  • Is this rf2??? looks to me that latest mods for rf1 are way better than this shit.

    Look for endurance sp2 or historix......this should call Rfactor 1 v1.256

  • @hahahawoteverlol it feels better then rf1 already, the grafixs wont be much better indeed (same grafix engine) but they still have to add some grafixs. like hdr en tyre flex.

  • @SKeijmel I just hope that in the end you can set the game up to look about like rFactor 1 and run as good as it did. I don't need all the fancy HDR, motion blur sun occlusion, etc. Even with it off it runs 50% slower than rFactor 1 and looks worse. This shouldn't be. Hopefully once they optimize the client everything will look and feel a lot more fluid.

  • Is this view very zoomed out? Does not seem like a realistic perspective at all. And those arms absolutely suck.

  • i could easily mistaken that graphically for RF1. I'm sure the new physics are great, but dear lord, i expected a bit more from the graphics?

  • @JamesonAshbeck The reason is because settings have to be turned down as performance is v poor atm.

  • @JamesonAshbeck If you look at the cockpit and all the details, you can see alot of progress from rF1. Now it looks as good as NFS Shift but without this crapy and overdone motion blur and HDR. I think the animations of the arms look amazing - the arms were something I was missing in rF1 at all. And the ligthning looks much better now. Can't wait for the first mods and tracks.

  • @6665hitm4k3r what about the top mods plus VLM tracks? This just looks like a decent RF1 mod to me, i hope once i fire it up i am pleasantly surprised though :)

  • @JamesonAshbeck To be honest I didn't expect a firework of graphics. As you said, it looks like a DECENT mod. But I watched a lot of videos now, and have to say the lightning is much better now. Details on and beside the tracks are very nice. And a thing, I expereinced with any other game: a YT video can never transport the real immersion and feeling of a game.I for one will play the demo and see if I like the game. But the footage looks promising for me.

  • @6665hitm4k3r I've started to discover the same. The video here looks deceptively poor (like an rf1 mod), but I have posted a video on my channel with the start time later in the day to show off how good things look once the sun starts to come down a bit. Have a look for the one at Mills Metropark, I think this track at that time of day definitely goes well beyond any rf1 mod :)

  • @ollie7400 turn on 2x or 4x super-sampling aa in your control panel, if you can, it does look A LOT cleaner like this. It was the same with rf1 - no SSAA made the game super jaggy-edged. Without it I can't really bear to look at either, but in RF2 it's even more noticable...

    I've now tested the beta, and i must say, the handling and FFB is brilliant, though.

  • @JamesonAshbeck I am running with all settings maxed out mate, still very disapointed in the graphics, not to mention the netcode so far, though that could be changed...

    Also there seems to be no crossfire / sli support... a monumental fail to release a new game with no multi GPU support

  • @ollie7400 To be fair, it is a beta, and that means it's an early test build that's expected to have problems. Without doubt full Xfire/SLI support and frame rate optimisations will be with us in due course.

    I now feel the graphics can be nice in this game, but ISI have a lot of work to do with anti-aliasing not working for many people without super-sampling turned on. I will not rest until that and the texture shimmering are resolved, as these are in fact ancient RF1 problems!

  • @JamesonAshbeck Well, considering it's using the same engine as rF1, these optimization problems shouldn't exist. But yeah, it is beta. Hopefully ISI will get their shit together. If not, I can see a lot of pre-order cancels processing over the next couple months.

  • @JamesonAshbeck If you have the system to run it maxed out it does look impressive. Mainly HDR and shadows. But, you need about $1000 worth of hardware to run it like that smoothly right now.

    Graphically, I'm fine with it. Graphics don't make a racing game great. It's the physics. Now if only they can get it optimized to run properly.

    A lot of it is bugged beyond belief. Before I couldn't get HDR working, now I can't get shadows working. If it isn't one thing it's another with rF2.

  • @JamesonAshbeck I think the environment and skybox have had the largest improvements so far, and the final game will probably have nicer looking graphics :)

  • U are putting too much unnessersary steering lock, looks terrible. Drive it like its real, not like a game
