  • does any one know what the frame is made from? i heard its a polymer frame but i also heard alloy. im thinking alloy cuz its still fairly heavy

  • Thought you could use a definitive answer for the magazines; Beretta website claims that all magazines are interchangeable, the 17 round 90-two magazine works with the M9 and M92FS, and the 15 round mags, as seen in the video, are interchangeable with the 90-Two.

  • @123youknowme Yes it is.

  • Nice review, only the gun's name isn't pronounced "ninety dash two", but simpy "ninety two", Because it's a modern version of the old 92, they couldn't have used the same number name, so they changed it into something new as well. On the slide of the gun it clearly reads: 90two. Not, 90-two, or 90 dash two, or anything like that. So please, fellow 90two owners, name the gun right. Almost everyone on youtube is doing it, please don't. It makes the gun sound weird.

  • i have a airsoft replica of that gun

  • Does the Beretta 90-Two fit in Beretta 92 holsters?

  • @vinhhoang I'm having trouble getting a definite answer without contacting Beretta directly. If it's a nylon or leather holster it should be, but if it's a rigid polymer holster it may not fit. Internally the two guns are very similar but the external contours of the slide are a little different.

  • @swiftcoyote Yea I was thinking about picking up a Beretta 90-Two in a 9mm. But was wondering about holsters. I really like my Blackhawk SERPA that fits my Beretta 45 PX4 Storm. But when I look it up on their website all i can find is the Beretta 92 holster.

  • @swiftcoyote it should fit molded holsters with the rail cover off. Try it and see.

  • thankz man

  • getting mines next week or the week after...definitely!!!!

  • Would anybody recommend this weapon for law enforcement?

  • @gaurdianpaintball I have been carrying one for 2 years with 0 issues.

  • I do agree with you on the guns case and grips... i do wish thay put more into the feel of the grios

  • Well i carry a 1911 full size around with me!!!! So its not to big for me!!! Jk jk i see what your sayin lol

  • Are the 92FS and the 90-Two's magazines interchangeable?

  • @BiGRiCeD I use 15-round Beretta 92 magazines in my gun. The Bereta 90-two uses a newer 17-round magazines. I believe they are interchangeable.

  • @swiftcoyote Thanks.

  • swiftcoyote Will this handle +P, specifically Buffalo Bore +P without damage?

  • @maltieskitten It has a hefty slide, so I would think so. The manual says that extended use of +P ammo will reduce the service life of the gun, but does not that you can not use it in the gun.

  • @maltieskitten If you plan on shooting a lot of +P, consider swapping out the recoil spring for a heavier one while you're shooting it.

  • @RadarGuidedVermin Thanks.

  • Btw, they should keep this design as an option for the 92A1 :[

  • @swiftcoyote How do you think this gun compares to the Five seven from FnH?

  • @RaptaryTRO The Five Seven is a very different kind of gun. It uses a lot more polymer pieces like the fram and magazine. It's also a striker fired gun that fires a proprietary round that makes it more expensive to shoot. I have never fired one so I can't talk about it too much.

  • @swiftcoyote If I may make a polite correction: The FN Five-seveN is actually a hammer-fired pistol, with a concealed hammer, not to mention it has a *single action only* trigger (not that you mentioned its action). And 5.7x28mm is actually cheaper than .45 ACP/.357magnum/etc. to shoot. ~$18/box of 50. Definitely not as cheap as 9mm but perfectly doable.

  • @RaptaryTRO the Five-seveN is much more expensive ($1000 vs. $670), yet lighter/well-balanced pistol. Its round reaches farther and shoots flatter. If you don't live in California, you get 20 round magazines (that feed straight down like an AR mag).

  • is the guide rod meta or plastic?

  • @Jamesadeth It's a plastic guide rod where the spring and guide rod are one piece.

  • Christ, and I thought the 92FS was sexy!

  • i think this model is ugly in comperences with the 92 model

  • The magazine capacity for the Beretta 92 (9mm) is 15 rounds - Beretta 90-Two (9mm) is 17 rounds. The magazine capacity for the Beretta 96 (40 S&W) is 11 rounds - Beretta 90-Two (40 S&W) is 12 rounds. Mec-Gar does off higher capacity magazines and yes the 92/96 magazine will fit the 90-two.

