Yeah, I tore thru an output shaft once but mostly because it's a light factory weld and poorly engineered.

Stand on the break with one foot then stand on the gas with the other and off you go. It's called "powerbraking"
1. Turn on
2. Brake
3. Put the gear stick on Drive
4. Push on the gas deeply
5. Then, for getting speed, you relax moderately the brake
(don't forget to breathe, sometimes... ;)
