  • would this work on 2.7?

  • wow, this is 4 years ago already...

  • iMACs are terrible for the price i mean in all seriousness a decent imac $3000, custom built OEM PC $2,500 and has arund double the power of the imac which is $500.

Sure no screen but thats irrelevant.... Great song choice btw

  • why bootcamp if exist now on STEAM!!! FOR MAC ! CSS , TF2, Day of Defeat ,etc.

  • @100AngelBoy did you notice when this video was added? lol about 2 years before mac was on steam. there's your answer. ;->

  • these guys are fucking douche bags man they're fucking replying to a 8 month old comment my god get a life !

  • @killa524 lol! Check your removed comments, you revived it. I love people that can dish it, but can't take it. Go play on your overpriced, underpowered pc.

  • Comment removed

  • @killa524 Im not the one who revived a three month old comment, with a far fetched idiotic reply. Move on kid.

  • good and smooth

  • Should have done this on the Stress Test. that is what really tests the Fps. I got 195 fps!

  • mac is a horrible pc

  • will this work on a imac from 2006

  • yeah not impressed, not enough fps, or skills, plus imacs are expensive

  • @yougreengreentube i agree. keep in mind that this video was 2 years ago.

  • @yougreengreentube lololol not engough fps ?^^ i have 80-100 or smthing l1ke this ;)

  • @yougreengreentube 100+ fps isnt enough? wtf?

  • are u playing on a normal mac or imac coz i got an imac and i cant play counterstrike on it

  • @JOSEPHHEIMOANA what are the specs of your iMac and I will tell you if you can play CS 1.6 or CSS on it. :-)

  • WOW how do you get 200 FPS?

    Damn slow PC

  • good news you no longer need boot camp both of these are now full for mac.

  • @FPSGamer847 Yep, I got the email from them tonight as well. I'm looking forward to this. Keep in touch!

  • i like watching these videos now considering that you can play tf2 natively on a mac now

  • on Widows Vista I get a max of 800 fps on CS:S and a max of 600/608 fps on Team-Fortress 2 but that's with 4 GHz quad-core processor , 5 GB of RAM and

Ge Force gtx 465 with 1.5 GB Video RAM

  • @newgenerationisbg Very nice numbers! Is this a machine you built or pre built?

  • @pcfitness it was built for me by a friend of my dad but i replaced Vista With 7 a couple of days ago

  • @pcfitness Doesn't really matter as he don't got 800 fps avg, more likely 100-150 fps avg. My max fps is 917 with an E8400 @3,2GHz, Radeon HD5850 1gb and 4GB ram. My avg is 100-150 depending on map, this is from the latest update that support multicore.

  • What's bootcamp can someone tell me?

  • @MegaLifeWord Bootcamp is a program that ships with our new Mac computer that allows us to run multiple OS's or Operating systems on one machine. It is one of the easiest partitioning programs I have ever used, and i've used A LOT! ;-)

  • Soon we will be able to play these straight from OSX. Yes?

  • @FrosChannel yep, and then some.

  • @FrosChannel Not really in a billions reals. thats why Like you remembered. you cant play games if you have no Pcs Stabled stuff. like when you install CSS theres always errors and meybe Tought. malwares or Viruses in some cases. when you intall and mac cant do that did you forget something?

  • @FrosChannel Mac cant install eny windows Fetures . Its another system another company and CSS is never made for Mac all games are already made for pc Only mac can make games for mac and make cant make valve games. Owned

  • @DSAEY You REALLY need to learn how to do research and proof read your sentences before submitting a comment.

Also you obviously missed the announcement from Valve that Steam is coming to Mac and users will be able to play games using the Source engine like Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike Source, Portal, Half Life 2, etc. Right now I am on a PC using Windows XP, but I have thought about switching to a Mac.

  • @FrosChannel May 12th 2010 :)

  • @FrosChannel Yes, indeed!

  • is it easy to install windows in Bootcamp?

  • In bootcamp you're basically just dual booting right?

  • @shexMEk yep, exactly. all done with bootcamp.

