the enemy in iraq isn't just one single group. it's many. i agree, it's not murdering innocents because they didn't intentionally kill them. there's always civilian deaths in war, what can you expect? but i don't see how them fighting somewhere else has anything to do with freedom. america's freedom wasn't jeopardized in iraq. saddam's military was weak. if he tried anything the US would annihilate him. i don't get the whole "freedom" reason for the war.

Oh here we go again with the old "if it wasn't for us, you would all be speaking German" bollocks. Air superiority (essential for successful invasion of UK) lost by Luftwaffe to RAF during 'Battle of Britain' (July 1940 - May 1941). Germany scraped plans for UK invasion (codenamed Operation Sealion) in September 1940. USA enters war December 1941, 14 months later, after Pearl Harbour. Of the 510 RAF overseas pilots, seven were American. We thank them; the rest of you can fuck off.

According to you, if the US does not enter the war, there will be no difference in the outcome? How delusional can you be. Your country was under siege with no chance of liberating Europe. Japan did not fear your navy (biplane torpedo bombers). It was hitler's insane decision to invade his ally Russia that saved you. At the end of the war, the US economy was more productive than the rest of the world combined. You need to read a little. Start with Churchill's Second World War memoirs.

If you reread a little (start with my post), I don't say that the US had no effect on the outcome of the war, I just said that the US had a lot less to do with Hitler's failure to invade the UK than brommulus (who really needs to read a little) suggests. Your right, if Hitler hadn't invaded Russia, things would have been very different. So what. If the French hadn't been waging a sea-war on us, you may not have won your independence. And you would all be speaking English, correctly.

PS - When I did a little reading (four years at university, reading Modern History, I got a 2:1, my Mother was very proud) the view of virtually all academics was that Churchill was a better statesman than historian. A little too personally involved.
PPS - Don't bother replying to the France/Independence thing -- I couldn't care less.

Yes us Americans have helped in different places and still no recognition. We do not belong in iraq. This is what our stupid president has done to us. Our troops and the poor people of iraq are not to blame for all the bad things that have happen in this war. You can bet your ass that they will be the ones who pay the ultimate price for it. All for the greedy coward leaders that want every penny of their investment secured with blood and the destruction of the poor.

The proliferation of these terrorists only happened after America came. Why not invade North Korea?
