  • excelent review.

  • my favourite track is The Created Void.

    Amazing song

  • good album, but define the great line is still underoaths best work.

  • best album, EVER made, In history, lyrics could make me me cry on how simply beautiful, yet so intercate.

    well said :D<3

  • If you want a life, go get one

  • why buy?? when u have lime wire ^.^ lol jk jk anyway for all of u haters leave the guy alone gosh

  • what is the point of watching this.... lol just some random guy takin about the music. just listen to the music ur self

  • nice. dissing a guy via internet. u must have some cahones. and if u r a guy, ur a fag for even commenting on my looks. and if ur a chick, u must be a pretty ugly one if u have to comment on guys looks on the computer. just saying.

  • it was spee singing tbtstlth

  • ure also forgetting act of depreesion is 10:22 long-thats the longest

  • when ugly faggots like the same bands as me, i like the band less..

  • Learn how to fucking talk you speech dificated mother fucker

  • Learn how to fucking spell you ingnorant mother fucker. Its an impediment if anything,

  • haha the dude in this reveiw is a loser. i dont get why ppl make reveiws for cds. Still an amazing album though.

  • lol, good album. Weird review... Good thoughts, but if you can't speak English, don't speak English...

  • Lol, those were my exact thoughts on the album xD

Desolate Earth :: The End is Here is one of my favorite songs EVER.

  • on Desolate Earth :: The End Is Here, i actually think that Aaron is screaming.

idk, it sounds more like him than Spencer.

    right?

  • come to think of it, i do remember one song where at the end of a line it sounded like aaron screamed.

  • yeah that's what i thought. =]

  • no, its spencer, if you listen to it closley you can tell its spencer, then voice is sort of scratchy, and, when i saw them live it was like an intermission song, spencer was the one who sung it

  • Its definately spencer.

  • it's spencer because Aaron doesn't scream. Spencer did it live.

  • yeah he screams like he does in the almost.

and this new album was a continuation of define the great line.

  • omg hes just reading a online review

  • no, he wrote it

  • he probably typed his up on his computer, like, little notes to remember it. I'm sure he didn't go to ANOTHER website, and take a review calling it his own.

    :p

    good review btw.

  • Nice vid dood!!!

  • lol you have to buy it too bud

  • good review

  • wow do you not have any friends or sommat? good analysis but i cant believe you even spent time doing that, i cant believe i even spent time watching it

  • spencer sings on too bright to see too loud to hear up until the line 'still get us home'

  • you rock

  • i have the album, i bought it at Target the day it came out for 11 bucks. as he said, BUY IT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. it is definatley worth it. this album is more definitive in so many ways. the sound is just so low decibel on emergency broadcast u just say, "teh, fuckin' sweet."

  • I started to play Desolate Earth :: The End Is Here towards the end of your video and it started to sound really good, Fault Line, A Fault Of Mine is by far there best track.. maybe one of there best theyve ever made, this album is worth buying its so fucking good.

  • I bought the Deluxe edition of this album which as most people know there has been a delay on it getting here so if u bought it tooth & nail sent u a link to download it and the whole thing is amazing!

  • and it's matt goldman, not mike goldman

  • it's desolate earth, the end is here not the end is near

  • They're Only Chasing Safety was an instant classic for me. Define the Great Line took time to grow on me. I feel as though, LITSOS will also take time to grow on me. I ended up appreciating Define the Great Line after I took it all in.

  • TOCS is definately not a classic. DTGL and LITSOS are clearly better. TOCS was just filled with a bunch of catchy choruses and nothing more.

  • Well, you have to take into the fact that the drumming is the result of Aaron realizing that his main role in this band is to produce a heart throbbing beat.

Even though in songs like Desperate Times, Desperate Measures you hear him singing the chorus, you see Spencer completely dominating the intro and breakdown with Aaron pitching in the background.

Aaron has gone back to the old Underoath's root by providing the melodic, continuous beats, which Underoath desperately needed.

  • adam did all the drums pretty much, aaron just played them. watch the dvds of both dtgl and this new record. aaron is incredible "we are the involuntary" is my fav song on the CD by far.

  • mike goldman did the drums,

but the guy who mixed it replaced most of it

    the drums sound FKN TIGHT,

it was well mixed, but mike goldman wouldnt have put so much reverb and compression on the drums, hes not like that!!

  • did you check out 'the created void' or 'the only surviver was miraculusly unharmed'? those are two other amazing ones

i completely agree with get the whole album...for it is amazing!

and yes, it is deffinately aaron singing.

nice review man, keep it up

i also do reviews, check it out if your heart so desires (great...im turning into a youtube whore...)

    peace!