  • yep it runs pretty smooth as good as my 2.7ghz single processor but the bad side of this is that this mac computer is modded to run only those games good, well theres a small problem still. If you try to run games like cod4 or cod6 or far cry, the fps goes right down to 1-20. And theres another problem still. Nobodys playing anymore those shitty games but team fortress 2 haves still players, css and dod players have gone down by 70-80%

  • 4 grand for that?

    over priced

  • Comment removed

  • why the hell would you have 9 gigs of ram. did you have 8gb and then felt like putting an extra 1? 3.2ghz what processor. GTX295, is a nice card. idk how u got up to 4000 dollars. cpu i7 = $300 mobo = $300 295 = $500 case + PSU = $200 max hdd = $100 dvd x 2 = $50 win 7 pro = $200 12GB of RAM = $330
  • @hkseo100 its a mac :/ lol

  • nice lol my crap gpu fan is slow and small its an old card and i cant use anything to speed up the fan so i overheat it all the time

  • And it's still a PC... so you bought yourself a $4000 piece of shit.

  • Comment removed

  • @killa524 Snow leopard is an OS, Apple is the manufacturer of the computer, and it's branded as a Mac. Completely negating your ignorant, poorly thought out, vulgar reply. For example, i'm pwning you right now on my Snow Leopard operated, Apple manufactured MACBOOK right now! Next time you comment on something to which you're not educated on, i'd suggest doing a little research first.

  • @killa524 Lol again at another idiotic comment removed. Thanks for doing everyone a favor and removing your uneducated verbal diarrhea.

  • this was directed at killa524 boasting his $4000 windows os pc. Not at the mac in the video. I own/operate nothing but macs.

You can look in the comment history and find that killa524 has deleted his juvenile comments.

  • i installed source on my imac 27 inch from 2009 and i have to set everything to low because else i cant play it normally :s Is it because im running it true crossover games and not bootcamp ? 3,06 ghz , 4gb ram

  • What graphics card do you have?

  • i dont know if this is right but this is what in it now

    ATI Radeon HD 4670: Chipset Model:ATI Radeon HD 4670 Type:GPU Bus:PCIe PCIe Lane Width:x16 VRAM (Total):256 MB Vendor:ATI (0x1002) Device ID:0x9488 Revision ID:0x0000 ROM Revision:113-B8030F-260 EFI Driver Version:01.00.383

  • @SebastienTemplar It would be much better playing it within Boot Camp.

  • RUN IN BOOT CAMP !!!

  • wich is better nvidia geforce 9400 or hd 2600 pro?

  • think the Radeon hd 2600 should be better 'cause it has its own memory

  • aww damn...haha thx

  • I just went out and bought snow leopard and am going to install boot camp with windows vista. I have good internet connection also. Do you think I will have good video display on these games along with Garrys mod?

Is there anything you did that made the graphics better? Like settings or graphics cards?

  • low graphics on tf2 dont count

  • everything is set to high

  • cant see the fps whats it say?

  • i was getting between 150-250 fps. not too shabby eh. it all depends on how demanding your games are and how strong your hardware is to drive the software ( tf2, ccs, fh2 etc )

  • Will this be only working for those intel-based Macs?

  • what the fuck how do u get such high fps any secrets tell me please because my laptop kicks your computers ass and it cant get fps this high

  • cause it´s a mac.

  • cl_crosshairscale 5000 enjoy :)

  • What was the specs of the iMac and what was the fps in TF2? Sorry, I can't make out the number.

  • Around a hundred.

  • Thank you.

  • bots

  • it has the same fps than my hp 2.33 Ghz quad core... windows vista.

  • how do i set affiinity?

when i right click on the app it doesnt even show it

  • is online free

  • Yup

  • steam?... if u bought the game then online is free yes

  • PC all the way pc gameing computer or a mac witch all u can do is jack off on

  • macs are 10x morepowerful than a pc

  • Not the computer, but the operating system.

  • LOL. Yea, my PC with 8 gigs of ram, GTX 260 OC, and 800 watt PSU is really underpowered compared to your 2 gigs. Don't be a fan boy.

  • Comment removed

  • Love how the mac fan boys are down rating my comment.

  • They gave you thumbs down beacuse you are braging how better your computer is.

  • @brandon32405 i lol'd

if built a pc is MUUUCH more powerful than a mac as mac's weren't designed too be gaming or anything that powerful

  • @brandon32405 lawl, you wish.

  • how about you get a gaming pc?

  • i dont get it why use a mac when you can use a pc for gaming i understand when you buy a mac for work but for games? rofl i dont think so

  • Did it ever occur to you that he might have bought the imac for work? Perhaps he wants to show you that it can play occasional games.

  • My specs:

2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac

    1 GB 667 MHz RAM

    ATI Radeon X1600

I can run Team Fortress 2 at pretty much full FPS on Crossover Games (DirectX 8). How do you think I would do on Boot Camp?

  • you could use more ram. games these days may run a bit smoother with at least 2 gb ram. i got 4 gb.

