That photo was taken in the Cetatea, the hilltop medieval fortress of Sighisoara. I do not remember the exact location of that house, as I was there in 2006, but it is in the southern part of the Cetatea. I believe the house is located somewhere between the Casa cu Cerb Hotel and the "Church on the hill" and High School.

Start at the Vlad Tepes Birth House, which faces the little plaza and the Monastery Church. Go around the side of the Vlad Tepes House and walk towards the hill... midway up this street, the house with the nice courtyard will be on your right.

my first advice is related to staying over night. there are several hotels/motels up in the old part of Sighisoara. Also, the old part is the one worth visiting. You have a catholic church, a protestant church, there is the tower which has a clock that is still working, even after so many centuries, below the tower there's a torture room, which is small, but gives you goosebumps, believe me. another interesting thing would be the medieval weapons museum, and there are many other stuff to visit .
it's a joke, the bell tower is typical Saxon and Hungarian built, the city's real name is Segesvar built by Hungarians and the fortress was againt Turkish empire , Romania was nowhere, after the Roman empire they were owned by the turkish. I wouldnt say these pictures can give you an idea what the town is like. I have been to a couple of top holiday destinations (not too many frankly) but Sighisoara has a charm and atmosphere that is hard to match. I have been there twice and I cant imagine myself not visiting the town again. It is WELL WORTH VISITING. Incredible and fantastic place to unwind and get under magic aura which you will find round each and every corner.

Sighisoara ii singura cetate medievala locuita din SE Europei, si a doua din Europa (cealalta fiind Carcassone, in Italia). In plus, pe Dealul Turcului (din apropiere) s-au descoperit unelte din paleolitic (pe baza lor fiind descrisa si "perioada" sau "cultura" Wietenberg, tipica pentru Sighisoara. Sa fim mandri ca aveam asa o bijuterie in tara noastra!

my first advice is related to staying over night. there are several hotels/motels up in the old part of Sighisoara. Also, the old part is the one worth visiting. You have a catholic church, a protestant church, there is the tower which has a clock that is still working, even after so many centuries, below the tower there's a torture room, which is small, but gives you goosebumps, believe me. another interesting thing would be the medieval weapons museum, and there are many other stuff to visit .

it's a joke, the bell tower is typical Saxon and Hungarian built, the city's real name is Segesvar built by Hungarians and the fortress was againt Turkish empire , Romania was nowhere, after the Roman empire they were owned by the turkish. I wouldnt say these pictures can give you an idea what the town is like. I have been to a couple of top holiday destinations (not too many frankly) but Sighisoara has a charm and atmosphere that is hard to match. I have been there twice and I cant imagine myself not visiting the town again. It is WELL WORTH VISITING. Incredible and fantastic place to unwind and get under magic aura which you will find round each and every corner.

Anyway you can say that the hunarians had occupied sighisoara and had translated Segusvar into Segesvar. You can say that this is the hard work you've done. Not translated, because that town yet before 1337 was a part of Hungarian Kingdom. The name of the river next to the town is Segesd ( Sure from latin name, too :).From the 14th century Segesvár was a free royalty town.And did you know that, II. Géza, hungarian emperor deployed saxon settlements to Segesvár.So pls dont say me, that the name is originated from romanian or latin language.

what do I deserve, we go there, we are friendly with the people, but when they hear that we speak hungarian, or see our hungarian serial number on the car, they start to look at us and telling idiot things in half rumanian half hungarian, I wouldn't say this if I'd met at least one normal, friendly person, but I didn't, everybody was full of hate and preconception, very different people, from old people to young idiots and in very different cities and places.

You did the same in 1919, we had no army due to our communist traitor government and you came, in the wwI. we fought for 2 years when you joined the war suddenly in 1916. due to a backdeal with the french, and stabbed us in our back, but the szeklers stopped you in Transylvania and when the others arrived we kicked your ass back to bucuresti, don't forget. so in a 1-1 fight we will be always stronger, especially if we have a normal government, but at the moment nobody wants war.

yeah, alex, this is what I call assimilation, if you learn in rumanian school, and you are surrounded by rumanians in a country where the majority dislike the hungarians, then some people rather chose to be rumanian, just try to live in a country where dislike your origin so much. and of course he won't have rumanian girlfriend and won't be a friend of you if he would be proud of his origin and spoke hungarian, so simple, you like him because he behave like a rumanian

they don't behave like romanians seriosly, one of them haves a flag with hungary home the other one is very proud about his origins we talk history sometimes friendly, but they know they are a minority and any miniorty of a contrie needs to learn the contrie's language to implement his social life there noobster

and in that time romanians were ban at cities by hungarian regime, because you are racist you always think superior, why we give you many rights and try to live with your minority population in our land peacefuly and you in history not did the same? we tolarate your hun extremist to much and i think you should let go, romania is stronger 22 milion population against 11 huns? we only send the minners and they get in budapest we don't need to send any army or something

so once again, it is a Hungarian-saxon city, it's ancient buildings were built by saxons (who were settled there by our king, II. Géza) and hungarians, and I think the most ancient churches there are not orthodox ones. so if we owned Segesvár and other Hungarian cities again, then it wouldn't be 80% rumanian, and the other cities neither, we could do the same assimilation policy like you do, with the difference, that we have the right

and btw my grandfather was in romanian army in the west front to eliberate hungary, austria, cehoslovacia from fascism shoot 2 tiumes that didin't kil him but anyway you hungarians should be more respectful with us cause we respect your region populatin respect ours, we were in ww2 at stalingrad in few days and after few days we were in budapest, don't test our rush