The grip information on the video is incorrect, there are only TWO sizes STANDARD or SLIM. The pistol comes with the STANDARD grips and you can buy the SLIM grips from Beretta for about $20.

  • @CnSTX Hmm...*scratches chin*...it appears you're right on both counts. The Beretta 90-two has a 17-round magazine and there are only two grip sizes. That really sucks only two choices.

  • @swiftcoyote I talked to Brownell's the other day and they HAD both grips available, they call them GRIP UNITS (slim part #: 913-100-496). They are only $8.99 and are currently on back order, should have them in next week. I don't know if they are actual Beretta parts, can't really see anybody making after-market parts.

  • @swiftcoyote Well the big thing is that with a normal m9 is you cant change the grip size, with the 90-two you can

  • @swiftcoyote Do you think they'll ever be able to make some really nice looking wood grips on these? Or does the wrap-around design not allow that?

  • @ImWatchinTheTube I heard a rumor the 90-two will be discontinued so that would mean companies would not want to develop new accesories for it. The beretta 92A1 may be intended to replace it. Also I believe the way the grips are would make it difficult for wood.

  • @swiftcoyote OK, good to know, even if it is dissapointing. Thanks for the reply.

  • If the case and the grips are your biggest problem, you're doing fine.

  • do u know if it can accept beretta 92 threaded barrels for suppressors or compensators? also do they make them in other finishes besides flat balck like nickel or stainless or 2-tone? any problems with feeding or misfires

  • @GunRunna47 I never got a clear answer on interchangeablity of part between the two models, but it does appear to be the same barrel. It only comes in the all black finish, and I've never had any problem with reliabliity besides a few "stove pipes."

  • @rtramsey are you stupid ??? he said the - part to emphasize that its a different model to the beretta 92

  • My 90 two magazines hold 17 rounds 9mm..

  • @rtramsey It's interchangeable with the 92's. I even bought Beretta 92 mags for my gun to replace my 10 rounds magazines. The PX4 storm magazines are not interchangeable.

  • what is the capacity of the standard 90-two mag

  • @beethovenmetalhead 15 rounds for the 9mm version and 11 rounds for the .40 S&W.

  • the name does sound terrible. ...... 90-two

  • good call swiftcoyote your right.

  • Great vid! Great Weapon!

  • its not "Ninety dash two"

its pronounced "Ninety two" dumbass. do you ever pronounce the - when youre reading?

    youre a total idiot, seriously.

  • Did you even watch the video? The "92" is a different model. The problem is not that you know nothing, but you know a little bit and think you know a lot.

  • Doesn't sound like you're completely happy with it...why did you get it?

  • why did u get it if there is nothing good about it for you?

  • What I love about the 90two is the lack of a "magazine disconnect" function; I wanna operate my gun even when the magazine is out!

Although it is a pretty hefty pistol, I'd use it as a carry gun. If I wanted a pocket pistol (and/or something for my girlfirend to put in her purse), I'd get the 950, like my friend's mom has.

  • looks like a sci fy version of the 92fs

cool lookin but not as nice as the 92fs imho

  • I just bought a 90 two. My first Beretta. I must say, there's a reason they've been in business so long.

  • Not to criticize , but even though it appears that both of your magazines are out of gun and on the table, you didn't appear to safety check your weapon. (At least not until half way through your review). I'm not picking on you , just passing on some helpful common knowledge. SAFETY FIRST !!!!!!!!!!! Always treat your weapon as loaded! Otherwise,a very good and thorough review .

  • I'm planning on buying my first hand gun soon and it's going to be a beretta. Would you recommend buying this or the 92fs? I really like the fact that this has an accessory rail

  • Beretta makes the M9A1 which has a accessory rail. You might want to look at that too.

  • @swiftcoyote

as far as I've heard, the M9A1 isn't on the commercial market. Only the standard M9 is, which doesn't have the accessory rail.

