  • Yep I only prefer real light black girls, mixed or non-black girls. Better attitudes, more self-secured to top it off with beauty and I just get along with them better. And they're only stuck-up at first, but no more after I smash so the power is shift back to me! =)

  • Great video

  • Good video baby.

  • I sleep with more white women because there are more of them and they tend to be easier to get into bed if im being brutally honest. in regards to black women, I prefer darker skinned women to light skinned women. as for your original question, well its probs the same reason black women like yourself wear european wigs/relax hair/ lightedn skin etc.....its rooted in internalised racism, basically black self-hatred. so if you dont want to feel oppressed, start by wearing your hair natural

  • Its just light black girls an mixed girls are sexy as hell.. An normally dont have a nasty attuide

  • I agree some blk woman r too picky. He has to hve this or tht to please them. I date who makes me happy :)

  • You're so right! I'm done feeling gross and unwanted for no good reason!!-3

  • It's good to see that there still some good black women left out here!!!

  • ur right but black women get on black mans nervves n u know why its hard finding that girl especially if like blak girls i like them of all colors but i have mostly dated lighter skin black girls mixed you kno but its all the same really they act a little more stuk up then normal black girls so unless i find a black girl that has what im looking for intellectually and physically meaning im very much attracted too but thats really the problem its trusting these hoes these days yes i said hoes sad

  • this is the type of black women i like.beautiful with good common sense.common sense aint so common.

  • U right <3

  • You're reasonable, desirable, and you ought to be heard.

  • Girl I agree with you totally!

  • I got mad respect for youu!

  • That's not the Problem of beeing a woman ore a man, it's a nigger thig, Ofc you dont like yourself, what there to be proud if you are actually just some decendants of living with th decendance of your former slave holders...

  • Well. I liked light skinned women more at one point. But thru life I learned how arrogant, stucked up,cocky they most are! Soo I prefer a white woman more because their the opposite

  • Finally the voice of fairness on this aggravating matter …I have not heard any other women speak from such a reasonable point of view on this issue it’s what we need to hear from our beautiful and smart black women who really want to bring us together and not keep us apart … Bravo to you and I thank you!

  • I agree 1000% wish more woman had the mindset to not compare against each other, your beautiful if treat yourself as such

  • In general, darker brothers have an easier time finding love. If you are a dark skinned and natural black woman, unless you are dating Malcolm X's afrocentric clone, WHITE men will appreciate your beauty more. I' m not God, but that's what I've lived through.

  • I just agreed with the fizzleFlopper's comment about internal rejection. Howevver, I disagree on who's to fully blame. It' s a two way color-struck street, but brothers are more aggressive on it. I find that a sister is more willing to give a darker man a chance than a brother is to give a darker woman an chance. I'm telling you, it's been my life story.

  • That's how you gotta be with black women. If you're soft you'll get your head handed to you. Tough but fair is the only thing that works with a Sista (the key word being TOUGH).

  • Sorry but The Kid ain't going out like that, and if I have to be a little "dirty" to make sure I don't suffer the same fate so be it. I will NOT have some Eva (from the movie Deliver Us From Eva) come into my life and turn my very existence upside down & leave me stuck with 1 or 2 child support payments that wittle away any wealth I've been able to create. I'll do WHATEVER is necessary (outside of commiting murder) to make sure that some bullshit like that NEVER happens to me.

  • settling-down, having a child or 2 and having the life of stability that she so deeply desires & craves. Sad but true.............and I hate to have to "somewhat" use that to my advantage, but hey, a black man's gotta do what a black man's gotta do. These professional black women suffer from a terrible case of "Divaism" in 2011 and their heads are COMPLETELY fucked up. Too many of my fellas have married those younger Sistas & I can count on 4 hands the number of them that are now DIVORCED.

  • her desperation and use it "against" her. What I'm saying is that a lot of these professional Sistas out here have UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS............unrealistic expectations that sometimes require me to tell her "Goddammit I said NO, we're not going to do it that way. I said no, I meant no and no is NO", and when I said that to women younger than her in the past??? They would LEAVE me. She never has. Know why? Because she knows that I'm her 1 & only shot at getting a husband............

  • while she's made the "threat" many times that she's going to leave me, she never does. Why? Because she's at that age of that biological clock ticking and she's DESPERATE. Now let's understand, I don't cheat on this woman, I don't beat her (I've never hit a woman before in my life), I don't chip away at her self-esteem by talking to her in a mean fashion, I don't berate or belittle her, I get up and go to church with her, I try to be as sweet to her as I can. So I'm not saying that I take..

  • and all other kinds of bullshit. THIS is what drove many-a-brother like me to date white women. If a white woman is interested? She steps forward and makes it KNOWN, ain't no beating around the bush with them. But it's just unfortunate, and a lot of professional brothers know that you're going to have a tough time finding a Sista under the age of 34 that will cooperate and come with "the program". I see it all the time with the Sista that I'm engaged to right now. She's 36 & I'm 42 and....

  • threshhold. Then all of a sudden they're willing to be more approachable, friendly, talkative, willing to return phone calls & willing to reply to e-mails. If she's age 33 or younger she's got a fucked up attitude, she wants you to call her 17 times before returning your calls, she wants you to e-mail her 29 times before returning your e-mails, she wants you to wait on the 2nd coming of The Messiah before dropping the panties while claiming that she's "saving herself for the man she marries"..

