Eu queria saber o que o Hoost tem contra esquivar. Diversas vezes, o Sapp o segura com a esquerda e prepara vagarosamente um golpe de direita, enquanto o Hoost apenas fecha a guarda e espera a bomba. Acho que faltou isso pra evitar ser "garfado" na cara dura. Não tinha motivo nenhum pra parar a luta.

hoost made a mistake of not getting away from the power of sapp. He was doing it right in the first place, but made an error again by staying infront of sapp. Punching to the stomach of sapp was the answer, but he stopped doing it, so he lost the fight.
Hoost just doesnt seem to have the power to take him down. If the fight had gone on then I think he would've won it eventually though as Sapp was seriously struggling. He's just so big, even though he has no skill there must be a lot of power behind those wild swinging haymakers..

bob sapp was incredibly outclassed in the two fights with earnesto hoost but he showed an enormous amount of heart in enduring all of that punishment.. nearly being knocked out, badly wounded and visibly exausted. so much heart and determination from the big man, it brought a tear to my eye to see him overcome this obstacle. great, great fight...

With Sapp, one must get in and out quickly and avoid those power hooks and his one-two windmills. Hoost was great to watch, though. So glad these two met. Hoost schooled him on leg kicks too. Hoost is one of my all-time faves. Imagine him in a street fight.

When I saw this match a couple of years ago, I thought the ref. was wrong to stop this match, but now I see that Hoost received some really heavy blows at the final moments, and 3-4 went through his defense. Although Sapp could hardly breathe, he could have knocked Hoost out, regardless of how much more skillful he is, which I admit.
@kleinesap you can see at one point exactly what Hoost's strategy was: instead of throwing single punches, he'd gather up energy for 10 seconds and throw a flurry. It actually was a novel concept, seeing as one punch wasn't gonna knock Sapp out. Hoost should have focused on the simple stick and move concept, but he wanted so badly to get the KO. A foolish move in the end, but if it worked he woulda been praised.

You are mistaken. First of all, Brock has less size than Bob. Brock's weight is 127 kg (data from wiki), Bob's is 143 kg. Bob is 3 cm taller. And the main thing, that Brock is a coward. He is afraid of straight fight and run away. It was seen last two his fights, when he met with strong opponents and feared. On the contrary, Bob is a warrior. This was seen many times. May be he doesn't possess good technics and speed but he doesn't fear and run.
I find it odd how someone as tough and skilled as Hoost found it so difficult to win against Sapp. He probably took some strong painkillers or got high before this fight because in all of Sapp's other fights against equally skilled fighters such as LeBanner, Aerts, Sefo, etc. his tolerance for pain is much lower and he usually goes down after only a few punches or kicks to the body/head/face or one good one. I have no other explanation. How Sapp suddenly became tougher here is a mystery to me.

@gino800 Well Sapp should get pissed off more often then. As normally he loses from guys that were beaten by Hoost. Those anabolic muscles and his strenght doesn't make him per definition the better fighter. I think Sapp was acting and Hoost was payed off or maybe in very, very, bad shape.

After the down of Ernesto in 5:06 Bab Sapp play a little drama acting like gets hurt from punches of Ernesto bec. when a person hurts like that you can't throw hard punches anymore. When I saw this match a couple of years ago, I thought the ref. was wrong to stop this match, but now I see that Hoost received some really heavy blows at the final moments, and 3-4 went through his defense. Although Sapp could hardly breathe, he could have knocked Hoost out, regardless of how much more skillful he is, which I admit.

@kleinesap you can see at one point exactly what Hoost's strategy was: instead of throwing single punches, he'd gather up energy for 10 seconds and throw a flurry. It actually was a novel concept, seeing as one punch wasn't gonna knock Sapp out. Hoost should have focused on the simple stick and move concept, but he wanted so badly to get the KO. A foolish move in the end, but if it worked he woulda been praised.

I find it odd how someone as tough and skilled as Hoost found it so difficult to win against Sapp. He probably took some strong painkillers or got high before this fight because in all of Sapp's other fights against equally skilled fighters such as LeBanner, Aerts, Sefo, etc. his tolerance for pain is much lower and he usually goes down after only a few punches or kicks to the body/head/face or one good one. I have no other explanation. How Sapp suddenly became tougher here is a mystery to me.
