after i watched this video, my insight is very open because the video Double integrals in polar coordinates; applications is very good to give information
Petty arguments between an Aerospace Engineering graduate student at Caltech and an international olympiad participant at the level of Grade 4 playground insults. You would think that being educated mathematically/physically translates to higher level cognition when communicating with other people? Think again.
@jainv0905 If you use Firefox, then there's an extension (addon) called Video Downloadhelper. That is better than YouTube Downloader and it allows you to download videos from a lot of different websites. If you have any further questions, then let me know.
I'm really disappointed by all the arguing in the comments section though... I would have imagined the people watching these lectures to educated, respectful and science-focused rather than hateful. Knowledge and wisdom, curiosity and doubt, that is the very essence of the scientific spirit. I sincerely hope that both gentlemen will eventually come to understand that if one's interest and passion about the scientific ideal is sincere, one must listen with respect.
The thing about you is that when you can't present facts or say something true everything you say is offensive and lacks substance. Really learn something true about Greece and not only the propaganda crap. Judging by your username either you are a brazilian or it's a complex that you want to be shown as one. Anyway if you are a brazilian keep in mind that when we built the Acropolis you were hanging over trees in the amazon and right now "Brasil" is all about drugs, sluts and football. So STFU!
Prof Auroux is whack!!!!!!! Reminds me of my multivariable calculus teacher Dr. M Kappos. MIT is also whack but i'm jealous of all these students who go there cause they have money. Most of them are nothing compared to the students in my school in terms of intelligence...
@savvasik21 jealous much? MIT is the number one technical college in the world, in otherwords they ARE smarter than the students in ur school. BTW no uni in greece is even in top 100 so quiet there
@dfszinho02 Yeah you tell me about smartness. The fact that MIT has more money and better teachers doesn't mean that the students are smarter. They are just rich faggots who are trained to show smart. Greeks are historically smart and don't judge our universities cause in MIT there are about 10 greek professors and many graduate students who came there from greek unis. I don't trust that top list. And i was in the mathematics olympiad so you can't be cleverer than me.
@savvasik21 Have u ever heard of admissions? MIT admits only 10% of all applicants and 70% need financial aid, that aid being 35,000$/yr. So they're not RICH FAGGOTS like you claim. If greeks are so smart, how come greece is 400 billion in debt. As for being 'cleaverer'. I taught myself advanced mathimatics when i was 14 and scored a prefect 990 on the GRE for MAth. Right now i attend CALTECH for grad school in aerospace engineering.
@dfszinho02 You are really dumb if you match the smartness of the greeks with the debt that the government created. It is not greek people's fault. I have been accepted in the Imperial College of London but due to money problem i could not go. Anyway I study electrical engineering in NTUA (which has a HUGE amount of scientists all over the world) and have taught myself vector calculus before uni and C++ before uni. And its cleverer not cleaverer. Learn proper english.
@savvasik21 Your hilarious attempt to "top" my achievements failed pretty hard. So i'm going to destroy your little response. 1- i didnt know that the government in greece weren't greeks 2-Imperial college is shit and if u are smart you would have gotten a scholarship.3- Greek schools are shit 4- ur english comprehension skills failed there because i was simply making fun of you. Even through youtube i can tell u speak like a huge fob. (look it up)
@dfszinho02 Wow! I'm devastated. Everything you say about scholarships and aids by universities is pure bullshit cause they support just a part of your education and none of your living there. So I cannot live in Boston even with the 35000$ granted by MIT for overseas students. Secondly what you know about greek history and governments is what you get by listening to the news propaganda and not reading an encyclopedia.
@savvasik21 Acutually Universities support you fully but thanks for talking about things you know nothing about. BTW maybe calling someone a fag is a terrible insult in greece where ppl are extremely homophobic and one dimensional. Here its just some ignorant shit trolling. Futhermore stop replying with your really lame attempts to save some face. WTF balls as big as balloons what are u talking about... acutually don't i dont give a shit
@dfszinho02 Furthermore say whatever you want about greek schools. You just prove that you know shit about academic education. Finally you have made my balls look like ballons so.... Whatever FAG!!
@savvasik21 the lectures that are uploaded from MIT are pretty informing (and helpful) whether you think professors are idiots or not. And an advice , being arrogant is not a bad thing , being arrogant with nothing extraordinary to prove extraordinary claims gives other people a good reason to think that you are also an idiot.
@dfszinho02 you say you are both smart , but your conversation was not intellectual at all
@savvasik21 HAHA, I just had to comment. Its actually "more clever." YOU learn proper english. This argument is the funniest thing ive heard in a while.

This guy is crystal clear when he lectures. Absolutely phenomenal. I would have loved to take this guy for all of my Math classes. It would have been amazing.
Ok, correct me if im wrong but, when he is calculating the area of a Quarter disc of radius one we could do (to make sure of our answer)
A = (pi*r^2)/4... A = pi/4... why does he say it is pi/8?
With the double integral should be the same... i think he should not integrate the function times r... it is just the double integral of r dr dø, with those same limits, and it results in pi/4. Can someone tell me what is going on? Because i would not dare say he is wrong =D
@aVerKePedo So the thing that's happening here is that he's not finding the area of a circle, he's finding the volume of a region above a surface that 'looks' like a circle. What he plots there is the base of the surface, which is where you get your bounds of integration from.
If he was finding the area of a circle, the double integral of r*dr*dø with those bounds would indeed be correct and would yield pi/4 because the formula for the circle would be sqrt(x^2+y^2) = r = 1.

I agree, it's really just an issue of ego, which everyone seems to gain too much of when going to college.
Once they lose their ego, they might actually learn something.
