  • too much rushinnnngggggggggg

  • Is there any way to make the bagpipes sound less abrasive? Maybe a sweeter sound? It's a harsh sound for people who don't grow up with it.

  • @alybagpipe I liked this very much. A bagpipe is one of my favourite instrument and i would actually love to learn it, when im hiking or camping, i'd love to play some for my friends and/or myself. Is it hard to learn? And is it expensive?

Thinking of taking a holiday for a month or so in Irland in order to visit and to learn playing bagpipes, would you think thats more than enough for the basics? I have no idea, thanks. :)

  • Awwww lovely and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and yours and doggies!!

  • @faeriedebora Thank you, and the same to you my friend.

  • I scrolled down to see the video clip is 2 years old! The reason I came across it was because we live in Dubai where it is hot all the time and we are originally from England, and I was looking for some seasonal music, ie New Year music which for me means Scotland and bagpipe music! Until I read some of the comments below, I thought you were Scottish and playing in Scotland! So your doggie is 2 years older now and probably just as adorable and I can understand her being your best friend.

  • @faeriedebora Thank you for watching and the nice comments. I would love to see Scotland, someday for sure.I have two dogs actually, they're both 8 y/o now and happy and funny as ever. I've had them both since they were puppies. Shyla is the one in the video and Cooper is nearby, also doing what she loves best, chasing squirrels. Happy New Years to you and yours.

  • The bagpipe playing was wonderful and the doggie made us laugh so much!

  • @faeriedebora Thank you. I love my dog. She is my best friend.

  • beautiful place

i would leave all my things to go and live there

  • @bassjorge Thanks. I love it here.

  • Another reason why I should visit British Columbia one day :) Greetings from Ontario! By the way...

Would you be able to give me some insight in to the costs associated with learning/playing the bagpipes?

    Thanks

  • @Dukes233 Try getting in touch with a local pipe band. They will be able to help you out. From there you can either pay for lessons or just start going to band practice. Greetings from BC :)

  • where is lochness?

  • How often do you play? Do you compose or improvise? How did you get into this music? thanks from canada

  • @Hardtack444 Not often enough I'm afraid, but its coming. The tunes are traditional, most pipers know them. My dad had always played the pipes, was a pipe major for a spell.

  • Awwwww! good on ye m8! Lovely start tooa gots me toes a tappin too

  • Good for you , lad, we buried my dear Seumas to Farewell to the Creeks, and he wouldn't have wanted a jauntier sendoff. Slainthe Mhor.

    Mairibheag

  • Very enjoyable......good for you.......where was this filmed?

  • Love this with the dog - I think she's swimming in time to the beat!

  • Great video!

  • your dog is so cute!!!!!!!

  • You should try playing bonnie dundee a bit slower and more acurate. it would sound much better if you did.

  • LOVE your dog! :)

  • Good playing nice embelishments. Especially grips. Two things, relax a bit and get a bigger bag. Gannaways like the one you have are very comfortable

  • Good music. But try that with the waterline completely horizontal. I almost ran out after a cloth, to avoid all highland water ends up on my floor.

  • Boy, you sure know how to do embellishments really well! Great tune, nicely done but I prefer Bonnie Dundee a bit slower. Thanks a lot! Nice!

  • This Dog so funny xD

I can't concentrate on the bagppes because of him x_X BAD DOG!

  • This video is great--and the dog seems to be having a whale of a time!! Loved this!

    Peace,

    reelintina

  • Great vid although I would like to have seen the dog come out of the water and shake himself all over the piper. See if it would cramp his style!!

  • nice sound. thanks for sharing. the dog was very funny too!

  • i really like the fact that your dog is swimming in the back

    lovley pipes

  • cracker of a video! cheers

  • The say Dog's hate the Bagpipe.... This one seems to enjoy it.... So did I...

Like to play in beutyfull places

  • work a little on your fingering...you can do this by slowing down a tad - show a little more control

And the chanter sounds a bit dead...maybe time for a new reed?

  • Cute Puppy!

I like your tune selection they flow well together.

  • I like the Farewell to Creeks, lovely 6/8 I am learing that myself. I also liked your Donald Maclean. I noticed your military wallpaper. You should check out my piping video dedication to the Canadian Troops on Canada day last July. Keep playing mate!

  • Thank you and thanks for the piping video
