Ok it is my mistake, after checking closely it isn't a hairband but the shadow from the mic. If you don't know how that would help you obviously don't play guitar.
It can help alot. If you release a note, the hairband will help stop the string from vibrating, this will help mute any unwanted noise during your playing (try it and see), you still have to be a fairly clean player to begin with: This littlle trick won't let you get away with murder. I wouldn't use it, but might consider it if I'm playing say a two-handed tapping/legato piece.

but yeah, codeon (sami's other band) is ridiculous and if you want to hear ridiculously good stuff on par with necrophagist, spawn of possession, or gorod check them out.

He released the first album all by himself, and it was a one man project for a long time, so he's just getting the musicians he needs basically... kinda like Chuck Schuldiner and Death. is it only his solos that are in D harmonic minor? or are the whole songs in D harmonic minor? i looked at some of the songs and it seems that everything else BUT the solos are harmonic scales with lots of accidentals and they arent in any key at all.

pretty much all their music is A-tonal, it doesn't resolve much at all, loads of 2nds and 7ths, it's awesome!!!
