So lemme get this straight... G-man works for the Combine, leads Gordan on through out the game from location to location, can see the future, teleport and freeze people in time. What I don't understand is why he is never brought up by the npc's. I mean, clearly he interacts with other characters but they never mention him. I mean how often during alien invasions do they see/speak to creepy white guys in a perfectly clean suite? Does he have the ability to brainwash people too?

@Natedawg422 It's not certain that he works for the Combine, and in fact the evidence so far mostly suggests that he's working against the Combine. The only non-generic NPCs confirmed to have met him (as far as I know) are Eli, Barney, and Adrian. I suspect Barney wouldn't mention him for the same reason that Gordon wouldn't mention him — people would think he was crazy, and what would be the point? And he IS mentioned by an NPC — Eli. And yes, he can brainwash people, he does it to Alyx.

There is a crack there through which you can see G-man. This sighting is taken from a higher view possibly using Noclip to get the viewers a better view.

Read the Mothman Prophecies, which is about the Men in Black. Theyre so similar in description to the Gman that i think he was based on their folklore. They were described as having bizarre speech patterns and gaunt features, sometimes with black widows-peaks, dressed in dark suits. they were seen to vanish in thin air and appear out of nowhere.