  • No offense man, but try not to sound so "official" next time you do a review, if you ever do another one.

Overall, a valid review. Some of your critiques about Spencer's "better screaming than Define the Great Line but that's not saying much" I don't agree with. I think he's matured greatly over the course of the past 2 albums.

This album shows that Spencer's taking the lead role. You don't see Aaron jammed into random places in the song anymore.

  • you're reviewing a record you don't even own. incredible.

  • i didn't at the time no, but i'd heard all the songs on youtube.

but i got the special edition now :)

  • dude they were workin on a different sound. it doesnt sound anything like define the great line

  • dude ya on umm...... crap i forgot the name....

too bright to see to loud to hear? i think thats it, the slower song but anyways its aaron at first then spencer sings, like actually sings more than half of it.

  • shut up dude you dont know what your talking about..your just some stupid random kid with something stupid to say..your not a good critic at all!!

  • i just got the new CD today, and its mazeing, i love it!

  • yup yup...really good album, i bought it the day it came out

  • yeah well i had to wait and buyt it tonight when i got me some money. but i love it,definantly worth waiting for

  • oh yeah definately

  • Iou're an idiot. You cant say this sure isn't a remake of define the great line. If you would watch the making of lost in the sound of seperation aaron actually says they wanted to make an record that follow define the great line. This whole record was based off of define the great line they just tried new stuff. I love this album. It's some of Underoaths best work ever. If you're really an Underoath fan then why are you criticsizing their work... ?

  • i didn't criticize their work...

  • yea, I love how the intro sounds shitty on purpose so that it could come in and blow your head off. its AMAZING

the part where you cant tell if spencer or aaron is singing, are you talking about where it says "how they knew that this would happen. they knew they knew that this would"?

    that part is spencer.

  • dude, getting kinda frustrated about people not buying a cd that you dont have

    XD

sorry, no offense, i just thought that was pretty funny :)

i was kinda distracted by the fan

  • Looks like he's just reading a review right off the interent. Me, I absolutly love the album.

  • well....you're wrong...i was reading what i typed out...

  • Well, excuse me for not seeing your computer screen. Not trying to bash on your video

  • i know it was just FWI

  • FYI, my bad

  • YOU"RE A FUCKIN TOOL

  • I love your critique. No one does this. I might do it myself.

A Fault Line, A Fault of Mine and Coming Down is Calming Down are my two faves.

  • its good but it could be a lot better. and i dont think u mentioned "a fault line, a fault of mine" which is my fav track!

  • Cool.

    :]

  • If anyone's interested, as soon as I get a chance I'll be putting up a review of Act of Depression...so, yeah...be looking for that lol

  • dude,i freaking love you man! i already heard the entire album and downlaoded it but im still gunna buy it when its released.. i really appreciate your inputs and im one of the most hardcore crazy underoath fan you will ever know ;D this album is amazing, the one that stood out to me most is COOLING DOWN IS CALMING DOWN..the ending of this song is amazing ...REDEMPTION!!

  • lmao dude it's a great album, but not the best by UnderOATH, Cries of the Past is the best

  • agreed, they are most definitly getting mack into their roots. the album almost reminds me a little of the chariot/norma jean style, which is awesome.

  • Good review. It really is a good album. I have downloaded it, but I'm soo in love with it, I'm buying atleast two copies. I wanna find that golden ticket.

  • thanks at least someone appreciated the review lol

  • good luck haha. Nice review as well.

  • 3:43 to about 4:02. Chris Crocker, the return.

  • seriously how was that anything like chris crocker??

  • dude 5/6th is a bad fraction ha, jp

  • lmao yea i realized that like as soon as i saw it on youtube lol

  • hey dude, u truly are an underoath fan. this makes me want to make review videos. it is more entertaining however to read the comments making fun of you than it is watching the video. lol

  • hello massive gay, listen to the music and enjoy it, don't give your uneducated opinion on it. and the first song was awesum, not the approach u moron. please stop talking.

  • if you don't agree with me ok, i don't really care if you do. all i was doing was reviewing the damn album. if there's a law against that please tell me

  • thanks dude, thanks for preparing me for what kinda stuff is in the album, especially the way u explained the beginning it makes me so sike to buy and hear the album, thanks for your' input, and it was probably aaron singing because aaron has a singing voice and spencer has a speaking voice when he tries to sing like aaron...

  • Your a fag. Its most likely that you are reading that off someones blog. Stop posting videos on youtube , because noone cares for what you have to say.

