.

  • i know, but on the record she's not making these ridiculous fucking noises, she's just beatboxing like a real human being

  • music is amoral, so your judgements and personal perceptions of a sound mean nothing, it's your own view that is a little ridiculous--all huffy and puffy about some form of art. If you think it's ridiculous then just laugh about it.

  • bjork is screaming like a bastard too

i mean it's just about the feeling - the music

for me its on of the best bjork performances ever

tanya adds so much and she does those noises on the record too

  • awesome performance!

  • Magic, indeed.

  • it's called throat-singing and the girl's name is tagaq.

  • Indeed. Canadian culture, yo!

  • and of course I meant Tagaq. I know bjork is Icelandic

  • tagaq - tooo much gtfo ...

    lol

    this is farking awsome !!!!

  • ?Arr? tagaq rulezz

  • This is what its all about. :)

  • i'm so in love with this performance

  • Thanks for uploading. I love to see Rahzel and Bjork at work. on the same stage!

  • the pleasure is all mine ;)

  • Nah...Rahzel is perfectionist...Bjork is the same...but why Tagaq?

    .a

  • i love tagaq with this! very distinct and not a waste in this piece

  • that was wicked ! bjork & rahzel work well together. never thought of it before :)

aww sorry tagaq but it just wasnt happening for me :(

  • Tagaq ruins it a bit in my opinion

    still amazing though

Id love to see this live

  • Mindblowing performance!

Thank you so much for uploading it!

  • you're welcome :)