  • @flexx1987 check out the Beretta PX4 Storm also....I personaly like the 92SF (its standard issue for military). If you decide to look at anything other than Beretta, I would strongly urge you to look at HK USP's or the HK P30 (especially this one)

  • @flexx1987

I'm actually in the same boat. It's either gonna be the 92FS Inox, 90-TWO, or the PX4 Storm (Also having the picatinny rail)

  • I just read the 92A1 is supposed to be coming out soon. It's a 92fs with picatinny rail and the 90-two recoil buffer system. but I think I'm set on the 90-two I like the modern look

  • Can the Beretta 90 Two accept 10 round 92/96 magazines?

  • @waroffiveeye Yes, it should.

  • USAF Security Forces carries a round in the chamber w/ safety off.

  • try to get some met gar mags.they preform awesome ad actually the mag cap is higher

  • @lanceglock45 I got mec gar magazines for a .40 Beretta CX4 Storm that I no longer have. The springs were way too weak so I just threw them out and kept the magazine extensions that came with them. Only experience with mec gar I ever had.

  • @swiftcoyote oh man that sucks,i haven't tried their .40 mags, but in my Beretta 92fs they work awesome.but i no longer carry my Beretta, just my glock 23 and there's no substitute for a glock mag

  • @lanceglock45 I bought a glock 19 two weeks ago and I am impressed with how many round you can fit in the small magazine.

  • Under no circumstances should anybody believe it is safe or acceptable to carry a chambered firearm with the safety turned off

  • If I remember right that's how the army does it. Hammer down, safety off. Also all revolvers are carried like that.

  • I was a paratrooper in the army 4 years, including a year in combat. Never acceptable to carry a firearm with the safety off. The proper way to carry the m9 is hammer down safety ON. This is not a revolver. And not all revolvers can be safely carried with a round chambered

  • @airinf2001 All right whatever. Go watch your Paris Hilton videos which you subscribe to and like so much.

  • @airinf2001

We'll let that be your little secret. The way your MOS carried the M9 is not the universal standard of the US Military. The Beretta can be safely carried with the safety off, and one in the chamber. I challenge you to find reputable evidence which states otherwise regarding mechanical safety and reliability of said weapon system.

  • Before you go and carry a loaded weapon out in public, get some training from somewhere besides the internet. I would be interested in hearing your theory on why beretta went to all the trouble of putting a safety on their pistols or what is the great advantage to leaving the safety off. Before anyone responds again with anymore crap keep in mind again that I have actually used a beretta pistol in real world situations. Mechanical safety aside, untrained idiots are the issue here.

  • Airinf2001,

I am in the military in a law enforcement role. I carry the M9 daily chambered with the safety off (as mandated in my career field), and have so for the past 10 years. I have yet to see, hear or even read about the weapon simply "going off".

The mere presence of a safety/decock does not mean that is the only "right" way.

  • You've been in the army 10 years? Never heard of a negligent discharge? Sorry I'm not buying it

  • I never said I was in the Army Airinf2001. It turns out we have different branches of service. I said I am military law enforcement. Further, I specifically stated discharges regarding the "mechanical safety and reliability" of the weapon. That means the inherent safety and reliability of the weapon, not the jackass using it. Generally speaking, the human being is usually the weak link when it comes to inadvertent discharges with relations to modern and/or reliable firearms.

  • That is what I am saying, too many weak links carrying weapons in an unsafe manner. Thought this was common sense stuff. These responses I'm getting are pushing me closer and closer to being pro gun control.

  • Air, the weak link is the human, not the weapon. An M9 doesn't just magically discharge itself. If comments on Youtube are driving your political views regarding the 2nd Amendment, then you have issues. Again, the way your unit and/or MOS carried the M9 is not a universal standard with reference to the US Armed Forces.

  • @airinf2001 That is why Google was invented don't criticize, learn or pretend to know all and never learn. Your choice.

  • I actually carry the 92fs on duty and also carried one in the military. I bought the kit from beretta to make the safety into just a decocker. However one of my friends that carries the same weapon carries his with the safety off just so in a high stress situation there is no mistake to be made of not switching off the safety. When you need to use that weapon you don't want to be messing with a safety. No different than a glock really. Unholster, grip, aim , squeeze..