  • actually believe it or not i didn't. the reason i was looking away from the camera was i was reading what i typed out, because i have a bad problem with stuttering and not knowing what to say, causing awkward silences and not being able to say everything i needed because of a time limit on the video recorder. and if im a fag because i reviewed a CD, then aren't you one because you basically reviewed my review?

Long story short, take your dick out of your dads ass and get a life

  • and obviously people care, because this video has over 400 views.

  • i pre-order it on itunes...can't wait

  • Where are you from?

  • does it matter?

  • It doesnt really I was just wondering cuz my friend thought he knew you or seen u at school or sumtin and I was jw if u were from around here but dats kool I understand why u dont wanna say its all good....and good vid too dude

  • well where you from

  • Cape Girardeau, Mo.

  • Wilmington, NC

  • O ok I was right he didnt know u thanx man!

  • lmao no problem dude

  • That's where I live haha.

  • heh like where? Castle Hayne, Carolina Beach, where?

  • Carolina Beach.

  • do you go to Ashley?

  • no.

    i take it you do?

  • yup. where do you go?

  • No way broski..haha..he does sound a little stupid man, can deny that..how can you say to begin, Breathing in a new mentality he opens up with "awkward drumming, and spencer sounding terrible" thats kinda bad to say if you love the album

  • if you watched the whole review you'd understand where i was going was that. the sound at first wasn't good, but what they were actually doind with it was awesome

  • and I love how you mentioned NOTHING about the best song on the album A Fault Line, A Fault Of Mine. or The Created Void another GREAT SONG! you're retarded

  • no, everyone is entitled to their own opinion

  • spencer and aaron sing on to bright to see, too loud to hear on the first part. and yeah dude underoath deserves the money. everyone who wants it should buy it. nice review btw.

  • hey. wat is the youtube user with all the songs. how do you spell it?

  • m0py

  • yah that guy. He also is putting a link that takes you to some dumb site that lets you download the whole album even though its not out yet. Its horrible. What fan would cheat the band so bad?

  • what i did was get the album off limewire for my MP3, but I'm still gonna buy the actual CD

  • Thats alright i guess

as long as u don't mind that limewire is illegal

  • it's one of those laws that aren't really enforced, you know?

  • Yepp thats true, and "airjordanballa20", is a retard.

  • I have the actually CD, the best songs in my opinion are "A Fault Line, A Fault Of Mine", "Emergency Broadcast :: The End Is Near", "We Are The Involuntary", and "The Created Void". Also you can get the CD on Torrents.

  • you mean like limewire?

  • My favorite songs are "A Fault Line, Fault Of Mine", "Emergency Broadcast :: The End Is Near", "We Are The Involuntary" and "The Created Void". All are amazing great review and the whole album is on torrents in 320kbps quality... 320kbps Quality is the same exact

  • you kinda' messed up with Emergency Broadcast :: The End Is Near, the end is Emergency Broadcast :: The End Is Here...

  • you're thinking of Desolate Earth::The End is Near, which is the last ttrack.

    Emergency Broadcast is number four

Desolate Earth is the last track

  • Desolate Earth :: The End Is Here.. not Desolate Earth :: The End Is Near.

  • oh, yeah i see that now...my bad lol

  • lol, i was just sayin' so you dont have the wrong names on iTunes. :P

    good review.

  • it sucks I rated your vid 5/5 stars yet the rating isnt showing and it wont let me rate it saying I already have but your review was awesome. The only thing I disagree with was you saying Spencers vocals are horrible when we screams Im The Desparate And Your The Saviour on Breathing In A New Mentality. I think he sounds awesome on the opening lines.

  • don't worry, it's showing the rating now lol

  • Spencer definately sings on Too Bright To See Too Loud Too Hear. The song I dont like on the cd is Desolate Earth::The End Is Here. It just doesnt come close to being as epic as their past last songs/closers on their cds. Its still an amazing unique before its time revolutionary cd. This is jsut the first cd they have made with Spencer where finally I dont love every song on the cd. Im still buying the cd Im jsut gonna wait til their cd release show in Toronto on Sept 3rd to get the cd/dvd vers

  • yea i was pretty sure it was Spencer, because it just didn't really sound like Aaron lol

  • yeah these lines are Spee singing

"They will stare and say how empty we are

How the freedom we had turned us up as dead man" and "How they knew that this would happen"

  • I agree about Spencer maturing as a vocalist.

His low notes are definitely more full. However I don't think this album makes him stand out as a leader more than any other album. I know the lyrics are mostly about Spencer's struggle with God, but I think more attention goes to Aaron. Yes, he doesn't randomly sing anymore, however he sings a lot more, and his voice his incredible, it's almost like you look forward to hearing him sing. & Drums sound amazing: they're so much more unpredictable.
