@Fallout2Forever you're welcome. It's a really nifty game. There's also a speech package for all the dialogue in the game that I didn't know about until later. The voice acting in the game is great so it's worth getting that too. Hope you enjoy it.

I think I played the original on the Megadrive, which I thought at first was this game. So I was a bit surprised to discover how large this game is.

@ModernRelik hehe yeah I've had that experience watching some blind let's plays. I will definitely be continuing this one. I love space-based sci-fi and lots of sandbox type freedom so this is exactly my sort of game.

ME?, yes YOU. XD Shame you've never played it before, you deprived yourself of a lot of fun. I don't even like these type of games but I love Star Control 2. Yeah the light show going on behind him is distracting isn't it?

but your drone go's beeep beeep beeep when its full. just send it back to your main ship to empty it and send it out again :D..

i played this ages ago XD. or rather my brother did while i watched, but i enjoyed it alot :D

@impkeeper ah thanks for the tip. Gameplay tips would be great, but I'd rather find out about most of the plot as it unfolds. I'll definitely be continuing this, but I've got a few other games on the go so not sure when. Glad you enjoyed it :)