  • a lot of college-degreed, professional black men & even white guys who date black women know EXACTLY where I'm coming from. Most educated black women have a nasty attitude until they turn 34. There's something magical about a Sista turning age 34 that makes her "desperate" and more willing to stop being mean to men. I think it has everything to do with that biological clock ticking, but whatever the case, most educated black women have real stank attitudes until they hit that 34 year old....

  • like the one you have you are in the minority, not the majority among black women. I'm a brother who is a college-degreed professional, I graduated from an HBCU, I'm pulling down a 6-figure income, I'm 10,000% heterosexual & strictly into women, I'm a pretty good-looking guy if I don't mind saying so myself and I can tell you that my experience out there when I was dating is that dating Sistas can be its own form of HELL. I did most of my dating online and here's the story that's out here...

  • Shesweetlysings09, as a 42 year old black man I think you're a beautiful black woman with beautiful, thick, SEXY lips on you and with lips like those you're going to make your future husband very happy REGARDLESS of what color he is. I'm in a permanent relationship now with a black woman but before I met her I dated many a black woman & many a white woman. I can tell from your comments in this video that you have a very good & positive attitude.........unfortunately with a positive attitude...

  • There's Way more Attractive, decent Black Men out there who love black women of All shades and hues than those who have complexion/self-hate issues...

It's largely single mothers w/ slave mentality who breeds colorism into their daughters...Most times, brothers are bewildered by dark skinned beautiful sisters with so many color and self-esteem complexes....but they still adore and worship you.

  • Those are people who are very concerned with assimilating to White culture and trying not to offend white people by dating women with African features.

yet white people spend a sht load of money to look like us.

check out DanFreeman717 "White Boys Best Kept Secret" video series, thought provoking and enlightening.

  • Damn Right!! and you look good

  • Again I prefer a GOOD MAN!! as opposed to ethnicities. If he's got means and loves me who cares what his race is. Angie Stone said it best "Black Brother, Strong Brother" This young lady makes a valid point Change it if you don't like it. God made all people. Its sad if we can't love what he has created.

  • Again I prefer a GOOD MAN!! as opposed to ethnicities. If he's got means and loves me who cares what his race is. I just happen to be into my race. Angie Stone said it best "Black Brother, Strong Brother" This young lady makes a valid point Change it if you don't like it. We are still hurt from what happened in the past to our forefathers and continue. God made all people. If we can't love God's creation of people all nationalities Oh 'Well...

  • My thoughts on the topic is that the heart nos no color. I prefer a good man We are the only race of people that do not know who we are. We are called, black, negro, colored people, afro american, african american; we dont know who we are sometimes. People have bleed and died for our right to be who we can be and be with. As for celebs that's who they hang out with. They are the ones paying hundreds to attend sport events and award shows etc.

  • This beautiful lady speaks alot of sense and truth well done for a very intelligent informative video...

  • i love how much u guys hate each other. lol funny stuff

  • public*

  • @distortedV12 I thought this was a punlic commenting website? if she didn't want my opinion she wouldn't let everyone comment, now would she? identical hues? why don't you just let people date who they want to?

  • Enough with this "colorism" nonsense. IT'S EVERYWHERE! Why can't we all just date women/men of identical hues? Eh, that could very well solve everything!

  • @DistortedV12 because opposites attract,....most black dudes like light skinned..just because......

  • darker the fruit sweeter the juice. I'm white (sexy honkey here) and I don't see that many black women dating white men. I'm from Kansas, and black women don't [normally] like the white meat around here. there are plenty of black guys with white women, but not the same going the other way. I think you should be with who you are attracted to, and I think color has too much to do with it. I've had a lot of black older brothers want to beat my ass cause I was with their sisters, but they date white

  • @joker66002 This is not about you...sorry.

  • because dark ones look like you

  • Black men pursue White/light-skinned women for 2 reasons - firstly, it gives them better social status, possibly a sign of being successful, secondly, the black race has the highest level of testosterone, so the level in black women is higher too, hence more masculine physical appearance and personality, and I guess given the choice, a softer and more feminine woman has greater appeal.

  • @14LondonLucy Can you reference a source to what you are saying (that Black women have higher levels of testosterone than other women)? I'm a Black man, and I happen to find Black women to be, generally, more feminine than other women, so I find that hard to believe.

  • @MrCrustyelbows YouTube won't let me publish the link here, so Google search 'Robert Lindsay Wordpress Testosterone' and there should be a link to an article entitled "Black Males and Testosterone: Evolution and Perspectives" - the reference to black females is near the bottom of the article.

  • @14LondonLucy The article you mentioned is not credible as it lacks any academic reference to specific studies and researches (as well as dates) that would support what he is saying. Its easy to measure testosterone levels in people. Who has done it, and when? The guy makes assertions and doesn't back them up, and judging from other articles and comments on the site, writes to please a bigoted audience. A BA in journalism and MA in linguistics?? Can you provide a better source?

  • @MrCrustyelbows OK...so you're not a troll as you obviously followed the link, most of the time I don't even bother getting into this kind of debate because as soon as anyone mentions testosterone/IQs/brain size difference between the races, anything that is unflattering is dismissed as racist.....if you're interested here's a longer and reliable source, you heard of J. Philippe Rushton?..Google search Rushton Race,Genetics and Human Reproductive Strategies, it's in there, and there's more too...

