I guess I can agree with that. But Bruce Lee was a good fighter, we know he can fight at least well seeing as he took a crap load of Martial arts and made movies where he performs Martial arts moves. So he can't really be a bad fighter. I think Bruce Lee was one of the best, you can think what you want. bruce had the best attitude to fighting of the time and opened up many peoples eyes it was his idea to have his students to wear padded gloves which are now in mma. he also said it was better to have ur students spar entensively without rules rather have them compete in a tournement because all tournements have rules exept for vale tudo. if u have your students spar as often as possible thats what builds skill and thats what he did
the only thing pro fighting does for the individual is give them experience of how it feels to be hit and hit. in reality it also trains u to fight with rules people always say oh he never faught professionaly but being a pro fighter doesnt make u the best it only means u get paid to fight. a friend of my fathers had never faught pro before yet broke a golden gloves boxers jaw in a fight

Bruce Lee was the best in the sense he went one step forward by combining philosophy and martial art, giving feeling and live to martial art, making combative art more practical and powerful. Bruce out think all other fighters at that time. That's what make him apart from other fighters.
JKD is a style in itself many confuse JKD with JKD concepts and believe it has no style, Jun Fan JKD is a style Bruce lee developed himself and has set structure, he even mentions how he did not want to solidify something liquid but had to and once students learn this basic style they then can go off and do whatever i know this bco i do Jun Fan JKD by instructor was taught by a man named mark who was taught by ted wong many of you wont believe me but i assure you its true!!!!
you're right and i agree. i didnt take JKD but i have read about its concepts. Lee was afraid of the confusion people would have about style. Everyone needs to learn and start from the basics. He was a firm believer in individualism, but one can only achieve this after they have some set structure. He believed Martial Arts to be a form of self expression. There's no possible way to teach someone how to express themselves that is something that one must achieve on their own. No Way is Way.

MMA is all about two fighters going into a ring and pitting themselves against each other aswell. Its needless to compare Bruce Lee with MMA people because Bruce Lee does do mixed martial and he is concerned with the ultimate reality of spontaneous combat in all its forms. What Bruce Lee practices is closer to MMA than the style called MMA which has recently began to crystallize. BTW I am not disclaiming MMA in any way. Its clearly bad ass.

Full Contact Arena is where you train & condition your body for impact Asshole. How will you know if you can take a punch kick or groundfight without full contact MMA competitions. And you can use MMA techniques in the street Fuckbrain way more effective than fake jkd.

I understand where you're coming from MasterPervy123. Competition is a way to test your technique and apply what you have learned practically. However, this is only one aspect of being a martial artist. My personal belief is that you have to have a strong mind, body, and spirit. Through competion these aspects are revealed. But besides testing one's skill and technique there must also be respect and honor. Whether it is practical or not is up to the individual. Fighting is not everything in MA
People today equate MA with "kicking ass", Bushido to them means "slicing people with sword". They don't know it's an entire way of life and about body discipline more than self defence or fatal offense.
In case you didnt know Bruce lee won a boxing champion chip.He also won multiple recorded street fights agenst people like you that said he was a fake. Not only did he win them, he destroyed the guy in less then like 5 seconds.Bruce was the one that basically invented full out combat sparring. He was the first guy to take asian martial arts and put some safty gear on and say "Lets see what we can do!" We ALL need to give Bruce the respect he deserves. Bruce was doing MMA in the early 70's. Bruce is responsible for the Karate boom in the USA. Without Bruce,there is NO interest in karate in America. Just look at the MMA gloves Bruce wears in the 1973 film "Enter the Dragon. Bruce IS MMA.
if you imagine bruce lee at his peak fighting one of todays mma fighters, i think i would still stake on lee, because he does use alot of fast movements but he was also a keen studier of grappling and ground wrestling techniques aswell
waht i really like about his training techniques is that he lets that guy figue it out for himself, he only adds in little comments on how to improve.. now most people wuld just show them how to do it and when they stuffed it up they wuld show them again.. i respect that kind of training

I feel he gets WAAAAY too much credit without documented proof of him kicking so much ass. Reading a book, that had to be entertaining in order to sell, is one thing. I guess I can agree with that. But Bruce Lee was a good fighter, we know he can fight at least well seeing as he took a crap load of Martial arts and made movies where he performs Martial arts moves. So he can't really be a bad fighter. I think Bruce Lee was one of the best, you can think what you want. But he's one of my heros, and one of the reasons why people like me (Asian) are more excepted in the United States, first Asian man to star in a American movie, and he literally fought for it

bruce had the best attitude to fighting of the time and opened up many peoples eyes it was his idea to have his students to wear padded gloves which are now in mma. he also said it was better to have ur students spar entensively without rules rather have them compete in a tournement because all tournements have rules exept for vale tudo. if u have your students spar as often as possible thats what builds skill and thats what he did

JKD is a style in itself many confuse JKD with JKD concepts and believe it has no style, Jun Fan JKD is a style Bruce lee developed himself and has set structure, he even mentions how he did not want to solidify something liquid but had to and once students learn this basic style they then can go off and do whatever i know this bco i do Jun Fan JKD by instructor was taught by a man named mark who was taught by ted wong many of you wont believe me but i assure you its true!!!!

you're right and i agree. i didnt take JKD but i have read about its concepts. Lee was afraid of the confusion people would have about style. Everyone needs to learn and start from the basics. He was a firm believer in individualism, but one can only achieve this after they have some set structure. He believed Martial Arts to be a form of self expression. There's no possible way to teach someone how to express themselves that is something that one must achieve on their own. No Way is Way.

MMA is all about two fighters going into a ring and pitting themselves against each other aswell. Its needless to compare Bruce Lee with MMA people because Bruce Lee does do mixed martial and he is concerned with the ultimate reality of spontaneous combat in all its forms. What Bruce Lee practices is closer to MMA than the style called MMA which has recently began to crystallize. BTW I am not disclaiming MMA in any way. Its clearly bad ass.

I understand where you're coming from MasterPervy123. Competition is a way to test your technique and apply what you have learned practically. However, this is only one aspect of being a martial artist. My personal belief is that you have to have a strong mind, body, and spirit. Through competion these aspects are revealed. But besides testing one's skill and technique there must also be respect and honor. Whether it is practical or not is up to the individual. Fighting is not everything in MA

In case you didnt know Bruce lee won a boxing champion chip.He also won multiple recorded street fights agenst people like you that said he was a fake. Not only did he win them, he destroyed the guy in less then like 5 seconds.Bruce was the one that basically invented full out combat sparring. He was the first guy to take asian martial arts and put some safty gear on and say "Lets see what we can do!" Well im sure he probly knew more about fighting than you give him credit for. Even if he wasent the best he had been doing martial arts sense he was a little kid and never stopped until he died, you cant not be good lol And the first real martial arts in the 20th century were not really MMA cause it was just Japanese martial arts. After WWII we tought many American soldiers our fighting techniques. But Bruce brought Martial arts into the public eye, this was the start of MMA.

I'm pretty sure if you were to ask Duran if he wanted to fight Bruce Lee in his prime, he would say, "No". I pretty sure no one in their right mind would've wanted to fight him. He got his back broke in a fight and while he was rehabing he developed a new fighting system that transended fighting. lazur1...i have stayed away from insults and kept to the warrior's path. you simply ignore facts and make up your own version of the truth. Bruce Lee was that good but you come with idiocy. There is no man alive that could beat him in a straight fight. UFC and MMA is a watered down wrestling/kick boxing sport, just like hockey or any other sport. If you want real fighting watch any of the chinese kumite fighting where people get killed. i will post some links.