  • Alright. Thanks for the quick reply.

  • Can't wait till I get my 15" 2.8ghz macbook pro, I've waited 3 years for it.... 3 more months!

  • ass

  • How about the new macbook wjite with geforce 9400 Gpu? Will it run well with bootcamp? :P

  • will these games run fine on a macpro ?

  • absolutely.

  • these games will fly on that thing.

    it's really overkill.

  • the one-eyed black scottish guy. WHY!? JK lol

  • coz scottish guys are awesome , not just because i'm scottish but he's awesome :P

  • he actually isnt scottish... if you think about his beer and stuff, i think he is irish

  • ummmmm were do find this so i can play it for my mac?????¿¿¿

  • pc friggen rips mac to bits

  • lol county strike 1.6 has the shitest grathics

  • its an old game num nuts

  • i have compaq presarioc700 dont know if it will run it....

  • what are you talking about?

  • im talking about my laptop make is called compaq presario c700 and i dont know if tf2 will work on my lap top lol.

  • it might run, might i say, but may not be pleasurable. in fact it might suck horribly.lol

  • TF2 Wins i have it and i looooooove it!!!

Scout is my favorite whats yours?

  • In all honesty, your Presario may run CS:S just fine if you keep the settings down...

A friend of mine plays CS:S on his eMachines with integrated ATi graphics and it runs just fine.

  • lol. ty m8 any way :)

  • I can't believe it, I have the same Imac as you and was considering selling it and getting the one with the 8800GS lol - Ima install bootcamp now and steam xD.

Cheers for the vid you just saved me a big load of cash!!

  • Rock on dude!

    Glad I could help.

    :-)

  • Thanks for this video.

This was an actually a very important find as I'm a CS:S fiend yet I'm making the leap to the world of Apple.

    Thanks again! :)

  • Your very welcome!

  • The fuck? I thought my name was unique... :(

  • Holy shit...

    So did I... :/

    (Awkward.)

  • so did i

    (my actual name is pacmanghosty)

  • omg you people took my name

  • If you are trying some how to say that, it's the Mac that gives the performance and a PC of the same specs would get worse fps. You're wrong. There is no difference in hardware between a PC and a Mac anymore. There would be NO difference.

  • Oh yeah, I would also like to say; that while I was playing tf2 a while back. There was a guy with a Mac. It was lagging like fuck for because he had a Mac. The PC users were all fine. He didn't have shitty specs either

  • Hi can i ask something :P some advise as i see you are gaming on a imac ... so here i comes ! . : I wanna buy a new imac the specs are 2.66Ghz Intelcore 2 Duo 2gb ram (butiwannachanceto4gb) 350 gb & ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO met 256 MB.

So is this anygood if u run bootcamp because i wanna play games like : World of warcaft , Guildwars 2 ( comming 2009 ) , Asassins creed , The new prince of persia game , The sims.

    Plz say something back !.

    Thanks already .

  • Those games will run VERY smooth on the specs you mentioned.

    gl,

    pc.

  • Are u sure because it looks like the specs of the imac im buying arnt that hight ?! i mean the videocard doenst look realy good ?And its a lot of money you know so thats why i need to be sure.

And asassins creed and prince of persia are realy hard games so wouldnt they like lagg ? or something ?

thanks so much for ur first reply :)

  • i did the same thing lol

  • hah i like how he points to the text in the corner as of we can read it

  • source recorder or fraps

  • im gonna get same as yourse but with 3.06 GHz and 2GB RAM my current pc really suck and i still run css but on like 50 fps maybe 80 on low res maps so your vid made my mind more into buying mac

  • If you bought a Mac and a PC of the same specs you would still get the same FPS. You can do everything on a PC, that you can do on a Mac. But better.

  • necermind :)

  • um.. shouldn't demonstration is actual gameplay with others?

  • hu...

  • What are your Video settings, and Resolution for each game? Do you have HDR, AA, AF, etc. on? I ordered my Imac(it's the 3.06, 2 GB RAM, 8800gs, 500 GB HDD).

  • everything was set high. in fact, my friend bought the exact same one you got with the nice video card and he runs the same games i do on my and i swear, all of the steam games like ccs, hl2, tf2 all look like they run smooth on mine and even my friend agrees.... go figure..lol don't get me wrong, the game look great on both, just look like frame rates are smoother. hard to explain. anyway, i'm sure you will have a great gaming experience no matter what. that system rocks!! :)

  • thanks for replying! Just a quick last question. Do you have AA, and AF turned up? If so, to what level, and is Vsync on or off?