  • @14LondonLucy Read the article on J. Philippe Rushton on Wikipedia and you will find references to studies done by other scientists that disprove almost every assertion he's ever made on racial group differences. When your work is heavily criticized by other scientists, that is saying something. The article you mentioned deals with Black male testosterone levels and doesn't support your claim that Black women have higher testosterone and are therefore less feminine than other women.

  • @MrCrustyelbows As I said, racial group differences are such a sensitive subject that often the findings are scrutinised and quickly dismissed, there are two other tests mentioned which say that "blacks" have between 10 & 19% higher levels of testosterone than "Whites" not referring to male or female but instead the race and we know that women have testosterone, albeit a lower amount than men, so black women will have a higher count than White women...or have you got evidence showing otherwise?

  • @14LondonLucy I don't think you should assume that because the men have higher testosterone levels, the women will as well. I'm not a scientist and I've never tested anyone's testosterone levels, but from an intuitive perspective, it just doesn't make sense. I am however open to accepting if you can provide concrete evidence. You said yourself "given the choice, a softer and more feminine woman has greater appeal", but I don't know why you would think the Black woman wouldn't have....

  • @MrCrustyelbows ...evolved to meet the Black man's evolutionary demands (i.e. 'become more feminine as a result of the male's increased testosterone levels).

  • @MrCrustyelbows I'm working off the tests describing a race rather than being gender specific...likewise, if you have concrete evidence to say black and White women have the same testosterone levels I would withdraw my comment, I'm simply looking for an answer to the question...nearly 50% of British Caribbean men apparently date out of their race and could be the first race in the UK to 'disappear'...so why are black men not pursuing black women? They must be less appealing for some reason.

  • @14LondonLucy I researched that Rushton article, and even though he mentioned "Blacks" his sources dealt specifically with Black males. It's not up to me to conjure evidence saying Black and White women have the same testosterone levels because I'm not making that statement. Do you have statistical evidence that shows 50% of British Caribbean men date outside of their race? You are speaking from a subjective viewpoint. From my subjective viewpoint, I disagree with everything you're saying.

  • @MrCrustyelbows OK, here's the source, Google "Ethnicity and Family: Relationships Within and Between Ethnic Groups", there's a few links to the report, either that or one of the newspapers like the Telegraph breaks it down concisely.....my video says that race-mixing is genocide and it looks like British Caribbeans will be the first casualty...and do all 3 sources say specifically male? I'll look into that...my point is that you may disagree but if I'm so wrong then why can nobody prove it?

  • @14LondonLucy I'll accept the information in that study (they sampled 60,000 households), it seems believable. However, I'm not sure that it necessarily implies racial preference because there are many different reasons why any relationship (homogeneous or interracial) takes place. One could just as easily interpret it as being more about the fact that the other races of women seem to "prefer" Afro-Caribbean men than Afro-Caribbean "preferring" other races of women. At the same time....

  • @MrCrustyelbows .....Afro-Caribbean men in Britain, less than 1% of the total population according to the study, cannot represent the total population of "Black" men worldwide. I live in the U.S. where a larger percentage of the population is Black, and from my personal experience, the vast majority of Black men (including myself) that I've came across actually prefer Black women. I think the whole "Black men prefer White women" is a myth.

  • @MrCrustyelbows I actually think the whole "White women prefer black men" is a myth too, you see it a lot more on the TV than you do in real life, the report says that just 4% of White women in the UK are in a mixed relationship, so maybe the reason the stats for British Caribbeans mixing is so high(34% of British Caribbean women date White men)is because they are more likely to encounter White people than black in areas which are more multicultural and this type of relationship is more common.

  • @14LondonLucy The report wasn't dealing with specific interracial couplings. It didn't say 48% of Caribbean men are dating particularly White women, it said 48% of Caribbean men were in interracial relationships. I think if you see interracial couplings, its erroneous to assume that its due to some racial preference. In some cases, it probably is, but in others, its not about race. There are several reasons why people choose their partners.

  • @14LondonLucy At the same time, 4% of White women in Britain represents a larger population than 48% of Caribbean men in Britain. According to that report, Whites in general represent 85% of the total population in Britain whereas Caribbeans represent 1%.

  • @MrCrustyelbows Well obviously, the report says "because White British are the overwhelming majority, more White British people were in an inter-ethnic partnership than those from other groups", that's why percentages are important, demographics are also important - Britain is 85% White but just 60% of London is White, in a poor part of London you'll see blacks, Whites, asians, many interracial relationships but trust me, the couples don't look like they do on the TV, especially the White girls.

  • @14LondonLucy Google "ethnic gaps in breast cancer linked to hormones" and click the second link. It's an article based on research done on a sample of 700 women whose conclusions contradict what you were suggesting earlier about the comparative testosterone levels in Black women.

  • @MrCrustyelbows I read the article and it does say that black women have higher levels of estrogen but the ovaries produce both testosterone and estrogen and it doesn't compare testosterone levels.

  • @14LondonLucy The article also says "Native Hawaiians, for example, had the highest levels of estrogen and androgen"....androgen is a term for "male hormones" that includes testosterone. When it said Black women had higher estrogen levels, it was comparing them to White women specifically and not all other women. It also explains that there are other factors including diet and lifestyle changes that can affect estrogen levels other than race.

  • @toyu17 Actually, I am an archaeologist NOT a racist. I am a good actor when encouraged. To be honest my housekeeper is actually Polish. See, I can be pleasant!

