  • i paid attention, since episode 1 it was insinuated that Richie was immortal. :)

  • Thank you.

  • I was 10 when I saw this the first time and bawled my eyes out when Tessa died!

  • This episode had the biggest impact on the entire series.

  • 3:46 E P I C

  • I will admit than even though I am a man I cried when Tessa was killed off because I thought they were going to build her character up like Heather was to Connor, but to make Ritchie immortal made somewhat sense on Duncan took him in and helped him change his ways...The song fits Duncans peril though Highlander did the song justice once again...

  • @unforgivenson I cried and still do, nothing lasts forever

  • @unforgivenson hey bro, i am a man who can claim the same reaction to her dying, no man points deducted, any true fan of the show would have done the same!

  • @philwitz1 I am glad to hear that I am not the only one who feels this way...

  • I cried so much here...

  • Nice montage and use of the song, but I have to admit... I was happy when she died. Episodes would drag by so painfully because of either her whining or Richie constantly complaining and doubting Mac. Methos and Amanda were much more interesting companions for Mac.

  • @DerekScottBland

Disagree I hated Methos, Amanda maybe.

But Methos focuesed episodes after Finale were among the worst.

  • the good thing is this was a real montage on tv, and not some cheesy video thrown together by youtube user

  • Blue my boy.

  • sexy ♥

  • OMG when i watched this in 1993 it stuck in my head too. i went out the next week and bought the kansas cassette tape of the song. i didn't know who the artist was and i had to sing the song at the store. lol

  • This breaks my heart as much now as it did then..

  • I so miss this show.....one not forgotten.....

  • Nearly 20 years on and it still doesn't fail to evoke emotion, especially now that a piece of my heart lies in Paris after a Highlander tour of the city last year. All we are is dust in the wind - truer words were never spoken. xxx

  • The only moment that is nearly as sad as this one is when Duncan kills Richie.

  • If you have cable TV, scifi channel has highlander but it comes on in the middle of the night, west coast time.

  • Netflix has Highlander on it.

  • Loved this show. Adrian Paul looked so much like my husband who died so soon after we wed. Wish I could see see all the episodes again.

  • @Strikesis If you go to NewVideoDigital's channel, you can. He/she uploaded almost all Highlander episodes. ;)

  • Powerful scene accompanied by a powerful song.

  • I've been watching this on hulu like crazy.

  • 5 people have no feelings

  • i cry so much at this its a shame she had to be killed damn the bastard that wrote that bit

  • @33kerryberry Yeah, I hate that Alexandra left the show. But it was what she wanted. She was tired of traveling back and forth every few months and want to do more work in France. So they had to write her out. Like when they had to write out Brother Darius. The actor died quickly of cancer, so that had to do a lot of changes in the planned storylines. Duncan + Tessa forever.

  • I also kept this moment forever in my memories since I saw it. it was a great and tragic moment in the show. Loved to watch it too. Wanna see it again on Tv. Hope they repeat this show again some day :) Love this song too.

  • k will admit that this episode mark me profondly i was a young teen when i first saw that

  • miss this show alot.

  • @TeikaChikata. Thank you for posting this. This is one of the most powerful and moving moments of the series. Destiny brought Duncan and Richie together. I had always heard Duncan sensed Richie would be an Immortal..but I don't know if that's just opinion or official canon. Do you know? Thanks. Jimm.

  • @thejimm2009

There are a couple of clues in the first season. Connor tells Duncan Ritchie will need someone to look after him and when the crooked dealer posed as Ritchie's father Duncan knew it was not true.

  • Ironic what Mac says to Richie....

  • Adrian Paul is the best ever...never this show will be the same without him.I do like C.Lambert but just doesn't fit 4me in it ..really not ,might be my good-oldhabit... which we well know g.o.h. dies hard ...if ever.So YES WE WANT THE SHOW BACK WITH ADRIAN...he's the BEST!!! Thank' 4 the wonderful experience shared.

  • Duncan lost one of the great loves of his life and Richie lost someone who was as close to him as family. That's the life of an immortal.

  • One of the saddest moments in the entire series. Thanks for posting it.

  • I wish that they had Duncan win the prize and that he was given the power to bring Tessa and Richie back to life , Would have been a great closure to this show

  • Best show ever!!!!! Needs to come back....but needs Adrian Paul in it to be GOOD!!!!

  • I remember watching this late at night on Channel 2 in Los Angeles when I was a little kid.

  • This episode just breaks my heart... thanks for posting

  • so sad, Tess didnt deserve that.

