If I'm not mistaking that's not a Pentium 4. Look at the CPU socket locking mechanism. I believe Intel started using that kind from the beginning of the Core 2 cpu's.
@kenmha The only point I am trying to make with this video is a large portion of the time if you have a hardware eschew and not a virus, you should simply look over the board of whatever electronic it may be for popped capacitors before you decide to throw it in the trash.
Thats A Basic Fix..... the Dell GX 260 has these problems there was A recall because of this .... Easy way to make money .... Buy those , and upgrade them they have Hyper threading Pentium 4 which can be overclocked .. very nice basic computer
@WhoKnowsBestAboutTec If you watched my videos close paid attention to what I was telling you in them you would already know the answer to that question go watch the last update video for mega giveaway. And if after watching it? if you cannot figure out when I will release my repair videos perhaps you should look at a different line of work?
How hot does a soldering iron get? I'm a little clumsy when it comes to things like that! Thanks for the video. I had no clue as to how to replace a capacitor. If all things goes according to plan, I'll be making a donation!
@kenmha For a beginner that has never used a soldering iron I would suggest using one with adjustable temp then get a old electronic to play around with removing components by slowly turning up the heat this will give you a good fill for it and help prevent you from getting it to hot and damaging the trace on the board you can burn them right off and then it is all over. Adjustable temp soldering irons are more expensive but well worth the money.
if your also going to use this method for your xbox repair videos too which are coming soon than please take note that the visibility is not very good :)
@rustyragster When it comes time for me to start making the videos for upload, I plan on using a HD camera I will show all details, for now I am only showing simple tasks that anyone can do even if the video quality is not perfect. I do understand your concern but rest assured video quality and details will be top priority in making my repair videos when it comes time.
@gjl07 I do not know the exact symptom displayed for the blown cap? The motherboard was brought in dissembled, but if your computer is not working it is a safe bet that all it is, is a blown capacitor it will not be a capacitor every time. But this is a easy one to spot just by looking you do not even need to remove the board to find a bad cap.
where did you get your capacitor??

@boomy818 You can get them on eBay or buy at your local Radio Shack it depends on how many you need if you do this a lot I would suggest eBay

@kenmha If your Capacitor gets hot enough to burn your fingers when removing or installing you are doing it wrong!