  • @toyu17 Or perhaps White men just are not attracted to you? I don't date black women. I use them as housekeepers. I was held up at a Citibank at 7:00AM in NYC. A gun suddenly touching each temple. Calm, I took out the money. I knew Citibank would return it. The dumb assholes were facing a surveillance tape machine and arrested in a day. I mentioned to the cops that my credit cards had a limit of over $50,000 so they got the maximum sentence. I now carry a handgun 24/7. I never need a fake smile

  • @HandsomeChristopher sweetie, u couldnt date a blk woman if u tried, ur penis is far too small.

    Truth Hurts

  • @bkempress718 If you call 9" too small, why honey your pussy must be as big as a Kentucky Fried Chicken Bucket. And as greasy too sistah. I love when a Nigger, trying to impress people with her White Education, finally admits that whats really on her mind is a big black penis attached to a big black Nigger with teeny ears and amazingly wide gorilla nostrils that flap in the wind like your pussy lips. This is why Niggers rape so many White women, Niggers don't make love - they just fuck.

  • @toyu17 I am 9" cut and thick - I know many White men large like me. However the women with whom I associate are interested in qualities more important than cock size. They like making love not beinf fucked by an animal. Yes, there ARE White Women who choose to sleep with black men -two types: Trailer Park White Trash and Los Angeles whores with fake tits who want to marry Black Sports Stars. You can called me a LOSER but my woman and I have MORE than you will EVER have. Plus we have White Pride

  • @toyu17 I fear you hair relaxing chemicals and glued on hair extensions and the large amount of lipstick to coat those HUGE lips have all transferred chemical damage to your small brain. I assume you have one of those typical black butts that would be an asset if you were a flight attendant - you could carry 5 or 6 serving trays at once on your ass and hips and serve the First Class Passengers quickly. Actually I don't know if Airlines allow black flight attendants to work in First Class!

  • @toyu17 .......white IS special honey

  • @ari66889922 generally you should say

  • I agree with you more then 100%

  • I agree 100 % even though I am a white girl. To make a change you have to forget the past and start a new future to live in. I have a lot of friends that are dark colored or black or whatever. I don't like comparing people by their color that's just really stupid. I mean all people are different. But different doesnt have to be races fought against one another. To make a change, is to forget the past and make your future brighter and happier.

  • black women are fucking hot, my current and last girl are black and they are the best, I am a white man

  • @girraboyzz Are you kidding i'm black and everyone knows white women are the best kind of women to get..

Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Jessica Simpson, Carrie Underwood, even Britany Spears ALL GODDESSES black women couldn't possibly measure up to those beauties!!

  • You're exactly right...as a black man I can honestly say that black women really never liked me for the most part UNTIL I married a white woman....then all of a sudden I became a "good black man."

Many black women want thugs, but then when they get what they want, they seem to hate the consequences...and rather than looking at who's REALLY to blame (themselves), they point the finger at the men who are now happily married and act as if it's our fault they're in the situation they're in.

  • @flizzleFlopper Well, dude I can kinda relate to what you said. But, not all Black Women are like that. It's funny, but the dark skin black girls that I find cute and physically attractive usually go for the hat tipping, pants sagging, swagged out black guys. I happen not to be that so those girls don't come to me. Hey, I like women in general I am not gonna waste time changing who I am just to get with dark skin black women. I am who I am.

  • @flizzleFlopper I couldn't agree with you more.I bet before you married a white woman alot of black women would look right pass you like you don't exist, and soon as they see you in a happy relationship with a woman from another race, they start to envy that, and they are always quick to blame the black man about their own problems, their problems come from the choices they made in the past, and their atttitudes contribute to the bitter stage their in to,but alot of them don't see that.

  • @flizzleFlopper: Brother I hear you. This topic can be tricky. As an African-American woman who will be 27 in 2 days, I have felt the same pain of brothers never showing me love. Now, to say the least, I'm dark skinned and natural...have NEVER worn a weave. I find that now in my 20's, White men find me more attractive. Black men have said, that I was FINE, but too dark. But, when they see me and my man out in the street, they trip.

  • @ari66889922-- never see a white man compaining about racial profiling

  • If a man hates himself, he hates that which looks like him. Some say Hitler had Jewish blood and he sought to destroy all Jewishness

  • Exactly, men don't get 'stolen', they choose to go off with another woman . . . But theres nothing really wrong with 'mixed race' relationships & even if u keep 2 ur own 'race', it's a bit of a tall order to expect ur partner 2 have the exact same skin tone as u, & thats just superficial anyway, surely the shade of someones skin shud come 2nd 2 their personality . . . ;)

  • excellent solutions, all we have to do is ACT on it.

  • I noticed every single female on that video had something in common even more so than the race issue.

Every one of them is slim. Out of, what? 50, 60 couples featured? There wasn't a SINGLE "thick" (overweight or obese, really) female in that lineup. And you've gotta know at least SOME of those couples have been together for 10 years or more.

Just goes to show all that about crap black men "liking" all this obesity is just BS. Truth is, when you can afford to do better, you do.

  • @CarvinCole I noticed the same thing. But I've been saying FOR YEARS that all that BS that black guys like these obese females is crap. Give a brother some money, move him out of the hood and put him in a place where he can choose whatever he wants and you will NOT see all this fat this and fat that he keeps talking about. The brothers you see with those fat women do it because they, in their present situations, CANNOT DO ANY BETTER. So they fake it 'til they can make it. Simple.