  • @stargater25 i agree,Tessa was my favourite mortal

  • highlander is probably the best tv show ever created

  • probably the best show on tv ever

  • @TeikaChikata....Thanks that was & still is a great show....Duncan could have used his powers for evil but he chose a better path...that's one of the things which makes the character so great...

  • When he tells Richie "Watch your Head" was one of the most poignant moments in that episode. The series was great, and Alexandra Van de.... was the best of the heroines and partners that he had. Will always consider this one of my top ten series.

  • I hated Tess but i loved this segment/montage.

  • its the greatest show ever made i wont to be in highlander except i wont to be the bad guy ----------its the story of the jounery of life -----

  • its the greatest show ever made i wont to be in highlander except i wont to be the bad guy

  • OGM That is one of my FAVORITE scenes of this series!!!! Thank You Thank You Thank you for posting it!

  • Noblescott

    I subconsciously smack you

  • I have need to cry for a long time. thank you

  • what if.... what if you could completly turn off someone's conscious mind and they would then act and behave like an "atomaton" or robot if you will. Maybe this individual would be somewhat less hindered on this earthly terrain because they would be responding to stimulus primarily (sort of like sleep-walking except less stupid) and actually more aware in thier subconcious so that if you talked to them they would be registering you with unknowable sensors and it would make you feel dumb if they

  • Movie is better

  • how does one become a highlander? In the movie they come from another planet and are sent here on punishment , but how did richie become one?

  • @j7x54 Forget everything u saw in Highlander 2. It was a terrible sequel. there was no mention of them being aliens inthe first movie. it was just a terrible mistakeby the producerso fthe franchise.

  • @j7x54

You are just born one. Whatever age you die at is the age you stay forever. Immortals can sense you're immortal even before your first death.

  • @SundiMundi so how about richie did duncan ever say that he was a highlander before he died?

  • @j7x54

Not in the earlier episodes, but after Ritchie becomes one they retcon it and Duncan says he knew all along. There is an episode where an immortal pretends to be Jesus resurrected and goes around killing people who he knows are immortal, but who haven't died yet so when they resurrect he tells them he resurrected them so they would serve him.

  • I thought I was the only one who felt this way about a tv show...miss it.

  • I miss this show so much. I had the complete set of DVDs and they were lost when I moved. ;( Adrian Paul was just unbelievably awesome in this role. The music you put to this montage was very appropriate and wonderful. For some reason it brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for posting this stunner.

  • @javajunkie101

I wish I could take credit for the montage but I only copied it from the episode where Tessa was killed. The segment had haunted me for all these years and had to post it and share.

    I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • @TeikaChikata The part when Richie opens his eyes...was that taken from a different episode?

  • @TeikaChikata it has haunted me I love the song but the moment when he has lost the woman he loves, brings it home to me, it touches my heart and always will, xxxx

  • @javajunkie101 one of my favorite shows Adrian paul is awesome but my heart belongs to Methos

  • @javajunkie101 They are on Netflix here in Canada now :)

  • @javajunkie101 the complete show is online here on Youtube!

  • In reflection of my life it is amazing how this show has play a part of my growth as a person. Not many moments in TV land has touch me as much as this episode and has thought me the value of life itself. It all came together with the song also. Wow, 17 years, still hits me in the gut every time hear it playing somewhere I go back to that place, a sad but learning moment I will never forget. Thank you to the user that put this on. All the Best an Live Forever!

  • тессу жалко =(.

  • Anyone notice that this is the only time that the "The Gathering" is mentioned after season1 in the flashback to the pilot episode when Tessa's chewing out Duncen? That includes all 5 other seasons, the Animated Series, The Raven, the Reunioun special, and all the movies minus the origenal. they never EVER mention "The Gathering" in anything but the origenal movie, the first season and this flash back.

  • Only a dream! Tho they have much in common,on earth and in the stars, I think Adrian is more into film production. And I guess the stars aren't always right, because they said my ex. and I were compatable. That should have turned me off Astrology right there. Still the two most handsome men on film, in my opinion!

  • it is the best...we are losers...word

  • Oooooh, thanks for posting this ending. I remember it with great clarity from the original screening so I'm thrilled you've posted it. Bravo!!

  • Man u r right! I could never forget this ending (either). It is so moving!! Thx!!!!

  • Just a thought, at the end of the Source, Duncan wins mortality and the last line and is the first to have a child. How about a follow-up with Duncan and son? Im thinking of a fellow Gemini who also played soccor. Adrian Paul, born may 28 1959 and Colin Farrell born May 31 1976. Only a dream, but these actors have many similarities off screen.

