I had never been on this ride before 2008 and I was the most surprised at how fast it was. I'm lucky I didn't lose my glasses. It was fun though. One of the longest lines I waited in, too. Definitely a ride to do the Fast Pass with.

The space mountain at disney world was first and then they make a better one at disneyland and then the fist splash mountain was in disneyland and the better one is at disney world and if u see the best of that ride has 2 riders per seat while the first one has only one like splash mountain in disneyland and space mountain in disney world.

And since I have never been to Disneyland (I live in MD so Disneyworld is by far closer to me) so, I understand. Plus this one does look great from what I have seen. Disneyland's Space Mountain is so much more comfortable than Magic Kingdom's in Disney World. I far enjoyed it better. At the same time however, Splash Mountain is much more enjoyable to me in Disney World than Disneyland. I like the side by side seating better than being wedged behind people. xD;; It makes me just a bit claustrophobic.

Not what I remember as a kid back in the 80's when I rode it. I don't think they changed the ride itself (the decor, most definitely changed). It's a great ride but what I remember is that when you got off the ride, you had to go through this corridor that had big glass enclosures with life-like robots (families of robots AI) living in their homes walking around talking to each other. It was so real, it scared me. I thought they were real and my parents laughed. I stared for 30 min.

@Fearlessch1cken OH HELL YEs, there is a drop. Not a big drop, but the drop goes so god-speed fast that it seems just as bad.

And of course, it's not as bad as it seems. I went last month, thinking it would be awful (when I went as a child, it was scary), but it wasn't half as bad as I thought it was. Just don't lift your hands, there could be bars. And don't be scared, because the feeling of fear will overcome the actual fun in it :)
