Les recomiendo el vinilo solista de Chepito de 1974, se puede descargar libremente de algún blog. Pete Escovedo y Sheila E. son tecnicamente apabullantes, pero Chepito es un clásico por derecho propio. Comparto el cariño y la admiración que trasuntan los otros comentarios. Alfredo

Excelente interpretacion, siempre lo he considerado un Maestro , regularmente entro a youtube buscando el video del concierto de la vieja banda de Santana cuando tocó en Mexico comenzando los70 claro, donde este señor percusionista se lució enormemente y donde nació mi admiración por él, si alguien lo tiene sería bueno subirlo para que las nuevas generaciones aprecien el enorme talento que tenian los integrantes originales de santana, Si lees esto Chepito, mis respetos desde Venezuela

@ERNESTORIVADENEYRA estas muy equivocado. No creo que haya cajon en los discos de santana (en los que estaba chepito al menos). Lo que si es cierto es que en 1972 Paco de Lucia de gira por Peru decidio incorporar el cajon en su banda y eso lo abrio al mundo. Despues modificaron el tamaño y la voz del mismo para adaptarlo al flamenco (igual que con la guitarra que es mas viva y aguda que la clasica).

I saw Chepito play timbales at the Armando Peraza tribute in SF earlier this month.

While this video is clearly not his best work, I can assure you that he is now back in nearly top form, one of the greatest ever, clearly!

Yeah,I met Cheppie after a Santana concert in Ahoy, Rotterdam (Netherlands) in their Santana bus which took us to Amsterdam.

Cheppie and me were having a conversation and while we arrived at their hotel in Amsterdam, he and Armando Peraza (congarillo) invited me and some girlfriends for a drink and some more conversations :)

Then all of a sudden I couldn't hear the music anymore and while dancing and getting off my head I had a telepathic conversation with Armando.