  • @colinchick69 it's never explicetly stated that Duncen was turned mortal, only that he was given the right the sire a child and personaly I did'nt like the way they handled the story in The Source so I'm glad they won't be continuing it, and I doubt that Adrian will be active in the Highlander mythos anymore, witch is a mixed blessing. Anyways hope you get your dream and see Colin and Adrian in a movie together sometime

  • @DoctorWhoisit All of the Immortals near the source turned mortal. Probably stayed that way, but Duncan won...or whatever, the movie thankfully ended.

  • @jumpinjax2 I got the impression that there mortality was only temperary, both of the immortals that failed the last quest for the sorce were turned immortal again upon failing it. but its just a you say I say argument in the end.

  • This is depressing

  • ...best scene from one of the best shows in syndication...the dynamic had to be changed and, boy they threw a zinger...they don't make them like that anymore...so much going on Tessa's death, Richies' immortality, a the police coming' where to bury Tessa, her belongings, how to explain her disappearance, Ritchies training....so much to do....best.show.ever. time for a new version.....

  • Anyone know if this rendition of the song is available anywhere? I like the original, but I really like this version.

  • @scannerwa as far as I know this is the original the group is called Kansas and the songs Dust in the Wind

  • Looking back at the series in this moment, takes my breath away. I miss Duncan and Tessa together and they had great chemistry. Its too bad that fate didn't kept them together in the end.

  • For me, this was when the series went from a second rate adaption of a great movie to a first rate series all on its own. Also, I remember watching this scene all those years ago. I was certain that when he walks across the street, it would be Connor waiting for him. The whole Richie was an immortal all along really was not a turn I was expecting. Great job.

  • watch your head ............;;;;

  • Soy de Epanha vio este vídeo como Kansas, pero no les gusta esto mejor video visto en su vida

  • Also not found much grace, but it is kinda cool ...

  • people fail to realize that at the end of "The Source" Duncan recieved the "Prize"

    - mortality

  • @HardyXtreme555 Other people fail to realize that the Source was an hallucination caused by the chemicals he was recieving during his time in Sanctuary.

  • richie was a punk im glad duncan killed him

  • very well done

  • One of my favorite all time shows and one of my favorite songs by Kansas. Thank you.

  • @Girlwithacoin What is so funny?

  • Comment removed

  • @Girlwithacoin Cocaine is a hell of a drug

  • Growing old is over-rated. I wanna be immortal :)

  • This show was great! And I loved Tessa and Duncan together. It still makes me tear up!!

  • Dust in the Wind always reminded me of this scene more than it does Old School.

  • i feel the same too

  • I just accidentally come accross this video and i remember vividly how i felt during the first time i watch this series i cired so hard when Tessa die was just in H.S. then but i watched every episode that shown on tv during that time as I watching after how many years it made me cry all over again harder than the first time matured as I am Im extremely moved the song is very appropriate ..but i didnt get to watch the ending good thing i found it here THANK YOU for sharing...

  • tessa had to die, is the quintesential highlander, just like heather die leaving connor with a hole in his heart, same for duncan.

  • @bookslay while it would appear like that, originally the writers didn't have Tessa die her death came about because the actress Alexandra Vandernoot wanted to live the show to do other things. So it could have been very different had she not

  • I remember so well this episode. I loved the music. It was really a great and emotional episode and this song was perfect for this scene. Still love to watch it. 5* this tv show. For me was even better than the movie (in my opinion). Thanks a lot for sharing it.

  • this is one of my favorite Tv moments. it was sad as hell and then you got to see Richie agin as an immortal . Sad and cool at the same time

I see this in 1995 , I remenber for ever.....

    sin duda una escena eterna...

  • Of all the women Duncan was involved with during the series, Amanda, Anne, even Kate and Anna from the movies, none had the chemistry of him and Tessa.

  • I hope sky shows it again soon, like too many good shows they only show them once and never show them again, I watched every episode and still come back to this moment, as it hits the soul.

  • whoever put this song and scene together is a genius and did a wonderful job.

  • This is definately a very powerful scene for any show I have ever watched

  • A classic moment...

  • he looks like shawn michaels

  • this is one of the sad parts in this serie. and the son is memorable.

  • That was so sad.

  • @dougaddams that concept is thoroughly covered throughout the seasons and very well addressed by Queen in the sing writing, e.g "Who wants to live Forever", which was originally about Connor and heather. The worst of the battles Duncan faced were exact causes stemming from immortality in a mortal world. I always feel a bittersweet type of emotion when watching these episodes as I place myself in the characters shoes, some immortals even had themselves killed.

  • Ladies.... See ROMAMTIC movie clip A knight and his lady

  • perfect song for this scene, touching

  • I wish they would repeat all these....

