i feel like comparing this to hitman but there both completely different one's about stealing and the other is about assassination's and there both good in their own ways
I think it's awesome you haven't played the game for so long. I mean - it would be better for the 'let's play' if you knew exactly what you were doing. But your surprise and amazement at things is just so much better and hell of a lot more interesting - I don't really remember my first impression of the game and it's nice that these videos are kind of like your first impression that I can actually watch
I loved everything about Thief I and II except the level design. It makes me feel like a rat in a maze. Deadly Shadows is a easier to navigate because the layout is better.
@FrozenFoxy Me too. The AI wasn't nearly as sensitive, but it has never been very intelligent either. I hope Eidos Montreal develops a more sophisticated AI for Thief 4.
@VerumAdNauseam Whether the AI is sophisticated or not... it's better than most AI today and it was made 13 years ago. Kind of sad when you think about it.
@VerumAdNauseam Thief I and II had sprawling non-linear exploratory level designs. DS had mostly straightforward simplistic levels, often broken up into little chunks with loading screens. So yeah, of course it was easier to navigate, but it wasn't half as much fun.
@keshka4life No. This one isn't finished yet either. Metal Age will be done once this is finished, and that requires figuring out a way to get it working on another system first. I'll get to it eventually.
Those paintings you mentioned look like legit real life paintings. The one with the people atop the battlements looks like a close up of "The Siege of Jerusalem" I think
@sicknwrong Personally, I'd like to think so since they were made by the original Thief creators (Looking Glass Studios), but that's up to you to judge.
I like your narration. You have a slightly nasalish voice here (did you have cold at the time?) but you have a pleasant voice that's nice to listen to. Also, there's relatively little 'um' and 'err' when you narrate. Let's Plays are often riddled with annoying comments, but you're pretty entertaining. Nice job. ;)
lol, that gave me a little on the edge of my seat feeling when that guy came into the hallway at the end of the vid, he must had been daydreaming to not notice you X.x.
I see now what you were talking about before about fraps recording only the game pausing instead of the notes. If don't mind redoing the the videos, try setting the exe file to Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5) mode.