  • First of all, young lady I want to say you are a beautiful, articulate, very classy young lady. Just wanted to get that out there.

My thing, more so than race or skin color, is the obesity epidemic that seems to hit our sistas in such huge number. Its harder and harder today for a young man to find a sista who's interested in fitness, nutrition and placing a value on her appearance in anything but the most superficial of ways.

  • @rayhend100 True. Obesity in the black community is a badge of honor it seems. Here in Buffalo I see some of the most raggidy looking bodies on young girls and woman than I have ever seen back in California.

There are high school aged girls walking around with these huge sloppy bellies looking like 35 year old women after they had a couple of kids. Yuck!!! Slim down people!!

  • A buzzards lays and waits for leftovers (welfare) An eagle creates it's own destiny by skillfully hunting down it's prey. It watches it's moves and calculates it's attack with years of practice. You don't see a buzzard on the dollar bill. You don't see it on any flag do you? I a buzzard only comes around when the prey is already down to it's last breath.

  • us light skinned brothas look way better.point blank

  • Smart young women. Its good to hear you talking to your father

  • are not the standard that we are not normal, manhy blacks still view that we are cursed,,we didn't come up with thta shit ourselves those things were pushed upon us we must not marginalize ourselves again we must remove these white blinders that we have been wearing for countless years,,Check out Langston Hughes short work called "The Negro artist and the Racial Mountain" i am sure it can be googled.

  • That white supremacy has left upon us learn to celebrate our own beauty, because beauty is symmetry not complexion or aquiline features hair texture our phonetics. Many blk mn indentify with the american ideal of Machismo!!!this misplaced masculinization manifest itself in violent acts at times, its not a black problem its an american problem,we are like everything else in the universe subject to the laws of cause and effect,,,and we have been affected by this paradigm which dictates that we cont

  • Nice video, the thing is blk wm and mn don't exist as seperate entities, like you said we need to be working togehter and with that being said we have to stop viewing ourselves the way we are viewed by the mainstream.I disagree though with your view about the past, the way we view ourselves in directly linked to our past so we must aknowledge the past we are all sum of our past experiences,we do have to learn how to love ourselves as you said and that can only come if we remove the white blinders

  • Slavery? The Dark people need to really study Slavery, The Moors of Europe, Arab/Muslim Slavery and all the history it includes. Did you know one of the first Popes was African? Did you know Africans and their descendants were all over the Earth before Europeans even learned to read? Being of pale skin is only a characteristic. The dark people are the original humans, all others are only mutations of the dark.

  • For example, I like to snowboard, collect classic autos, travel abroad, play instruments, read books on history, develop business ventures, fish, collect Cabernets, trade stocks, converse about a wide range of topic matter and most of all learn from people of all walks of life, but sadly the BW in my area are not concerned with any thing other than themselves and their thug mentality babies daddies types.

  • @MrVeesworld maybe if you get off of your high horse, you would see the beauty of a woman, and introduce her to your world, instead of being condescending, your world appears to be much smaller than you think it is if those are the only BW's you come across, also even if BW are like that it is not their complexion that makes them that way, there are countless white women as well, that are only concerned with themselves, yet you don't trash them, whenever i think to down BW,I think about my mom,and stop!!

  • Your words-"I'm sorry to say this but your "full of bullshit" because if you actually tried you would succeed in getting with a BW" If a BW fit my criteria, looks wise, personality, similar experiences, interests, globally minded and forward thinking, then I would of course go for that person if there is the attraction too, but that type, my type is rare to locate.

  • Black men are better off dating white or Hispanic or Asian women. Black women are just stuck up and dumb idiots

  • Great video. You are a bright girl. I date a specific type of woman, intelligent, sophisticated, charming, socially graceful and well traveled. The thing is they always happen to be white or european. Black girls don't come on to me cause I speak too proper and eloquently for their taste. So whatever.

  • @MrVeesworld maybe because you think that you speak eloquently is the problem, eloquent would be subjective proper is also a misguided term, maybe they don't like you because they think you are wack!

  • @richbullva Nice try and feeble attempt to berate and disqualify my initial comment. To further expound on your view of of the subjective use of the word "proper" ....well, I have this to say; in the black community at large, there is a propensity to use words that are not English such as "dat," "dis," "whatchuwant," etc. As for being "wack" -well that is subjective now isn't it!?

  • @MrVeesworld yes wack is subjective and they may subjectively view you as such, esp if you "berate" them for PRONOUNCING word like "that"and "this" as "dat" and "dis",that is phonetics, no one remotely insinuates that "dat" is its own word, seriously read the book Black ENglish by JL Hilliard and mayber it will help you understand that phonetics used by blacks are not only extremely old but they differ very little from various European pronuciations(that would not be INLINE with standard)

  • @richbullva Why just because you speak clear "standard" English is it that white's assume your are "well spoken" and blacks assume your are "corny" and "proper?" I have both book smarts and "real world" smarts. Having been born and raised in San Fran, California, I have seen all walks of life, rubbed elbows with Billionaires (yes..JPaul Getty Family) as well as living in the hood of the east bay. The one thing that afforded me those varied experiences was having people skills & standards.