  • I remember seeing this episode and how sad I got and cried. I really liked them together. It was hard for me to watch the show after this. Thanks for posting. I still get sad watching this but it's worth it to remember the ones that you have loved that have passed on with good memories. :)

  • 17 years passed, and i still crying.... :(

  • @Alukret2 Has it really been that long?

  • perfect montage , thats all i have to say

  • me too bro

  • I disliked this episode because after Duncan saved her and went through all that, Richie and Tessa get shot by a mugger! The only cool thing is that richie is imortal now!

  • richie should've just died then and there. killed by duncan was one of most stupidest things ever producers/writers came up with.

  • So sad... I remember watching when this was on originally. This episode made me cry. Poor Tessa. Poor Duncan.

  • Bellissimo!

  • I'm watching Highlander for the first time now & am almost through season 1. Not looking forward to this episode.

  • Yea, it's sort of a curse and blessing for the show... on the one hand things get alot more intreasting with Duncan free to come and go as he pleases but... Damn it's TESSA!!!

  • Damn. Sucks to be Duncan. To lose so his true love, and yet to live forever without her. Damn that sucks. I would hate immortality.

  • Tell me about it....what if Tessa winded up being an immortal and they were the only two left?

  • there can be only one! winks

  • Still 1 if the best tv shows ever made.

  • i think what annoys me the most is that their "SEASON ENDING EPISODES" weren't at the end of the season

  • I'm not sure what you mean by that.

  • @DoctorWhoisit the death of tessa and the reveal that richie was an immortal was not a season finally like it should have been, it was the third episode into the second season, and the season finally immortal of the first season was nothing special. all the seasons were like this.

  • @BouncingFerretFilms I have to disagree that this should have been the conclusion of the season, as this episode sets the over all arc for the rest of the season, the rest of the season Richie settles into becoming immortal, and is flight of indpendance, and Duncan deals with the loss of Tess firmly bidding her farewell in the conterfit finale we would have missed all this if it had been the finale.

  • @BouncingFerretFilms and on further note not all the seasons ended open endedly, 3 ends in the final duel with Kalas that most of the season had been building up too, and 4 ends with Joe finally having to answer for friendship with Duncan, and 5 ends with a cliffhanger in Archangel, 6 wraps things up, maybe not the climatic style of the orignal movie but wraps everything up none the less.

  • this pissed me off SO much, tess was my fav woman

  • omg i cried for like 20 minutes during/after i saw this!

  • Coolest ending of any highlander episode.

  • It made me soo sad. I love this show anyway--and I am glad richie became immortal--it is so much cooler.

  • Well, we knew from the beginning that he was gonna be one

  • Comment removed

  • @TriaMaxwell took me awhile realize that he was one. Until they were on the beach talking.

  • It's why Duncan was so confused and almost killed Ritchie in the first episode.

  • @TriaMaxwell that and the fact that Conner and that dude game throught his house while ritchie was breaking in.

  • Yeah, all Richie wanted was a quick buck. If he hadn;t died, he may have lived a long time

  • @TriaMaxwell if Conner had to train him he would have lived a very long time. Remember Juan Sanchez-Valobos Riamez taught Conner. Just think what if he taught Richie.

  • true, and connor also trained duncan.

  • they should have made the spin off with Mythos and Dawson. Instead of Amanda.

  • @2199 Most fans really wanted that to happen, especially after all the female lead one off epsiodes sucked much like the most of season six. Fans actually thought they would get the Methos spin-off after Indiscretions epsiode which was the best epsiode of the season along with the finale. However several of the writers had been toying with the idea of a Highlander meets a cop show since the fourth season, and felt highlander needed a female lead and then we got the Raven. Enough said really

  • @robccld

I always thought Ritchie would've been the one to carry the Highlander franchise forward with a series spin-off, after all he was Duncan's protege, then they killed him off and the franchise went with it. The Raven and the Source were terrible.

  • Damn it I knew it would end like this blast it

  • would have been cool if Tessa was immortal???

  • Ah, but if she was, it would have changed everything....

  • @TriaMaxwell yeah but he would have been happy. then again he did kill Ritchie by accident.

  • Dark Quickenings are a bitch.

  • @TriaMaxwell Look at what happened to Darius...once bad then good. Different kinds of quickings

  • And this is why my Immortal RP character avoids the Game.

  • No shit sherlock!.

  • THE SONG IS DONE BY KANAS

  • This was tragic fir Duncan, he really loved Tessa. I cried the first time I saw this one.

  • This song is very good...sadly you dont hear it soo often:(

  • this is the first time i heard the song..great..

  • Thanks for uploading this! Such a momentous sequence in the whole series.

  • Don
