During the time of making the film when mikuru uses "mikuru beam" she is wearing a colored contact. If you notice a light comes from her eye at one point, then Nagato jumps onto her. Because haruhi has he "god" ability when mikuru where's the colored contact she actually shoots a laser from her eye. (which negato catches before kyon gets his brain shot out.) Negato

They never show the "making of" episode. Which is a shame. The deal is that Haruhi is SO excited about making a movie that the stuff in the script has started to become real. i.e. The cat talking and the Mykuru Beam.
