Hmm...I personally tink it's not tt they got nutting to do..is most of them got abandon by their family n they haf to earn a living tt's y they r doing this. Just imagine, if u r really having a happy life with ur grown up kids, do u really wanna do all this things? U will instead stay at hm to play wif ur grand-children right? That's y deep in my heart...i feel sorry for them.

nixredew: these elderly just want to earn money themselves rather than just letting their children support them. it's an asian culture that they want to be self-sufficient. they weren't educated in the past, therefore they can only do these sort of menial jobs to support themselves.

I don't know if this sounds silly, but why are they working? Shouldn't they be resting at home and their kids looking after them? also I asked a friend once about them and she said they don't want to stay home cos they're bored.. :/ very hardworking people

what happens when you dont have money? what happens when your unfillal children refuses to take care of you ? this is wat happens some times that they are forced to work when they are at a old age.

omg.. i cannot believe that there are senior citizens that are homeless and beggars in singapore. this is so different from what is shown in newspaper and tv when we visited the country

so far i know, many beggers in HDB, 4-Horse Road and other parts of Singapore are professional, many of them came in by van holding visitor pass...
