I started painting with acrylics today and needed some background information on how to start. Much better than all others! Thanks alot. Ill show my painting in one of my videos when im done with it and its dried!
So helpful! I needed to know the basics and that's what you covered. Perfect. And the tip about how to keep the paints from drying out in the homemade wet palette is great, I'm going to do that. Love your accent too.

very good video ^^, i use water colour but recentley iv been thinking of useing acrylic... i thougfh it was hard to do detail with it but i just figured out a few days ago that you can water it like water colout xD ...
Ahhh good stuff! I've always used watercolour as they are easy to mix, and if you make a mistake you can easily take it out with ur paintbrush, but when I tried acrylic I was terrible because it dried so quick in comparrison! Then I tried Oil, and not only was it a nightmare to paint with (tried thinning it down with white spirit/linseed oil), it took WEEKS to dry. I want to become better at painting tho. ta for posting this!
pues muy bien, pero yo sugiero que haya una traduccion simultanea al español por ejemplo, gracias anticipadas, muy buenos todos los videos aki publicados
It's called gesso (the "G" sounds like a "J"). It's a mixture of calcium carbonate, latex, and usually titanium oxide (to whiten). You can buy it pre-mixed at craft stores. I'd recommend using only one coat since it may crack if it's too thick.
ive been painting with oil for about 10 years now but im gradually switching over to acrylic ever since i experimented with it, its alot easier and better variety thanks for the tutorial
Yeah, you're right about the brown colour. I realised this myself after I'd posted the vid. Blue would have been better. However, if someone learns from my mistake, then the 'poo painting' has done its job in a way I didn't quite intend...!
Great tut!!

I had a snooty woman in an art store tell me acrylics were for amateurs and that i wasn't a true artist if i didn't ever paint using oils.

Question: when you make a wet paper towel/baking paper pallette, do you put the paints on the wet paper towel? Seems like one would.

what paint type should begginers use?
oil?
LMLNet 2 years ago

stacygulick 2 years ago
no. i was told that since oils take so long to dry, acrylics are best for begginers because they dry fast and you can layer with them. : )
