@BygPhattyPlus I plays this game on Windows 7 Enterprise OS and other then needing to use compatability mode it's been giving me hours and hours of non stop fun tho I can't seem to find the tubat "Temple" in the 3rd klingon mission called "Into the Aera" :( but yea works with Windows 7 :)
@BygPhattyPlus i'm using windows XP service pack 3 compatibility settings and i'm not sure as i set the compatibility settings and set it to run as admin and so far the longest i've played it is 4 hours straight before exiting the game to rest my eyes and play some RoN,AoE (1 and 2),RoL,SC:BW,Civ 4 (Has complete edition)
and that's not counting the 200 gigs of games i've not yet installed since i upgraded from vista XD

@superlordgoku That sucks. There's no patches for New Worlds and it I have fojund that it's a graphic card issue; my card isn't compatible with that game. Bah.
@ 1.05 what mission is that? I've never seen a mission where the Klingon Bird-of-Prey attacks the Federation outpost... and the Phaser Turrets are also kinda big...
@zieba There is also a screenshot around with four Metar Advanced Ras beasts destroying the Federation Colony Hub in the final mission... is that also from a Beta version?
@horusrage I know that the BoP has Disruptors, I was referring to the Federation Phaser Turrets; these were bigger than I have seen them in the game itself.

Short and sweet, looked GREAT for 2000, and I LOVED how building were constructed by the builders, one polygon at a time. Looked so cool, especially compared to the retarded wireframe-ish buildup a buildings in eg. Battlezone 2 and Total Annihilation.
New Worlds was a good idea that didn't quite pan out partly due to the game being rushed out too quickly in a vein attempt to get some sales in to save a company in its death throes (this is also why Starfleet Command II is so glitchy) and partly due to poor overall design...
That said, when New Worlds is at its best (such as in the Federation mission, "Cry Havoc"), I throughly enjoy it, but when it's at its worst (such as in the Federation mission, "Absent Friends"), it's a hair-tearingly frustrating exercise in relentlessly bad pathfinding, dodgy controls and simply ludicrious glitches such as the vehicle yard refusing to build ANYTHING if you tell it to cancel a production order even once, forcing you to raze the yard and build a new one.
@SirBroadsword The worst Federation mission (and worst of all races missions) was the last mission. Nealry impossible to complete! I did it only once in my life! :)
Federations difficult level is medium (last mission - hardest), Klingon level - easy (last mission - not to difficult), Romulan level - avanced/veteran (last mission - surprisingly easy). And that's strange, because actually all Romulan missions are very hard, e.g. "The Mask Slips" mission - terriible location for base! Argh!
@SirBroadsword Romulan base is situated there in the "crossroad" of two outlying Taubat bases (which as we now later turns to Metar base), very nearly situated to Federation "corridor" and additionally sometimes, but not very rarely, Klingon Disruptor Batteries go that road. They want to attack Feds, but "accidentaly" pass near Romulan base! Argh!!!!!!!!!! :P
@SirBroadsword I can come in with that. Surprisingly, only Federation and Romulans have that particular glitch. Never experienced it with the Klingons. But for the rest I actually enjoy the game. It can be inspiring since I actually like the idea it proposed.

No save games was such a stupid oversight. Really the only reason I don't play it still. Especially since 1 slipup and you can ruin a mission you worked on for 4 hours. Pretty good story though.
if only they would make a new version with now a day graphics, i am sure it would sell big.

I wouldn't say that. You can still recover the files via file recovery programs or rebuild the patch from scratch.
Oh btw, if you do, can you write a tutorial on how you made the patch so I might do the same changes for the german version?