  • Care to enlighten us as to how you did this? Converting a 92FS into de-cock only is impossible without some custom work on the internals as I understand it, certainly not just a parts swap/kit. You'd need a G slide.

I know you can on the PX4 and 8000 series, but how the heck did you do so on a 92FS?

  • The beretta rep had the parts shipped to us and our armorers did the work. Those that didn't want the safety payed out of pocket at reduced cost.

  • Hmm, I only ask because this has been a recurring issues for YEARS over at berettaforum and no one there has figured out how to do so in a reasonable manner. Do you know what parts were shipped or anything about the process. There's literally people that would pay to find this out, not even kidding, haha.

  • I'm off today but when I go to work tomorrow I will go talk to one of the armorers and try to find out man. We have gone to mostly glocks now but I refuse to carry the scion of handguns. I honestly don't know what all they did to them but I will get back to you in a day or two.

  • @airinf2001 You could have been the king of england, doesn't mean you know anything. Go look up the G model 90-two or 92/96. G models don't even have a safety. It acts as a decocker only. No intelligent person would have a weapon unloaded in a combat zone, to were they have to rack the slide, so I would imagine everyone with a G model has a chambered round with NO safety

  • Cool, someone on youtube who keeps their finger off the trigger and uses a proper grip.

  • I think "90-two" is a pretty unoriginal name to tell you the truth (good gun, though). I call it the "Nine Zero Two" :)

  • That's what I've taken to calling it, as well.

  • Good call :)

  • People !!!

There is no reason why you can't carry this gun all day and night, either concealed or open. It is an easy gun to carry. Under my shoulder it disappears totally. On my hip in a Serpa holster i cannot even feel it. As a hip holstered weapon you won't know it is there.

There is nothing wrong with carrying this or any other large frame auto ALL DAY !

Good video and good gun !!

  • Do you have a SERPA specifically for the 90-TWO, or does a holster for another model do the job? I've been looking for a good answer (I like the look and feel of a SERPA) but have yet to find one.

  • I don't have a serpa holster for it, nor I know if Blackhawk makes one. I've never gotten a straight answer as to what parts and holsters are interchangeable between the 92FS and 90-two. The trigger guard is different and serpa holsters lock into the trigger guard. If I had to guess I'd say you need one specifically for that model.

  • Thanks for the reply, swiftcoyote. I wasn't familiar with the comment printing format, by the way. That was directed at "ihaveairlockers." You answer's a good one too, though! :-D

  • then your getting burned. I just bout a 90TWO .40 S&W for 700 brand new

  • learn more about firearms before doing a firearm review, but great job for a beginner. Hope you have fun shooting!

  • Nice review!

  • Just because you didn't see him do it, doesn't mean he didn't do it off camera. Not to mention he starts the review with the magazine out of the weapon. Of course there could be a round in the chamber, but if you watch his other videos, you'd see he handles his guns safely.

  • do you know if those magazines are interchangeable with 92fs mags?

  • Yes they are.

  • doesn't matter now, turns out this gun is illegal in california :/. thanks for the info though

  • Ok, I have to do a little bitching about this video. It's not horrible, but there's HUGE procedural problem here.

Always start any weapons handling with a full clearing procedure so everybody else knows that you're being as safe as you know you are. Don't wait four and a half minutes to clear your weapon.

And for anyone who's curious, those are Federal Hydra-shok rounds. Not sure what the grain weight is, but the nickel plated and belted case give it away. Amazing defense round. Great choice.

  • ok. thanks!

  • how much is the cost of that gun?

  • I believe I paid $600 for it.

  • I like heavier guns. I never have to carry my guns for any reason so weight doesn't bother me at all.

  • Thanks for the review. i have this gun but in .40 S&W. i love this gun but yeah it sucks about the grips.. also yes the 92/96 slides and barrels can be used on this gun.

  • Yes I bought 5 beretta 92 factory mags and sold the two 10-rounders that came with em. They all work fine.

  • It's a "light alloy" which very likely could be aluminum.
