In most cases, I don't like delay that much, I think that a good solid reverb is enough for a deep shredding sound, but in this it sounds really vicious!

first of all you dont always have to use speed, somes guys that shreds sounds like crap and doesnt really know what theyre doing, speed help for your fingers to get use to the guitar,riffs,soloing and even chords, it also helps to lossen up your fingers. You start out with basics like chords for instance,scales,harmonics,tapp­ing and so on.