  • @MrVeesworld "Why just because you speak clear "standard" English is it that white's assume your are "well spoken" and blacks assume your are "corny" and "proper?" Because white veiw themselves as the standard and normal, they also view those who appear to emulate that same standard as tolerable, the thing is when certain segments of whites speak differently whether they are in Boston or in Wales we view the way they speak as an accent, black english is demonized and called bad english

  • @richbullva A very sound retort. But come on, there is 'bad" english and "poor" english. The southern states are ripe with "poor" english and some places gravitate towards just plain old awfully formatted english. Did we not all go to english speaking schools regardless of the state from which we came from? Regardless of individual cultures within our own American heritage, I still believe that a common standard should be in upheld. Being able to switch between the two at the very least.

  • @MrVeesworld Thank you!and i am from the south,by the way,and i say "dat" when i speak all the time and I used to get upset with myself for it until i realized that language is fluid it doesn't and hasn't for yrs remained in stasis!also neither you nor me learned english in school we learned it at home and in our communities, black english has rules, black english is no more bad english than spanish is bad latin,if anything it is a language unto itself, and it has effected american speach esp in

  • @richbullva Uh- Spanish is based in Latin & so is English, French and other languages. But Latin is a dead language anyways. Of course black english has it's etymology based from hybrids of W Africa/English/Arabic and many others strands, and correct it has it's rules. Keeping one's self away from USA standards or alienating it from one's vocabulary is suicidal isolation from the mainstream if- you wish to be apart of that said mainstream. We blk people are own worst enemies sometimes.

  • @MrVeesworld English is not based on Latin English is a Germanic tounge though 60%of it vocab is latin its structure and sytnax is much more akin to its pre Norman invasion Anglic roots (circa 1066),me like most blacks are for lack of a better word bilingual, since we learn standard english in schools, that often does not fall in line completely with the black english we learned in our homes, the problem is Americans instead of recognizing black english as the language that it is,WE demonize it

  • @MrVeesworld call it lazy which pushes many blacks away from standard forms but all the cats I know are pretty aware of this linguistic difference and we switch it up with relative ease, BLACK PEOPLE DO NOT SPEAK BAD ENGLISH!!!,we only speak english differently!!!AGAIN without that isolation that you call suicidal ther would be NO authentic american music, the music form which dominates the world bruh!!!Michael Jackson was and is the most known person ever in the history of the world and cont

  • @richbullva Sometimes u have to know your opponent (oppressor) up close and personal before you can dismantle their power by either "appearing" non threatening or through assimilation. If there is one thing we can do as people in America is to know the rules first, then bend them to our will.Sometimes you have to know your opponent (oppressor) up close and personal before you can dismantle their power by either "appearing" non threatening or through assimilation.

  • @richbullva If there is one thing we black folk can do as a people in the USA is to know the rules first, then bend them to our will. But we tend to break laws in obvious ways (robbing, selling drugs etc) - going to jail in record numbers instead. Judges make assumptions on a person by how they dress and talk so why give them the upper hand? This is a bigger issue and another topic matter all together.

  • @MrVeesworld we should attack a system that jails blacks at alarming rates for selling drugs, there would be no drug dealers without users and there would be far fewer users if we weren't messed up to begin with,,social problems lead to drug use,

  • @richbullva "if we weren't messed up to begin with,,social problems lead to drug use," What social problems do we have as a people? in your opinion?

  • @MrVeesworld OUr main problem in my opinion may surprise you,I think that we suffer most because we dont celebrate our own image as beautiful,we see through blue eyes so to speak,we view ourselves as abnormal, and we view white folks as normal,we view disdainfully the way we talk, look, and dress. How else could we make such statements as nigger mentality where everything associated with blacks is profane and the white is right mentality, yes its simple, but its a the root of what hinders US!!

  • @MrVeesworld used words like JUM,,ON,,FOR COME ON!!,language historically has always been subject to the ever changing landscape on which it is used,I realize that much of black english is not inline with standard english however i digress that it is not a result of laziness,it is the result of learning the language under extremely different circumstances,we would better serve ourselves and our children if we recognize this!!

  • @richbullva Which was money of course and it worked. Did I fool them? Yep! Seriously, I grew up in the 60's and 70's a time when we had so much pride and hope, then the 80's rolled around and we have been in free fall ever since. So I took upon myself to outsmart these crooks (whitey) by learning their systems and breaking the code

  • @MrVeesworld what do you think caused this freefall in the 80's that you speak of,are we not still affected by such

  • @richbullva The free fall from the 80's came about through Reaganomics, high unemployment, the broken family structure and the fast cash of selling Crack along with it's usage and ravaging of the community in short of 3 or 4 years circa-1982-1986. I saw it up close and personal at that time in my hood (East Palo Alto, Ca at the time it was the murder capital of America...look it up.

  • @MrVeesworld I am from RIchmond Va!!!I am well aware of how crack destroyed many communial aspects of the neihborhoods!the murder rate and all it was a and continues to be a wild west mentality. a mentality of money over everything, its some sad shit I see it everyday but what we ignore is that is an american problem not a black problem, blacks dont exist as islands in the sea that is america, rather blacks have been and are being effected by what america was and what WE are as a country today!!!

  • @richbullva If it is an American problem, which it is , then why do our communities completely fall apart, with higher murder rates and crime versus the Beverly Hills type places? They use the same drug don't they? IS there a correlation between poverty and crime? Of course. The solution? Work, education, and self respect for your own street block and community. Something we as a people are not holding ourselves to task for.

