hey 55, as many bulbs as you can fit over the top of the tank! it really depends on the total wattage of light, and even though its not popular anymore I am a proponent of metal halides for SPS corals.

hey W, as much metal halide light as you can afford is the answer. 400 watts would great, at a very minimum 250 watt plus alot of calcium and water flow.

Hay jim you guys are grate and have grate experence and was wondering if you could help my i have a reef tank 25 gallon and want to know what type of corals you would remeber for a biginers first corals i do have lik 5 years freshwater so i know about the nitrogen cycle witch is finished and am wondering what kide i should add first? thanks for the help.

hey G, i dont do frags myself, so strive for strong light, strong water flow and strong use of calcium.

first of all........WOW!!!!!!!!! ive visited this website before and it has a very wide variety of fish corals and inverts(except angel fish) :( i didnt even know that place was in cali and i was suprized when u had a video in vivids aquariums! i wish i could go there but sadly i live in the hick state........texas. thanks for the video and keep em cumin!

yea, i went to this store a couple days ago but they were renevating, so they only had the one frag tank in front of the 800g display, and no fish or inverts. but thier huge reef is EPIC. although after scrounging through the expanse of frags in only that one tank, i finally found one i liked anyway :D

hey F, use a two pump system, one for filter circulation ( 2 to 5 times ) and another for internal circulation ( i dont know about 50 to 70 times ).

I don't get it. If they make all this illegal don't you think corals would end up like guns and drugs? People proping them in their basement, sneaking them across state lines. After you ban something the black market goes crazy. Prices will skyrocket and fragmenting them would probably only get worse.

Tree huggers should stick with saving the trees.

jim did they give any details on flow rates. return pump size power head size , quant? ... im assuming this was a 420 gallon tank by the looks. did you get episode one fixed yet?

hey P, you should contact Vivid direct for the answers you seek. i am sure its much bigger than 420 gallons... and I have no idea what errors you are refering to are.

I`m setting up a 90G soon and i am going LPS and SPS with that one.

I`m going for the T5VHO Teklights because of the heat problems regarding halides. I might do halide later on when i have more resources though.

I may also have to get a 45 gallon setup for my currently Over growing softies.

Its good because from what i remember its got the same dimensions as a 75 except that its several inches taller. I cant remember the number though. anyway i thought it would be great to go with a 90 instead of a 75 because it wouldn't used up any more floor space while still adding that extra gallonage.