  • your very welcome. um, if i remember correctly, AA and AF were turned up moderately but not to the top. because for me, having them turned up to the top doesn't really make a big visual difference, at least for me. i found that the games ran well above 60 fps when i had them turned all the way up and when i had them turned down i was getting like 200 fps..lol crazy right. you'll see.

  • Wow, that's a big difference. Well, I'll just test it myself.

OH, sorry, I have one final question, did you get any drivers from ATI(NVIDIA in my case) for your Graphics Card, or did you just use the default Boot Camp drivers?

  • sir..so um. we can run portable softwares on bootcamp? like a portable photoshop software.

    thanks!

im thinking of getting a mac sometime this month.

  • Yes you can!

  • one last thing.. say youre on the mac o.s. can you open the windows portable softwares from there? or i really have to be on the xp mode.

    thanks a bunch sir.

    im gonna buy mac!=)

  • I'll hopefully get an iMac soon. Bootcamp question: Are you playing the game on XP or vista? I hate vista and would rather install XP if the difference in quality is minimal. I mean how much difference does directX 10 makes? Thanks.

  • He windowed it.. I can see he's running Vista

  • can i run about the same fps using the 2.4 mac with 4 gb of ram?

  • try doubleing that fps he is getting. i have a imac with 1gb of ram and can run WoW at 110fps+ so you can get way better fps

  • It's also about the Graphic card and the CPU

  • the imac has a great videocard so thats not a problem.

  • Very nice video...but you couldn't have chosen crappier music...

  • You should've kept the Black Sabbath in the beginning :(

  • lol, yeah i am definitely a big black sabbath fan. glad you enjoyed it.

  • korn is very much worthy of being there!!

  • how much was your macbook?

  • could i buy a macbook, 2.4Ghz 2g and play cod4?

  • macbooks only have intel graphics which arnt realy meant for gaming.. not sure how it would turn out

  • that's why you get the macbook pro ;)

  • ditto

  • buy a pc then

  • Macs can run Windows. Why buy a PC? Just run all the operating systems. Who wants a clone anyway?

  • macbook pro is the way to go for portable gaming on a mac. trust me. i'll post a vid as response to show how terrible the games are on my macbook regular. I getting pro soon.

  • cool but i think im getin pc anyway

  • song please?

  • wait a sec...is it nine inch nails?

  • dont answer my question ~ i just watched through the entire thing xD

you listed the songs used :P

  • crossover is so complicated i hate it im going with bootcamp!

  • dudes, bootcamp or the hwy. there is no other choice. ;-)

  • What's the best amount to partition the drive for average gaming, not regular/hardcore, and still have space for some things you can't do on a mac?

  • that's kind of a funny question. because you will get a different answer from each gamer. i can tell you what i did, mine was 500gb, i gave my winxp partition 250 of it. i consider myself semi-hardcore. the difference is, i focus on only cod4, tf2, gears of war and last but not least top spin. no time for much else.

  • 1 question if i have a imac and bootcamp with windows xp can i pplay those free MMORPG like rapplez, gunz, fiesta, maple story, rakion, ragnarok, war rock etc?

  • Why wouldn't you?

  • i dont normally post on videos, but ive been thinking about getting one of these to play steam games on. i noticed the fps was normally 3 digits (over 100), but i could not clearly read it. what was the average? it looked like over 300 fps, but the youtube quality mad it hard to see. is there any way you could upload the full-quality video somewhere or send it to me somehow? thanks.

  • the average was about 150fps. i use steam as well so you should have absolutely no problem whatsoever, i don't.

  • what is the alternative to the right click?

  • ctrl + click in osx on a macbook.

  • what program did you use to record this ?

because fraps files are to big

  • If I am not mistaken, it just looks like he is recording it with a camcorder in the dark. The iMac has a high refresh rate so there is no "flicker"

&&& thanks for the video post, I am going to get the 2.8 GHz 4GB iMac, and play a little games now and then. I was worried about the GPU cuz you can buy it on newegg for $90 but no longer have that problem :)

  • good for you :) the main differences between your $900 acer and a $2500 imac is your's looks like garbage, our imac doesn't, try running the mac os on your acer, the imac is also free from 10,000 wires, it runs cool and is virtually silent, the imac is all-in-one your acer is not, the imac/apple holds it's resale value 5x greater than a pc. these are not my facts but facts that are gathered from the web. acer..rofl.

  • how much a difference does performance go if you go from 2 GB ram to 4 GB?

Or is it possible to go higher?