  • @richbullva Yes I learned english at home just the same as school. My parents came from different sides of the track, dad from middle class college upbringing, mom from the hood, but both were clear communicators, read books, went to theatre, outgoing, social, moved to the suburbs when I was 4 years old etc. Thanks to them, lazy talking, was not inherent in the household. Mom worked for Stanford Univ Pathology dept and dad was a Homicide Detective. Point being effective comnication was valued

  • @MrVeesworld your parents took the blue pill and mine took the red so to speak, lol,my grandfather was one of the first black Chemist in Va,He was a wiz,yet never did he discount the validity of the common folk of our area,i learned english from the area in which I was born it didn't occur to me that it was any different until i was in the 7th grd and kept a journal that i realized that some of the words that i used, like "JANK"(colloquiolism for joint, something i learned latter)

  • @MrVeesworld were not words at all,was my usage of such words the result of laziness on my part our my parents?no it was just the language that we used in our area!!!and i was always able to convey my point to whomever i spoke with and that is whats important, not how much i adhere to the standard,as you can see i have little difficulty conveying my thoughts now despite my dual language usage!!!I am enjoying this lets continue,i do not wish to offend you either fyi!!!

  • @richbullva Not offended and as I stated, I try to keep an open mind and learn where and from whomever I can. Through this powerful conversation, I can now add yet another layer to an already multi layered view. So I commend you for hanging in there and seeing the debate through.

  • @MrVeesworld thank you i am glad you are not offended, but seriously i am tired of hearing blacks attack eachother for white folks, for not ascribing to a standard that is not only considered a standard but is considered normal and correct,we are our worst enemies

  • @MrVeesworld in the south, and those places most effected by immagration Nrt east and the Midwest(who sound southern to me),bruh i understand what you are saying please check out the book black english by JL Hilliard, its a good read and very informative, language standardization is fairly new to the western world english wasnt standardized until 1611 with the wrting of the Kng James Bible, similar things happened in other cultures arabic standardized by the Quran, yet most arab do not speak Kufic

  • @richbullva You only answered half my question. What about the other half regarding blacks calling those who speak a certain way "proper" or "corny?" How come we can't just be talking "regular words" or sentences that actually have some meat on the bones so to speak. I see a certain amount of laziness in some of our communities. Library's exist for a reason, why spend time on the corner for hours when you can read a book, watch a documentary or hold deep conversations? Oh, that's too wack?

  • @MrVeesworld you are right i did only answer 1part,THe reason for that is because it is a way to fight back at a system that tell you, that you are stupid and inarticulate, the fact is many blacks,I being one of them take pride inthe way we speak, the way the language flows form our gullets so to speak, there would be no rock&roll without black english, there would be no american music without black english!!!you call it lazy but that is only your perspective, the ROmans for instance viewed the way

  • @richbullva Taking pride is one thing. I am proud as well, especially at what we have been able to overcome and achieve in the last 100 years since before Jim Crow. But we have so much further to go and I feel we at times, limit our potential by not taking part in the world outside of our own (hood). I believe, again, the key is knowledge and awareness (reading) and being able to convey your own thoughts in a universally excepted way. Why self ostracize? The more tools the better.

  • @MrVeesworld the way the gauls spoke latin as bad latin, yet the gauls would go on to speak there own language,French,

  • @MrVeesworld also in one of my responses i beliieve i shouls have said Whites arrogantly view themselves as the standard and normal, with indignance and malice at times!!!

  • @richbullva I called it suicidal isolation because, if you are going for the middle ground, standard American experience, and I say " IF," then something so basic as getting a job interview at XYZ corp can b difficult if you are "sounding" ebonic" through and through. I am playing the devils advocate when I speak on this. When I waited tables at a posh restaurant, I had to crack the code of my white guest by playing on their field to get what I wanted cont-

  • @MrVeesworld most blacks code switch all the time linguistically! my point is to call it lazy our ignorant is just stupid and completely ignores how languages form and the rich legacy that is black english,we all play the game however we don't have to down eachother amongst ourselves we will lose that which makes us who we are which is so much deeper than the color of our skins

  • @richbullva You keep referring to downing each other. "Calling it lazy" is ignorant? So what is calling somebody talking white or "proper?" Stupid then? UN BLACK? WTF? In our culture, it SEEMS LIKE if you assimilate, you a sell out, if you hang in the hood or on the corner , YOU KEEPIN IT REAL, if you remotely sound educated, you are corny, if you put rims on your piece of shit Chevelle and wear a brim, you got swagger. If you skin is too light/dark, then you are this, or that.

  • @MrVeesworld no calling it lazy is not neccessarily ignorant, most americans misuse the word" ignorant" I think i said indignant, calling it lazy is plain and simply wrong!!Another word we misuse is "EDUCATED" a word that comes from the Latin Educare, meaning to rear,so if you are reared a particular way you will express yourself as such,I think i explained why many blacks look disdainfully on such Language, but i shall again, its because for hundreds of years we have been told that we speak cont

  • @richbullva And one more thing: I have met some of the most intellectually stimulating and informative people on the "STREETS" the type most people would be afraid to STOP and talk to. I learn something new wherever I can. I am in Buffalo NY currently, so that may give weight to the type of people I see daily, so my world is limited for now due to my business venture (real estate) but no matter what i will take something away from that and keep it moving.

