Sure, people can donate just because they want to but people going the extra step by shaving their head to bring in even more money and awareness is amazing and a wonderful sacrifice. If only there were more people like this woman.

@philbio66 Ah....I do realise that and addressed it. It's a gimmick to draw people in to donate. Every charity and cause promotes itself in a way that encourages people to donate who otherwise might not or might not donate as much. eg: Buying a ribbon shows other people you support a particular charity...it's a pay off. Yes, people donate out of the goodness of their hearts but charities would be foolish not to draw as much as they can. No brainer really....

@philbio66 I doesn't show that at all. Who is to say that if approached to donate purely to donate, that they wouldn't have done it anyway? As kids, I lost count of the number of walk-a-thons we did where we were sponsored for every kilometre we walked, the money going to various charities. Does that mean my parents, neighbours & relatives didn't give a shit unless we walked a long distance? Of course not.

My PE teacher is a breast cancer survivor. She shaved her head once her hair started falling out and came to school bold and pride. :)
