@ccdg1066, I agree. Rather not amazing human being but superb soul. Essence of the best European's thoughts that makes no chance, by the way, to carry all of us on the neck.
Um mestre do órgão,Schweitzer, numa interpretação pura e cristalina. E numa tonalidade tocante e simples/majestosa, como convém a Bach. Ainda em tempo, parabéns Albert. Do Alex.
Is it really the BWV 564 ? Unrecognizable, really original, wonderfull. So, we feel the transition with the so famous following one, the BWV 565, as we imagine then interpreted on the mode adagio.
Very well played, this very nice piece of the great Bach. J. S. Bach was born21.3.1685 as described in the text. But he died 28.7.1750 and not 28/6. Thanks alot for the sharing!
Who's the one ignoramo who doesn't like Bach played by Schweitzer?

Maybe it's one of Silbermann organs as historical and beloved by Albert Schweitzer (Dresdener Hofkirche, Freiburg Cathedral, etc)?

Acaso una de las composiciones mas tiernas y conmovedoras de Bach.
Con este adagio se adelanta y abona el camino del Romanticismo.
La ecuacion en su perfeccion se transmuta en palabra y sentimiento.

Lovely, isn't it! Biggs, Murray, Richter. All very good. This is still the most lovely of them all.

This is BY FAR the best interpretation of this piece, thank you endlessly for this!
Bach is beyond words in beauty, perfectness, and compositional technique.

Dr. Scheitzer's intrepretation of Bach is absolutely amazing...
He conveys pure baroque Weltanschauung (or our idea of it), with no touch of *romanticism*.

Doctor Schweitzer is still now the greatest interpreter of Bach music.

I have a 2 set cd of what I think this is on. I also studied S's version of the Back Little Preludes and Fuges.

nobody can capture and create the tranquility and the mysterious atmosphere in Bach as same as Dr. Schweitzer.

I agree completely. You find the right words: mysterious atmosphere and tranquility

grazie per averci fatto riascoltare un organista purtroppo ormai dimenticato...non per caso.