  • @MrVeesworld feeble attempt and nice try at the same time?lol, whatchuwant is not a word its a combination of words as you knw,and it happens in quite a few west african languages, the combining of words is common in most other languages in arabic it is called idafa for instance,we americans place a premium on language that is silly ,for instance i was in Korea and we just assumed that the Koreans that spoke more intelligible english we more intellegent, boy were we wrong, lnaguage is fluid!!!

  • @richbullva We Americans place a premium on words (to better effectively communicate)... and what's wrong with that? Those who do it well ascend to the level of the Colin Powells, Obamas or Oprah Winfreys of the world. Who would take them seriously if they spoke lazy short hand English? What is wrong with holding yourself to task with regards to the "standard" versus the hybrids of what is commonly known as ebonics. You are a smart person but I think we are talking about different ideals.

  • @richbullva I too have been to various countries; Czech Republic, Holland, Germany, Greece, Thailand, China and many others. I am open to all points of views and styles, BUT this does not mean others share that same open viewpoint. So when I say, I do not tend to attract BW on the whole IN MY AREA, it is because our interests are not the same. As soon as I open my mouth, I get pigeonholed to a degree. Being told you speak "all proper" is annoying. WTF?

  • I never mentioned WW being anything! You did. I said they seem to come after me MORE so than sistas. Phonetics? Sure I understand that point. But come on!!? You went through the 4th grade, you learned your conjunctions, pronouns, adjectives and know that the is "the" not "duh" etc. It's the perception & assumptions of (blk and white people) that bothers me. Cont-

  • @MrVeesworld in sorry to say this but your full of shit because if you actually tried you would succeed in getting with a black woman. but you have not tried to meet these women on equal grounds. but bet you havent even tried to do anything that will interest these women that might not even interest you. men like you complain but you do not put in the effort to try to make a relationship with a black woman work. and maybe she might not have all the credential you like so you turn her down.

  • @Jsamine89 I am not judging how a person speaks (all though it can be a turn off sometimes) but, I am listening to what people are talking about and how they communicate most definitely. The English language has many strands, yes. However, words like ain't and dat or not going to fly in the professional world, or at colleges, or in a court case when you wish to persuade the judge to chose your side of things.

  • @MrVeesworld I'm sorry to say this but your "full of bullshit" because if you actually tried you would succeed in getting with a BW. But you have not tried to meet these women on equal grounds. But bet you haven't even tried to do anything that will interest these women that might not even interest you. Men like you complain but you do not put in the effort to try to make a relationship with a BW work. And maybe she might not have all the credential you like so you turn her down.

  • @Jsamine89 You also mention that your boyfriend is "corny." What the hell does that mean? I think I already know what you are about to say, but I just want to not assume, so please enlighten me with your point of view.

As for giving BW a chance to meet on even ground, I would like to mention that attraction starts from some form of equality or affinity to relate on a certain level (intellectually, spiritually whatever), but there are other factors as well.

  • And also i no ur full of bullshit because my boyfriend is the same way as you but you know he did he do thing that i like. He have of 1 of those personalities that you just no he's going to be with a WW but he doesn't want 1 and believe you me, me and him are complete opposites. But my point is that he tried and me and him have a great relationship and yes he is corny but i can say he always put a smile on my face everyday and never bring me heartache, so i if u truly every would happened.

  • @Jsamine89 Interesting response: "He have of 1 of those personalities that you just no he's going to be with a WW " What does that mean? So now a there are personalities that dictate the actual race one attracts? Maybe you are right. Hood rats like the dumb, non educated, jail bird type street mentality ridden personalities. Soo.... by default, I guess the opposite personality type (well spoken, open minded, book schooled) leans toward WW? You tell me.

  • @MrVeesworld most book schooled people aren't very open minded, they are stuck between the binders of those books,I am black from the "hood" as you say,yet i haven't met many who could hold a candle to me when debating social issues because you all say the same shit and i have been doing this for quite a while, again you act as if all WW are intellectual beast,as if their skin color has something to do with there intellect.I have met countless indignant and ignorant WW

  • AND I HOPE YOUR NOT JUDGING THESE WOMEN ON THE WAY THEY SPEAK BECAUSE NO AND I MEAN NO LANGUAGE IS CORRECT. AND DEFINITELY NOT THE AMERICAN ENGLISH BECAUSE OUR LANGUAGE IS DEPRIVED FROM MANY DIFFERENT LANGUAGE SO ITS REALLY NO WRONG WAY TO SPEAK IT. LIKE ALL SPANISH IS NOT THE SAME. CUBANS, MEXICAN, AND PUERTORICANS SPANISH ARE DIFFERENT IN SOMEWAYS. JUST LIKE JAPANESE, CHINESE, AND KOREANS LANGUAGE ARE NOT ACTUALLY THE SAME WAY BUT YOU CANT GO OVER THERE AND TELL THEM THEIR LANGUAGE IS WRONG,

  • I really do not understand this.... whats up with people having this mentality like I need to like "my race" or "my people", I am sorry how ignorent is that? How and why do some people attach themselves to something that they had absolutely no control over, you had no say in the race you are born so how can someone group themselves with a group of people they share no similarity to other than their defined race. Maybe I'm alone on this but people should just date who they like.

  • @DalazG That's not it. What she means it in a equal way. Of course, there's no rule saying that you need to like your own race. What's she's trying to say was there's a pattern - a majority of the time black men tend to go for the light/white colored people and I suppose it's black women feel like they are the weaker vessel compared to white women. Women white are still idealized in the media and socially. It may not be as bad as before, but it's still happening.
