Yes, he's just showing how to make holes ... There are a lot of other things to be kept in mind. You have to have the air stopper on one side, there has to be a proper distance between the holes, and moreover, even the hole from which you blow air has to be sharpened at the place where air strikes ... to make it flow smoothly (part of it outside the flute and part inside)
